  1. I'd take Garry Cook over the bumbling idiot we currently has a CEO or whatever the hell he is.

Garry Cook - fantastic businessman, knows football as a sport and an industry, and an expert brand-builder. Also a die hard bluenose. Sadly.

At the moment I couldn't care who he supports as long as he did a job for us, he'd be better than that inept, yes boy Faulkner.

  2. Well said Risso. People that think he will magically get it right live in Peter Pan land. If you look back at his appointments in American football he gets it wrong every single time.

I totally agree that he has not made a good job of owning and running Villa, they the key challenge for him going forward is to get it right. I personally don't think that is living in Peter Pan land. If someone like Mike Ashley can do it at Newcastle I'm sure Randy Lerner can. Its all about taking the right advice and appointing the right people.

Paul Faulkner is cast as the pantomime villain by lots of posters but I would hazard a guess that next to no one on this forum has met him let alone talked to him so actually know nothing about him. As the Trees said in a previous post on this thread PF seemingly was appointed to try and put the club on a more sensible commercial footing following the excesses of MON which I agree Lerner must have sanctioned. It could be argued that was a good think to do.

Much talk is made on this forum of appointing a 'footballing man' to run the club yet the only suggestion that has been tabled is David Dein. I'd be interested to see if anyone could come up with a shortlist of gettable candidates particularly one that excludes Steve Stride (HDE's bag man IMO) and Graham Taylor (no business background).

Good post. I've met PF and as I've said before, wasn't impressed with him at all - he came across as an overgrown, excitable kid and I was genuinely shocked when I discovered he was our CEO.

In terms of a 'footballing man' in the role I would suggest there are a few gettable targets.

One guy who I have been impressed by is David McNally at Norwich City - also did a good job at Fulham and Celtic (although maybe tainted by the O'Neill connection?).

Dare I say Garry Cook is looking for employment.... :)

  3. Told myself I wouldn't watch the prologue but couldn't resist it.

Was a bit underwhelming to be honest, thanks to the horrendous quality of the video.

I did the same, however I think Tom Hardy's going to be a class act as Bane.

I've saw the 2nd trailer too and again he looks and sounds menacing in it, Anne Hathaway also features a bit more whilst looking fit.

  4. Hopefully Warner Bros might just put it online with the leak happening so fast, with the advanced screenings of it now taking place in the states and the UK tonight they should expect it really.

The new trailer should be with us in the next week or so as it makes it debut before Sherlock Holmes 2 this Friday.

I want to see the prologue vid badly though.

  5. Something lots of people have confirmed (and seemingly vindicates that dodgy recording from a few months back) is that Bane talks strangely, to the point people seem to be struggling with his dialogue...

    ...which sounds pretty grim :(

I think they'll touch this up in post production, Nolan himself they've barely touched the film yet and they focused on the prologue.

Time will tell, either way I think this is going to end Nolan's Batman trilogy in some style.
