  1. Neither of you will "get" Ireland. Give me one good reason why we would sell such a good player to either of you. Not exactly strapped for cash and there are many more players we will sell before him. Indeed show me one direct quote from Either City or Ireland Stating he is off. The only quote i have seen from the lad is to say how he is detirmind to stay and prove his worth..... I don't see Milner rushing to say the same. The only thing you are basing your theories on is shite toilet paper articles during a slow transfer window.
  2. How much would Ireland have cost after 2008/2009? Personaly i'd say about £15M-£18M Probably worth about £12M now.
  3. Probably is time to move on now. Milner doesn't apear to be the kind of guy to kick up a fuss if he stays. I'm sure he will enjoy his football at Villa next season as much as he did last although there is no guarantee he will be as good this year. Not worth anywhere near the money you lot reckon. Sure he had a very solid season last year but he's no better than Ireland who had the same sort of season the year before.
  4. You will be very suprised how much Ireland will do to stay at City. He will keep plugging away hoping to get picked until his last breath. No disrespect. Villa are a great club but he would be gutted if he was sold now just as we are on the cusp of greatness. I don't think he will be sold. I think it's all B@llocks. Richards came out last week saying the same thing. He said they just all laugh at who the media is saying will be sold next. We need to sell players sure. But that will be the likes of Santa Cruz, Onuoha, Jo etc. Garrido has already gone and i wouldn't be suprised to see SWP leave and unfortunately Bellamy might join Fulham. However Hart, Richards and Ireland will stay for sure.
  5. Hi guys. Been viewing this thread for a while now. Some of your oppinions on my beloved Man City have varied from genuinely amusing to the hilariously ridiculous. It apears you are in the majority of the agreament that you just want an end to this long and drawn out saga. I'm in 100% agreement there. In terms of the deal itself. There has been a lot of debate here about who holds the cards. I reckon neither side holds all the cards here. He's a Villa player and if you are not prepared to lower your £30M price tag at any cost then City will have to simply accept that. I certainly can't blame you for standing your ground. its fair enough. However City are adament that they will not pay anywhere near that for Milner. I reckon the lad in total realism is probably worth the £15M mark. Add into that the "City Factor" and £20M would probably be fare if a bit silly. However the question for Villa is whever or It is more beneficial to keep a decent young player or get £24M to bring in 2 or 3 decent players? Then there is the Stephan Ireland factor. A player who (just like Milner) is an undeniabley superb talent who has only really had one great season (again just like Milner). I know it's probably not what you guys want to hear but Ireland actualy doesnt really factor into the deal. He will stay at City at least until after Christmas to see how many games he is playing then he will probably sit down with City and discuss his future. I see him being at City for many more years. Mancini wants 2 top class players for every position Given/Hart.....Richards/Boateng...Tevez/Balotelli.....Milner/Ireland.... Silva/Johnson.... Yaya/Barry etc etc Personaly i'd like us to move on and go for someone else. Everyones happy then right?
