  1. Thanks for all the comments guys!

I still think Collins can do a job at a defensive mid in a 3/5 man midfield ;) ;)

In America whenever you win a state championship in high school each member gets a ring, here is a picture of all 3 rings. I dont have the first one, i gave it to my dad for xmas as a kind of thank you, as none of this would have been possible without him, the other two i still have but havent worn them at the same time yet!

Congrats on your award, and sounds like a really nice gesture.

  2. BoxingScene.com was advised by Freddie Roach, trainer of WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan, that a fight with Juan Manuel Marquez is on the table. Contrary to widespread media reports, Roach says there is no set agreement to fight mandatory Marcos Maidana. In fact, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told BoxingScene on Monday that he simply postponed the WBA's mandated purse bid for another two weeks to give himself additional time to reach an agreement between Khan and Maidana, who are both under the Golden Boy banner.

"There has been talk about Paulie Malignaggi at The Garden but they are worried about ticket sales and Paulie filling The Garden. That's what I'm told. I would like to kick Paulie's @ss because he's talking about my fighter [Manny Pacquioa]. He's an expert on steroids too now," Roach told BoxingScene.

Roach advised Khan to avoid a Maidana fight for a little while to allow the hype to build up. He doesn't think there is enough buzz or money in the match. He was approached by Golden Boy about the possibility of fighting Juan Manuel Marquez and Roach accepted that fight.

"I asked him not to fight Maidana right away because I think that fight needs to be built up. He is not well known enough and there is not enough money in that fight. If it gets built up, it could be a real big fight, so the thing is we are going to fight someone else and they just asked me if we would fight Marquez and I said 'yes we will fight Marquez.' So that's going to be on the table now and that's a possible opponent also."

Roach doesn't want Khan to vacate his title but if the WBA forces the Maidana meeting, he is not sure on the exact direction they will take.

"Amir is very proud of his title and he doesn't want to give it up. Maybe we could put Maidana on this undercard [Khan-Marquez] and build the fight up a little bit better and maybe the winners could fight each other," Roach said.

  3. I would take you any day, Snowy!

It´s a time to be proud to be black amongst the white sheeple.

    Huh??? :o  :suspect: :wow:

    Haha sorry :)

I thought you used the black sheep expression in UK as well.

To be the black sheep = to be strange, different etc. compared to the "normal" people or white sheeps.

Only this time the "normal" people are manipulated, easily feared (like sheep)zombies who swallow any headline at face value. Sheeple.

The PC brigade clearly haven't got the same hold over your country that they have over ours.

  4. Can't believe Public Enemies has nil poin

Me too. It got 4 votes in the previous poll, one of which being mine. However I changed to the brilliant "Hurt Locker". IMDb didn't take too well to it either with a 7.2.

    Who got your vote Rob?

  5. Khan signs for Golden Boy... Malignaggi?

At the moment, DiBella isn't happy with Golden Boys proposal.

Like he says, Khan is currently a nobody whereas Paulie isn't. Surely Paulie should be making the demands.

    :crylaugh:

The only way Paulie is better known than Khan is by being known for his mouth.

Khan may not be a big name outside the UK, but Paulie isn't some huge draw, and certainly isn't in a position to make demands of a world title holder.

I was thinking he had won a title from Diaz when I made that comment in all honesty.

  6. That doesnt alter the fact that Amir Khan holds the WBA world title though does it?

It would be a great fight. One where both fighters have a lot to gain from it, Paulie gets a shot at one of the world titles that is actually quite prestigious and Amir gets a name which puts him on the map in the USA. I think its a very interesting fight too. I think Paulie is perfect for Khan though, I think Khan is quick enough to negate the speed of Paulie and he has more than enough power to hurt him. Paulie on the other hand has something of an iron chin and he wont be an easy target for Khan to hit.

Of course not, doesn't change the fact he cherrypicked his way there either ;)

Spot on there. I think Khan would win.

  7. I also recommend I love you man. It's brilliant, 'slappin the bass'.

The guy who plays the best friend to Paul Rudd in this film is also in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, while this film isnt on a par with i love you man, its also a decent film and of course the stunning mila kunis certainly helps a bit.

He's also in the TV series How I Met Your Mother...it's like Friends but better scripted, acted, slightly surreal situations and more a comedy than a rom-com.

    Neil Patrick Harris FTW!

    Fixed

Did You Know?: He's a gheyman?

  9. Just found a film with Denzel Washington called Manchurian Candidate. Has anyone seen it and if so, is it any good? I like Denzel but haven't heard of this one before.

It's worth a watch if I remember correctly. By the way, if you like films with Denzel in then you should check out the following (if you haven't already seen them that is):

    Crimson Tide

    Training Day

    Fallen

    Courage Under Fire

    Malcolm X

    Man On Fire

Those are his best films in my opinion, although no doubt other people will have varying opinions. One thing is for sure though, and that is that each of those is worth a watch.

    American Gangster?

    Inside man ain't too bad.

Training day is very good imo.

  10. "Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao’s trusted adviser Michael Koncz says that the WBO welterweight champion will defend his title at the 147 pound limit dispelling reports that he would ask Clottey to agree to a catch-weight of 145 pounds just like he did in the title fight against Miguel Cotto.

Koncz told us there had been no indication from Pacquiao that he wanted to impose a catch-weight and even Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told us earlier in the week that the fight was agreed to at 147 pounds although Pacquiao generally comes in at around 144-145 pounds.

Pacquiao’s lawyer Franklin “Jeng” Gacal was one of those quoted as saying they would push for a catch-weight of 145 but this was expected to get a negative reaction from the foreign media and fight fans who generally frown on catch-weight arrangements pointing out that if a fighter is a champion in a particular weight division he must be prepared to fight at that weight."

    Happy days.
