it's actually posting on another teams football forum that is sad. do you have accounts on the forum of every club?Literally no one here is interested in your opinion. you might as well shout it out the window.

Just the ones that I care about a bit. Here, City forums, think I have an account on an Everton forum. So now you're suggesting that it isn't posting on a forum that's sad, but posting on a forum where you can't get involved in conversations? Because the last few hours have shown me that people seem to want to have a conversation with me, mainly about things that are nothing to do with Delph despite my efforts to talk about him or the transfer

I enjoy a few other fans posting on the board, gives some perspective. As long as they are not gloating etc.

Bit of a fine line unfortunately. I was laughing a bit towards P3te because of his "this is 100% Photoshopped and fake and you're wrong because I'm a graphic designer" stuff. Seemed to have caught up in other things unfortunately.

Turns out that it probably WAS a fake picture he saw, I'm informed by Sky Sources that this is the original

  3. The guy has been on here all day. Prolly cuz the Man City forums are as quiet as the Etihad on a European night.

Our forum has about twice the traffic of VT.

  4. What exactly is wrong in what Richards has said? He loves City and had an awesome time there. Deal with it.

Because he encouraged the Captain of Villa to leave?

If you can't see what's wrong with that then you're mad mate. Yes he didn't force him, but it still falls under "unprofessional" for my money. I wouldn't be pleased if it happened anyway.

Hopefully it's something of nothing and his performances will win the fans round because he really is a good player

  5. In an interview on City's official website, Delph said: "I spoke with Joe Hart when I was with him for England and he was always been telling me how the club has come on and what City are trying to achieve - and Micah Richards told me that as far as he is concerned, this is the best club in the world and he had the time of his life here."

I think this is the quote that's wound most up. Not the patronising Champs league bollocks mentioned above.

I'd be furious if the situations were reversed on that quote admittedly. But to be absolutely fair, he's come through the Academy at City and was here when we were struggling to be midtable yet still kept his place throughout the takeover. He's the type of bubbly type of lad that will have the time of his life in an empty room. And "that patronising Champs League bollocks" if you fancy taking another look at it was an attempt to suggest that he's a quality player who most didn't want to leave and he'd start in that competition thanks to his quality. I'm not sure how calling your right back good enough to start against Barcelona is patronising but I'd congratulate you for finding a way to make it that

Youve got your wires crossed here. I was referring to what sheepyvillain said.

Whoops, my mistake sorry. I wrote about the CL in the post above so presumed you were referring to me

  6. @amc89avfc: Got a mate that works at city - performance analyst and he's just said Delph was in tears during his medical! View

Must of been thinking of all the money he's about to earn.

His medical was done at a hospital in Wilmslow and our Performance Analysis team are in Australia. So that seems a little far fetched

  8. Micah Richards at his uninjured peak is the best right back I've seen at City including Zabaleta.

He apparently told Delph that City have quality players (not rocket science) and he should only leave if he has guarantees of football (which actually annoyed many City fans).

If you don't fancy him then 99% of City fans would have him back tomorrow and have absolutely no qualms about starting him in the Nou Camp which should tell you the level of respect he has amongst the fanbase. No doubt in my mind that he wouldn't seek to undermine Villa in any way at all, and hearing one sentence of a quite probably long conversation has lost some of its meaning and context

  9. “Every time I’ve played against City I’ve been chasing shadows so it’s going to be fantastic to have players such as David Silva, Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Sergio Aguero on my side now,” he smiled.

I want to watch them closely in training and during matches, pick things up from them and adapt parts of their game into mine.

“I’m looking forward to joining up with the lads in Australia and I can’t wait to get started. One thing I can promise is I’ll never stop working hard for the team and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of the City fans.”

so he is preparing for the bench already

You realise that only a single one of those players plays in his position and he's 32 and a mard arse?

  10. Well done to City and the FA aswell, the homegrown rule is sure helping the English national team, all those english players who will be sitting on cities bench.

He's 25 now, he's going to improve more training with world class players every day and playing 25-30 games than training with good Premiership standard players and playing 30-40 games.

