Basically, One of my best friends who works in football. He's also a villa fan and has connections at Villa through different sources which I cannot mention so please don't ask. Anyway the story is Lambert has put a few faces out of joint within the club. The academy was also mentioned and from what I have been told Lambert is not a big fan. I was wondering if anyone who is ITK regarding the academy had heard anymore. I will find out more in time but it was a quick convo so didn't get too much.

Heard some interesting news last night from a very very good source. From what I have been told Lambert has virtually cut connections with the academy pushing a few faces out of joint. Anyone else heard anything along these lines?

The 5 stayed back and the few times the FB tried to get forward they were up against 2 players.Meanwhile Westwood and Bannan were left in the middle chasing shadows.Meanwhile the front free we basically left there to work their way to goal themselves.It was a shambles.

Formations are not rigid and haven't been for a long time. Games are so dynamic and players are so athletic that 5 at the back is 4 at the back with a spare midfielder. Lambert and O'Neill and many other managers have said this. It's the best 11 players and the 'system' is secondary.

 

Newcastle spent a lot on players in January and we haven't. They already had a much better team than us. It's as simple as that.

Its ok having 23m to spend when you can give players decent wages but when your restricted to having to get players in on shit wages then it obviously makea a big difference. the biggest mistake lambert made was taking this job in the first place.

As shit as this Villa team is Lambert is just not organising or getting the best out of them. **** Lamberts mistakes there's that many of them, the biggest mistake was Villa thinking he was the answer to our manager and stability problems. One thing that was cleanly obvious tonight was Lambert cost Villa the game with his shit 5-3-2. Changed to 4-4-2 far too late. Played Bent in a system that was to narrow and then took him off when we started to play with width. I think most managers could get our team more organised than this idiot. Deserves all the stick he gets IMO. If Vila don't sack him we are down!

Well put. I would say this though. At least the fan's had a relationship with Ellis even if a love, hate one. We hated him, he loved himself. Doug would never gamble hence he broke my heart(you know what I mean) when letting Juninho go to Middlesborough for the sake of £1m - The biggest rick ever IMO. Countless times he proved to be a stubborn old bastard who more often than not didn't give a shit about the fan's. 

When I think about things and the way the club is now I though believe that although Ellis had his faults he gave more of a shit than Lerner after all Villa were his principle interest for many years, yet Lerner it appears got himself a toy and is now bored of it. We were under Doug's tenure very much like the Everton of now without the David Moyes. We were a tight ship, although lacking ambition not wanting to visit better places, instead happy doing day trips.

Now under Lerner however we are a like a ship that was heading for sunnier climates(ChampLeague), got lost on the way(MON), hit an iceberg(GH), became rudderless(AM) and is heading straight towards the rocks(Championship). Worst of all the Captain(Lerner) has just jumped on the only helicopter and **** off with the officers(Krulak and Co) leaving the cook(Paul Lambert not steven segal!) and the washer-upper(Paul Faulkner) in charge. If anyone's wondering about lifeboats(plan B.) The Captain in his wisdom never thought we would need them after all he'd been on the journey before - silly bastard forgot though, he nearly sunk the last boat!  Rough seas ahead on the HMS Aston Villa.

This was my thought after reading the statement, most of it generic bullshit backing Lambert yet not backing Lambert. And this said everything anyone needs to know about where we are, basically saying go **** yourselves, I'm not spending.

Randy Lerner could easily have bankrolled a couple of decent signings on the promise that certain players would leave, be released or sold in the summer to re-balance the books - . I think fans need to show their discontent on tuesday. Enough is enough now the prick has had more support than anyone yet has continually failed to organise or rectify the mistakes being made week after week. The 'For Sale' sign has been on Bent's head since the start of the January window but seemingly no-one has come in for him yet. Other teams know we are desperate to sell so they'll probably wait until just before the window closes to drive down the price.

I think they may even wait until the end of the season instead and get him for absolute peanuts if we go down. All the teams around us are scoring goals at the moment  although I wouldn't bet against someone throwing in a cheeky 4-5m bid last minute as you said. I would put my arm around him, tell him how great he is, start pinging balls in from the flanks and guaranteed he'll start scoring if fit. I honestly think he's worth more to us now than ever and if we do manage to stay up may even get at little closer to what we paid for him back. I would play him and Benteke together with Gabby and Zog on the wings in the run in. Use Wiemann in rotation of the front 2.

It may look assertive but I've done the research and can back every claim up with stats.
