  1. Do you know we struggled to break teams down at home last season too...with these players. Just saying.

Were it not for our excellent away form we would have really struggled. Now that the away form is no longer there, we are struggling.

I think the players and the manager as a whole need to take the blame. It's too easy to blame Houllier although I don't think he is the right man for the job.

  2. Having had an iphone 3gs and now 4 and browsing the forum I noticed a few people have gone from iphone to Andriod phone.

With a great deal of disappointment with the current iphone - I wanted to ask the people who moved from iphone to andriod what their thoughts are on the andriod phone compared to apple?

Any regrets? Do you miss the apple brand? Or is the Android phone as good (which I suspect it is - just that apple seem to market their phones better IMO).

Also can you sync an Android phone with iTunes? Given all of my music is played through iTunes, I don't want to use another format and was hoping that if I did switch I could keep my music as it is?

    Any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated.

  3. So I emailed O2 and mentioned all my problems (or their **** ups to be precise) and got a phone call from someone in their 'complaints review team'. He basically offered me 3 months free line rental and £50 bank charges repaid.

I told him that wasn't enough and to up his offer. He said that was his final offer and it was non-negotiable. I then emailed back asking if I was entitled to take my complaint to Otelo as I was not happy with their paltry offer.

He called back and offered £50 and 6 months free line rental.

    Result!

As for the iphone versus android debate - I think apple have scored a monumental own goal with this latest iphone and I see android phones stealing a march on the iphone (this is despite me owning one and a macbook) - I think apple have developed a degree of arrogance about their product - which will prove to be their undoing over the next 12 months.

  4. This.

I haven't had any of the problems mentioned. In fact wasn't the cheek thing something they addressed a couple of years back on the old iphones?

As for aesthetics, well it's each to their own isn't it. i personally think it's one of the best looking phones out there.

Actually it's just one of a whole line of phone problems i have had - really O2 and their customer service is beyond terrible.

    1) ordered 32g iphone 4 from O2 - agreed to pay the £100 it would cost to get out of my 3gs contract.

    2) Was ordered a 32g iphone 3gs - was told I would have to send courier back and contact O2 to order phone again.

    3) complained to manager and was told they would contact me after the weekend to confirm order and re-order iphone 4 32g, they would deal with their mistake (I have this in writing via email)

    4) I was not contacted by the manager - and a 16g iphone 4 was ordered without consulting me

    5) I complained and they agreed to refund me £100 I paid and get me my 32g iphone 4. They also said they'd only charge me for a 16g iphone 4.

    6) I got billed later that month for 3 iphones - a 32g 3gs, a 16g iphone4 and a 32g iphone 4 - despite me returning the 1st 2. This was on top of my normal phone bill and came to £330.

    7) The money came out of my account as I was away when the bill was sent causing me to go over my overdraft and get charged £50 for 2 bounced direct debits.

    8) The iphone 4 micro sim did not arrive for 2 months, so I have only had use of the phone for the last 2 weeks. This is when I noticed the vibrate problem. I contacted O2 today and they said since my contract for the new iphone was taken 2 months ago I couldn't swop it I would have to take it in for repair and get some shitty basic phone for calls.

So what's my legal position in all this - any advice would be appreciated.

  5. Not impressed at all with the new iphone. Poorly made device from a so called corporation that is supposed to be on the cutting edge. I have a MacBook, and find them much better to uise than Windows, and was happy with the 3GS, but the 4 is a poor phone

    1) Intermittent non-functioning vibrate - a known problem having looked at various forums - the motor gets stuck intermittently - I have missed calls due to this

    2) Dropped calls - yes the aerial is shit

    3) while on a call if the screen happens to touch your cheek it can put the caller on hold, or speakerphone.

And the design is clunky and not at all aesthetically appealing. Actually regretting getting this now.

    :(

  6. If it is GH I hope he only gets a contract until the end of May. Then we can asses how well he has done and if he should stay on or if we should go get Martin Jol or someone else.

I'm wondering has Jol achieved more or less in the game than Houllier?

Jol appears to be flavour of the month. His CV is far less impressive than Houllier's.

  7. Had MON timed it better then from what I'm hearing Mark Hughes would have been in situ, but no way would we want

a manager to walk out on a club he's just joined that would be a dishonourable act as the General has alluded to.

I'm sure MON thinks he timed it perfectly.

Exactly - deliberately leaving when we had no other options to fall back on. In any other line of work if you leave without giving your notice period its a serious disciplinary issue.

Can you be sacked for doing so? :?

It's probably written into the contract in most cases of employment about how much notice to give prior to termination. I suspect this is where MON made sure he had all the aces.

In 'normal' jobs it varies from 1-3 months is my understanding.

  9. he didnt do too badly at liverpool. has a goo reputation in europe i would welcome him. be better than sven, southagte or curbishly

You're kidding right? Bought a load of shit overpriced players at plop and renowned for his long ball football!

    No thanks!

Sven is the only one who is available and who'd fit the bill.

I would prefer Hiddink but no way he'd come to us.