Has he signed for then other club in Manchester then? I'll wager you're without a trophy come May next year

Think somebody on here already owes me £100 but I'll take that bet no problem.

  12. I said this on our forum but if I was a Villa fan I'd be absolutely outright fuming at whoever's decision it was to stick a £8m clause in there during a time where we were looking at James McCarthy for potentially £25m or Barkley for potentially £40m. He's singlehandedly cost you probably £10m-£15m which is just negligent

Only it isn't given that if he hadn't signed it you could have signed him on a Bosman this summer already.

Getting him to sign the deal has earned us £8m not cost us £10m-£15m.

So its like you say, only completely the opposite.

Would he not have signed at £9m? What about £8.5m?

And if he's earnt you £8m then it's handshakes all round, job well done and thanks for the memories Delph isn't it? He's done you a favour here by signing that deal and letting himself be bought for £8m rather than walking for free like Milner did for us (to a potential rival, who we congratulated, thanked him for his time and put up nice videos of him on the OS).

If that is, he's earnt you £8m as you say

Perhaps, but then it would have cost us £0.5m or £1m wouldn't it not the £10-£15m you were blathering on about a moment ago.

You clearing didn't have a bloody clue what you were talking about.

And no, he hasn't earnt us £8m given we paid £6m for him.

Your grasp of football knowledge and maths seem to be on par.

Excellent, so you've basically agreed with me that £8m was an arbitary limit and not the exact breaking point of the contract. So we agree that he can move on this, I suggest that a competent negotiator probably could have foreseen this eventuality.

It doesn't matter that you paid £6m of him because he signed a new deal in 2011 and then again six months ago which means he was worth on your book somewhere in the region of about £200k, so you've actually made a £7.8m profit. Maybe amortisation and value is only something that us incompetent mathematicians understand though?

  13. You don't see this as a larger problem that city, while of course not alone, has exacerbated? You have poached our captain for nothing. And it is because of money (not just the money he will get but the money that buys trophies. And yes, money is the single biggest factor of success in this league).

Money was the single biggest factor of success in the league a long, long time before we were taken over or even Chelsea. It's no coincidence that a "Big Four" has developed over the last 30 years, because as your rightly point out, if your best player has a chance to join a title winning team which one will he join? And if two teams come up against each other and one has the vastly superior team, then who is more likely to win? And winning gives you more money than taking part.

Vicious cycle and little to do with us in terms of causation.

I think we're taking advantage of it but after sat there watching our Academy lads be sold out for richer clubs for quite a few years then my acceptance that this is a City based problem isn't exactly high.

  15. Again, I'll ask: is what is happening here (as a microcosm) good for football?

Here what? As in the Delph transfer? I think it will have no impact at all on the overall health of football.

  16. The anger today is not because we are losing a good player, but because if this is true (which it looks like it is), he's shown himself to be a real scumbag. There was no need for him to make a statement last week, he's made a massive error by doing that if he wasn't 100% certain that he was going to stay.

I think that at that point for whatever reason when he backed out then he was dead set on being a Villan player so let your communications team print those words. Now they lookl to haunt him but if his career is to take the direction that he hopes then you'd imagine time will forget it.

On your other point, he's probably not good enough play against a firing on all cylinders Barca. But he probably IS good enough to play against 16 of the 20 teams in the PL with no problem at all which will allow other players to rest for the Barcas rather than 2 games in 5 days. And if he performs well enough then he can earn his spot in the first team. The idea that he's never going to play when we've got Lampard getting 30 games for us last year is a little unrealistic.

I said this on our forum but if I was a Villa fan I'd be absolutely outright fuming at whoever's decision it was to stick a £8m clause in there during a time where we were looking at James McCarthy for potentially £25m or Barkley for potentially £40m. 17. Richards and Barry literally played almost every game in the first title winning season. One was injured and the other didn't even play for us any more in the second. Milner played more games for City than he did for Villa and regularly topped 35+ and then 45+ games.

