  1. Did anyone watch the U21 game last night and wish we had Lansbury instead of Ireland? He seemed to really know that poisiton behind the striker.

the under 21s depress me with how abysmal they are.

im worried that 2 of our so called starlets, cant get into the team.

Well I can understand why The Fonz isn't in the team, there are better players in front of him who have done more than him at Premiership level but why Marc isn't in the team I can't understand!

  2. I think the reaction is bonkers Julie and I really believe that the majority of the reaction is down to the fact that he is has been Birminghams manager for the past few years..
It has very little to do with that! It's his shit football, shit signings and the fact that he's gotten a team relegated twice in the last 4 seasons. Admittedly, it is bad that he's come SHA, but only because when anyone tries to express their disapproval of the appointment people just come back with "you're only saying that because he managed Birmingham".

Is it four full seasons or three and a half? He came in halfway through the first relegation during his stay did he not?

I know his football is uninspiring, defensive, boring etc. We haven't played like brazil in a while though ourselves.

I am not just coming back with the SHA connection because people are showing their disapproval. People showed their disapproval at McClaren, this takes it to a far more serious scale than that and you know it.

People keep talking about the top four but we are miles away from that. Which is a great shame, but with the money at that end of the table I don't believe we can compete now. We got close under MoN and if we could get to that level again I would personally be very happy.

  3. Everyone I've spoken to says AM is an honest, decent guy. I could see him fitting in well with RL.

But it's just the whole thing is bonkers!

I think the reaction is bonkers Julie and I really believe that the majority of the reaction is down to the fact that he is has been Birminghams manager for the past few years.

Sure he was relegated twice with them (possibly only one of those drops was his fault), sure he is an uninspiring choice but the reaction has been crazy. I really feel like a lot of our fans have let the club down. I mean graffiti?! That is a stupid and childish thing to do to your own club.

I wouldn't have picked him in a million years. I am not happy about it. Although one thing is for sure folks, nothing will stop me supporting the Villa. Nothing.

  4. It is him. Media have confirmed he's expected to sign within 24 hours. They've been given the nod. Won't be confirmed on SSN until it's on our website which is standard practice.

so are you ITK or just an attention whore?

or isnt it the same thing anyway according to you?

We talked about this earlier, just call him Dick.

  5. Just keeping it real guys. I want Moyes as much as the next man but washed up ex players aren't ITK. Regardless of who we appoint MM has covered all bases with his BS

Stop getting on like a child mate. MM was in ITK! While I don't know much about YorkshireCoop, I am willing to listen to what he has to say. Lets face it if he isn't ITK then big deal, it would be just one more person talking crap in this thread.

Round and round and round and round.

    Circles...

  6. Right all the "fans" who genuinely believe Mcleish is likely to be the new boss all need to post "im a muppet" when the new manager is announced and its not Mcleish. MM has also said "its not going to be Mcleish" not that it changes alot. The Mcleish scenario is another smokescreen. Where's Everton's official "Moyes is going nowhere"? Kenwright and Moyes are both very quiet considering usually they are very quick to put things to bed. A look at a few of Everton's message boards reveal panic and ive even read a few Everton "itk's" saying that "Moyes will be resigning" "Moyes has agreed 3.75 million 5 year deal with Villa" "Hughes imminent" etc. Id be very surprised now if we dont get Moyes put it that way. Laugh if you wish but it makes alot of sense to me.

Even Krulak himself has told "fans" to stop jumping on the media bandwagon as the media are totally clueless. First Benitez, Then Mclaren, Then Martinez and now Mcleish??. Come on people. Think about it. They are chasing shadows and just guessing. They have nothing solid to go on. The same as us. Randy has always liked Moyes. Moyes is the target again thats obvious. He has been very quiet for the last 3 weeks. Villa have been very quiet. Everton have been very quiet and Kenwright has been very quiet.

I like you, and I like how you are thinking. I will keep the faith and pray for Moyes. I have all sorts of people texting me about this, bets in work that he won't be manager. Lets see...

  7. @Back2Fight: Radio City now reporting that David Moyes has resigned as Everton manage

I am trying not to let myself get excited about this rumour (?) just now. I'll wait until morning to see if there is official word from Everton...

Won't be able to sleep though.

  8. I understand that Mr Lerner will be back in Birmingham tomorrow morning.

    Where's he flying in from?

That is as far as I go. Nothing cryptic, but it's not relevant.

I wonder if tomorrow will bring us all some much anticipated news? I for one will be glad to see all this over, I have been dreaming about the managerial situation for the last week!

Then we can all move onto the summer transfers & kit (what new kit?) threads

  9. What are these ITK's about Moyes?

He has been my one choice from the off, I don't want to, and I'm trying not to build my hopes up for disappointment!

Look through past few pages for quotes on villa_insider or look on twitter for villa_insider

    Speculation then?

Or is this villa_insider realy ITK?

  10. Well if they pay 20m for Henderson then no way should they get Downing for any less than 30m (and no I don't think he's worth that).

I personally think that is wishful thinking on a massive scale man. We have a habit at the Villa of letting our players go on the cheap. Not that I think Downing will go on the cheap.

Henderson has/had four years left on his contract, Downing has two. Henderson is 20, Downing is 26. Some will argue that Downing has had the best season or his career to date, I would agree, and is nearing his peak. Henderson has also has the best season of his young career but he has plenty of time to develop into a much better player.

Henderson is a good young player but nowher near worth the 20 million they are seemingly will to pay. I don't think Downing will be going anywhere until the new man is in charge, he can make the decision.

I shall put the Ireland signing purely down to the fact that he was a major part of the Milner deal, giving Randy the benifit of the doubt. Any club that has it's chairman sign or pick player is rotten in my eyes.
