  1. Just looking at the City midfielders and who would want to play in the first team I have no idea where Milner will fit in.

    Abdisalam Ibrahim

    Adam Johnson

    David Silva

    Gareth Barry

    Patrick Vieira

    Yaya Toure

    Nigel de Jong

    Kelvin Etuhu

    Stephen Ireland

    Michael Johnson

    Vincent Kompany

    Vladimir Weiss

    Shaun Wright-Phillips

Players in bold would want first team football.

There is already 8 midfielders that would want to start in the starting 11.

Between that bench and the comfy pillow he will have to get used to sitting on.

but realistically im sure he won't be on the bench all the time.

  2. ^ so your saying the players should be only limited to the contact with the club there at currently? sorry i didn't understand what you said LOL.

I think he means if a player signs a 4 year contract and wants to leave after year 2, tough luck. Don't sign a 4 year deal if you don't want to stay for 4 years.

They're just greedy. Signing a 4 year deal gives them 4 guarenteed years of financial security at that salary. So when a bigger offer comes along, they want out, so they can sign on for 4 years guarenteed at a higher salary.

ah yeah i see now thanks and yeah i agree again! its all greed.

    ^ i'd be happy with ireland+hart+10m or ireland+another player from city+12m

no chance with Hart,he's worth as much to them as Milner is to us,we'll be lucky to walk away with 20m over all imo..

yeah i guess your right but i'd still take ireland though.

  4. I think we need to look at Arsenals model now. It's quite clear we don't have enough money to rebuff the big spenders, so we need to grow natural talent and build up a profitable club and go from there.

On the basis of Barry and Milner going, I expect Young, Delfouneso or Delph to be sniffed at next season if one of them plays regularly and has a fantastic season.

We will obviously end up selling them, probably for good money and have to start again nurturing new talent.

Which is fine but you cannot keep doing that, it's just unsuatainable if you are to compete at the highest level. You do need to tell some clubs to sod off, even if it runs the risk of the player being sold for less a season later.

Arsenal have done it with Fabregas it seems. OK they sold some pretty key players in the last few years but Fab was the one player they haven't been willing to budge on in terms of letting go for anything short of the ridiculous.

This is what we need to start doing, but we can only do that if the club is at a profitable level. At the moment we are not but I think perhaps after we have this sponsorship deal and hopefully generate big money sales in the next few years, increase and improve ths stadium, we may find ourselves in a better position.

that means when clubs come sniffing we can tell them to sod off.

that's all fair and well.... but what happens if the player wants to actually move? fair enough as a club we tell them to get lost but if the player wants to actually move... then we really have no choice.

  5. Once the parasite leaves id use the money for

    Defour/Ireland - 10 Million

Witzel/or another hard man that can pass - 8 Million

    Robbie Keane - 5 Million

    Nathaniel Clyne - 2 Million

I'm happy with those you've selected although i dont see it happening, ive said it before i like that Clyne ... but i doubt the club his at currently will sell him (although ive not looked into it before someone bites my balls off)

  6. You know what's sad MON actually made him who he is, gave him that opportunity for an england shirt and made him a really good player for villa....and now his pratically saying "ok well there's more money for me in X so i'll go to X instead regardless of what you've taught me and what you've done out your way to make me a better player." But hey thats football.

Bollocks and you know it, this money thing is an easy thing to throw at Milner. Lets take this summer, have Villa/MON shown any ambition in making the lad think Villa are serious, at this current moment in time Milner looks at Man City and see's Silva, Toure walk through the door adding to the fact they have Tevez, Bellamy and must think this team is serious about trying to win things, whereas us its more graft like, we work bloody hard to finish 6th, if Man City perform to their potential, it'll be fighting for the title, the only saving grace we have is i don't believe City have the right manager in place but that can be easily rectified ala Spurs. We have signed no-one and bloody look like signing no-one and to i don't want to start having a go at the board but it seems like a coincidence with the rumours of financial troubles, the General has disappeared.

I see what your saying and I agree with you on most points espicially the signings that we haven't done (im equally as frustrated by that) but do you honestly think money plays no part if he moves to man city?

  8. f**k it, if he wants to leave let him leave he won't perform anyway if his heart isnt set on it, barry left and now milner will leave for the same club..I really hope man city go bankrupt or they are real shit this season, then when barry and milner look at MON.. I hope he turns his back on them both.

  9. when will this end?!?! if his going please go quick and if his staying please annouce it quick! its getting frustrating waiting on him! i've actually waited so long that ive come to terms with the fact that if he leaves I wont feel bad... now i wonder if that was his plan all along.

phew finally got that off my chest.

  10. From Goal..

Manchester City and Chelsea target James Milner has cast fresh doubt over his Aston Villa future by putting plans to buy a new Midlands home on hold, according to The People.

Speculation has linked the England midfielder with a £30 million move away from the Europa League qualifiers following his impressive campaign for the Villans last term.

City are reported to have already seen a £20 million offer rejected, while Chelsea seemingly want the 24-year old to help replace the departing Michael Ballack and Joe Cole in their squad.

Milner had planned to build a £1.9 million house in Sutton Coldfield, but has reportedly put this plan on ice while he awaits news of a potential transfer.

    Goal!