Not sure your experience playing for your local cricket team is really that comparable to being a world class athlete playing in one of the best leagues in the world in probably the most competitive sport on the planet.

Do you see Delph getting anywhere near that much playing time?

He's a decent player, and certainly good for us, but I can't see him being first choice at Man City.  He's no Jimmy Milner.

I think in a 60 game season then he can hope for 30 appearances or so. We do opften lack a bit of energy in midfield and even Lampard could get that for us last year despite being pretty terrible past Novemberish. We're weak in the centre mid spots so he has as good a chance as any.

It's a bit like John O'Shea at United. Did he expect to play every game? No probably not but it was more fulfilling to be part of a medium sized part of a winning squad that collects medals than a big part of a squad that doesn't.

  18. Did you spend your time seeking out fans of other clubs to rub their noses in it back then as well?

Let's get something straight off the bat here - I came here to read the reactions of Villa fans and posted to point out that P3te's "this is 100% fake" post was laughable and that the deal was happening. Then I responded to several members including yourself had a pop at me for apparent trolling (despite what I said was going to happen is now literally happening) and the club that I support in an unfair way, I'd expect no different from you or anybody else on our forum.

I'm not trying to rub anybody's noses in it, with the possible exception of the Graphic Designer who was clutching at straws harder than a pissed up Tarzan, and have spent most of my time responding in kind. I have no problem with this at all and can take it as well as I can give it, but almost every post here including this one has been in reply to an insult from other people.

Why don't you go back and see who started this little conversation between you and I?

You want to wallow in self-pity and blame the ills of the entire world on Man City then that's absolutely fine, but don't then suggest that it's anything but this

  19. Face it Man City specialise in ruining promising England players careers.

They win medals through part time playing and you only need to look at Richards, Sinclair, Barry and Milner to see that.

Those players would have had much better careers (in terms of maximising individual potential) by being somewhere else.

Forget the medals, in terms of being as good as they could be (player wise), absolutely should have gone somewhere else.

Can anyone who supports Man City seriously expect Delph to be a regular there?

I play cricket at a reasonable level and there is something to be said when you realise your hardly playing in the top team and also having little or no input into a league campaign.

Playing 4 out of 18 first team games and batting 8, does not mean you have earned a medal.

The same goes for those fringe squad players at Man City, they are deluded if they think they have earned those medals.

Having it and feeling like you earned it are very different.

Richards and Barry literally played almost every game in the first title winning season. One was injured and the other didn't even play for us any more in the second. Milner played more games for City than he did for Villa and regularly topped 35+ and then 45+ games.

  20. You mean bought it.

What are you paying your players with?  Chocolate smiles and hopes and dreams?  Funnily enough we had a conversation about 5 years ago on here where you told me that Lerner was a proper owner who was properly investing the Academy where we were an Arab plaything who was going to get bored and walk away.  You were excited to be rich and hoping for lots of investment. Now we have a £300m Academy and you have an owner trying to sell up.

Ah so you agree you won the league because you spent more than anyone else. Good.

And we were never 'rich' even when Lerner was spending money.

Congratulations, your owner is richer than ours that is about what football boils down to these days. We all remember the joke of a club you were a few years ago.

I also remember that Villa were in the lower divisions whilst we were competing with Clough for trophies on the final day. Luckily I never managed to refer to them as a "joke of a club" but this is obviously part of your class that we can't buy.

**** off you limp dick. You can buy our players, but you can't buy class.

I wish I could buy this level of class.

  22.

Man City won't take no for an answer. Money talks, unfortunately.

You're a relegation threatened club who has just sold their best player and a team that has won 2 titles in 4 years has just put in for him.  If you think this is about money then you're just not paying attention.

to be fair you didn't win one of them you just got lucky that QPR hate Man U as much as the rest of us  :)

Oh right, seems I was fooled by the trophy presentation, giving medals out and subsequent open topped bus parade into thinking that we won it.

wow are you still here? Don't you have your own team forum to talk uninteresting bollocks on?

I do but I'm busy reading the uninteresting bollocks on VT at the moment
