So, inevitably covid is now in our household after our 9yr old tested positive.
Another symptom to watch out for is sore eyes, he said he had sore eyes and a headache this morning which prompted us testing him.
Me and my wife are jabbed and boosted so hopefully it's mild for us if we get it, which feels likely.

Hopefully not.

These jokers tried to recently sting me for being in a car park for over 3hrs where in fact I'd visited the same car park twice in one day for 15 mins at a time, they flat out rejected my appeal then I took it to POPLA and provided my trip history from my phone.
My appeal was withheld and that was the end of it.

My biggest problem with this line of thinking though is the dumb mofos take advantage and ruin it for all us that take it seriously. I have protected my family, kept away, masked up, jabbed hoping for better times yet dumb mofos go on stupid protests like in London the other day likely to spread Covid, defeating the objective they were trying to protest against because numbers are likely to rise thus lockdown. Letting people decide what they do just means dumb mofos do dumb stuff and leaves the rest of us who are careful taking the brunt of it.
I’m not sure leaving to people is wise but also not in the governments hands is wise either. I think we need more restrictions at the moment, I really do, otherwise we will end up in lockdown again.
At some point we have to make that transition though surely not? We have to move away from lockdowns for sake of peoples mental health, wellbeing and the economy. (hospitality and the massive economy that it feeds for starters)
I'm far from a selfish person (my Mum is nearly 80 and she feels the same) but we just can't keep doing this.

Liverpool are the best team in the world and they were on today. Klopp rested most of the squad mid week because he knew what was coming and had his team up for the game.
Was I disappointed that we weren’t more of a threat going forward, yes. But nobody would have walked away with a point today against that Liverpool team when they’re in that mood.
Exactly this.

I want to know what the protection is with 2AZ + Pfizer booster.
It's important for me and it's important for the nation because that the mix the vast majority of the oldies have had.
71% protection against symptomatic infection according to what I read today, I too had the same combination.

I was hoping so, but the school I work at have today sent a letter to parents saying we've had a covid outbreak. I'm a bit annoyed as I didn't have a clue we had cases. But I'm expecting the worst for my test result tomorrow.
Same happened at my sons school and his best mate he shares a table with tested positive, somehow he avoided as we lateral flow tested multiple times over 8 days including me and my wife.
The school then sent a note in the newsletter there had been an outbreak of "sickness" but not actually saying what it was when pretty much all the parents knew exactly what it was.

Is this about Shang Chi? If so agreed, I’d go further than best film since Infinity War, I’d say it’s one of the best overall. It’s probably got into my top 5 Marvel films.
1. Guardians 12. Infinity War
3. Thor Ragnorok
4. Shang Chi
5. Endgame or Civil War
Totally agree with that list, think it sums up my top 5 too.

Sky News have pissed me off with their Coronavirus reporting. They are constantly putting a negative slant on everything. Every variant is highly dangerous. Every thing that happens is slated as a disaster. Todays stories are that Boris Johnson rules nothing out to control the Indian variant and that next weeks lockdown easing should be called off. Its similar every day.
Sky are the absolute worst with their reporting, also giving constant airtime to "experts" such as Deepti Gurdasani who's desperate to maintain her prolonged period of relevance.
They must know the impact they're having on peoples mental health and anxiety, clearly they don't give much of a toss though.

An uptick in positive tests is inevitable, but the main thing is if it doesn’t translate into hospital admissions and deaths then we’re on the right track.
And that's where the vaccine effect kicks in, thankfully all tests to date so far the more transmissible "India" variant doesn't escape vaccines which is important, from the recent breakout at a care home where people had been vaccinated with the AZ vaccine there were no deaths or serious illness.
I did also read that we're apparently stockpiling circa 12m doses currently of which 5m are MRNA, these need to be in arms ASAP.

My worry is that it's attacking young people in Brazil, over half the people in hospital are now under 40, and it also seems to be killing more younger people. That's whats I'm worried about.
And rightly so however we seem on course to vaccinate that age group soon though unlike Brazil, in fact I know x3 under 40's with no health conditions who have already had their first jab.

Definitely need to keep this Brazilian variant out. Not only is Brazil completely under he cosh from it, but apparently 50% of all people currently in hospital are under 40 so it seems it's pretty good at getting at younger people.
When they were talking about amending vaccines for new variants they originally said it would only take "weeks" to tweak vaccines. They've know about these variants for at at least a couple of months now, how come October seems to be the earliest date we're going to get new versions? That's months, not weeks. When I originally heard that I thought there might be a chance of my second jab being an upgraded one for the new variants.
Isn't this the same Brazil that's handled this appallingly and barely anyone is vaccinated? Not sure it's entirely comparable with here tbh.
Yes we need to be vigilant but the current vaccines stop serious illness and hospitalisations from all current known variants.

There's a lot of really interesting research on T-Cells which I think this refers to which I'm surprised isn't being more of in the media, it's probably too positive a piece of news to report for some of them though.

My wife (40) thankfully got her jab today which was unexpected given the news yesterday, I politely called our GP just to ask when it would be likely she'd get a jab seeing as I had mine last week (I'm 41), they took her DOB and gave me an appt for 2hrs later for her.
It comes as a relief to know me, my wife, my Mum and in laws are now jabbed up.

AZ jab knocked me about for 24 hours. Fine the day I had it, not fine the day after, fine again the day after that!
It was like having the aches from a bad cold, nothing major.
Pretty much the same, slight chills started 8hrs after then it all kicked off 12hrs after with chills, muscle aches and a fever.
I feel absolutely fine now, just waiting for those sweet antibodies to kick in.

It's usually the Pfizer one where people are asked to wait 15 mins, certainly round here anyway
I had the AZ one on Thursday and because I said I was driving they made me wait 15 minutes just in case.
After feeling pretty rank early hours of Fri AM (aches, chills and a fever) I'm feeling quite a bit better, it certainly beats the alternative anyway.

Are there any particular resale sites you guys would recommend and any to avoid? I have a 4 game history and getting ever nervous about the sales making that window on Monday, thinking I'm prepared to pay those prices to be able to get there.
