Slightly unimpressed with Ireland today, his passing seemed quite off and then his tackling to try and win it back is like Paul Scholes'.

Overall, very positive moving forward.

Ireland I found puzzling today. He always seems to be playing within himself (which is meant to be the sign of a good player) he kept us ticking over today, in much the same way El Ahmadi did.

Only problem is, we all want / expect more from Ireland. Probably down to his high wages. If he was only on 20K a week or if he'd come through the ranks we'd be happy with his performance today.

Bannans dead balls were also very good today....just a matter of days till Vlaar or benteke bullet header one of them into the net!

i was very impressed with Bannan today. he seems to be gaining confidence at being allowed to play his own game.

I've posted elsewhere that if he made that performance for Liverpool or Utd, he'd be hailed as a world beater!

The thing to remember about Benteke is he's still only 21. Could have an amazing career ahead of him.

at half time in the Everton game, I turned to me mate and claimed that I could have stopped the Piennar goal. (I'd definately have stopped the Fellaini header).....Brad's save from Dyer today proved those are stoppable. Given wouldn't have got to that anymore.

I'd have said so, no point having a 50 man squad if 38 of them are never going to get a sniff at playing in the team.

If Lambert sees him as a starting 11 player, maybe we should give hime the captains armband. he comes across as someone who needs an arm round the shoulder and have a manager believe in him. He does put in a shift, but he's not the most vocal. but then neither is Bent. He can't possibly stay as captain!
