  1. I think it will be a better final with Barcelona, and Man Utd will have a better chance to win.

Stretford, I think your hatred of Chelsea is blinding you seriously here. I doubt you'd call for Rooney to get a similar ban for his actions if he acted as Diddy did.

You have to accept that Chelsea got mighty unlucky tonight, and did you a massive favour on the way by eliminating both Barca full backs from the final.

I seem to remember a certain Mr Shrek having a quite violent tantrum at Fulham a few weeks back? :winkold:

Needless to say, he started on the corner flag to show everyone what a big, bad man he is.

  2. Statistically, Chelsea under Avram Grant actually were the 2nd best team in Europe because they played the UEFA Champions League Final. Under Hiddink, they've not reached the final, therefore they're 3rd in Europe, surely?

    That's statistically.

My opinion is that Chelsea are the 2nd best team in europe.

And i agree. Easily the best two teams in europe.

  3. The Ballack and Drogba decisions were irrelevant to the result.

Those Abidal ones where always get given, they're unfortunate, but if the attacker is in front of the defender and the defenders run across him and trips him, it'll be given as a foul.

Irrelevant to this result yes, but they deserve to be suspended for at least their next Champions League match in the 2009/10 Group Stages, if not 3 matches.

It's a shame that Abidal will miss the final, I think everyone in football regardless of who you support wants to see the best players in the final, and for players to be suspended for that game is always saddening.

I think if UEFA learn anything from the last 2 nights, its to appoint experienced, competent referees for their big matches, and to allow appeals on red-card decisions.

    ......but not penalty decisions? :winkold:

  4. Cannot for the life of me see how either of the first two were pens. Both dives and both just looking for a pen. The two hand balls on the other hand... hope that ref never sees as much as a blade of grass again. And Ballack should have seen red.

I cant even beggin to describe how dumb Redknap is.

The Malouda one was a clear penalty to be fair. He turns him, is still in control of the ball, and gets strangled round the throat. Stonewall.

All I can see is two players turning for a ball and getting tangled up. After a bit of pushing and pulling on both parts, as soon as he got in the box, he dropped like a sack of potatoes.

No, Malouda is in posession of the ball, turns him and attempts to change direction, and is clearly blocked off by Alves' arm across his throat. He makes no attempt to play the ball, and it's a definite pen.

  6. The referee WAS shocking tonight and so i can see (to a certain extent) why Chelsea feel so aggreived, however tonight and overall in the tie, decisions went against BOTH teams, and that's just football.

I'm sure Chelsea won't be complaining about the penalty Henry should have had in the Nou Camp? Nor appealing against Abidal's false red card after Anelka had tripped over his own legs?

Yes, Chelsea had three stonewall penalties turned down tonight, but truth be told, the real frustration within the Chelsea ranks is not with the referee, but their inability to do what Villa have failed to do recently and close the game off.

Or will they be blaming all their missed chances on the referee as well?

  7. Lower North H90.

    So much fun!

Lower North looks quite good now mate with the banter with the away fans!

And a fair few songs now come from there, louder than the bloody Holte half the time

  8. aaaaaaah, prespective restored.

How is it? Because you've dragged up a post from years ago? You can't even spell it right.

We're a completely different team now, with different expectations. Stop trying to point score :| .

  9. I have read a few threads stating that we are lucky to have MON. Maybe so, but i was always brought up on the old addage, 'the club is bigger than anyone.'

I rather tend to think that although MON is a good manager, he has yet to prove that he is a great manager with any of his clubs! It is he who is lucky to be the manager of our great club and i have yet to hear him saying this. He is also lucky to be given complete control of team affairs and transfers and to have a chairman who indeed backs him 100%.

Just getting a little pissed off with the opinion that we all should bow down and be eternally grateful when in the presence of the great MON, who hasn't won anything yet! I also tend to agree with those who suggest that spending 90 million should have secured at least sixth place! I don't think Randy would have settled for much less?

I'll state again, i voted undecided and will wait until the end of MON's so called '5 year plan' before giving a final opinion on his overal performance?

Brilliant post mate and echo my thoughts entirely, even though I still voted Yes. Not that you should have to explain yourself to anyone.

MON is privilleged to be at our famous old football club and not the other way around- FACT.

  10. Yes, no doubt, but that doesn't mean he gets everything correct, and I believe it's every persons right to voice an opinion on such matters, without being called names or placed in to silly pigeon holes, as some like to do on here.

Here here. As i've already said- i voted Yes- but people are entitled to vote 'No' and i'm sure they have reasons for doing so.

  11. Ibiza. Can you even call the others clubbing? Yes there are clubs, yes there is booze, but the actually clubbing cannot be compared with Ibiza.

Agreed Magaluf doesnt come close theres like 1 decent club compared to about 10 in Ibiza. Went there in August hoping to go back again this year as going anywhere else would be like an anticlimax in comparison

When in August did you go last year? I was there end of the month.

Hoping to do the opening and closing parties this year- do a week for each, can't wait  .

What nights did you go to?

Only been to two of the above, but having been to Ibiza i'd not want to go anywhere else to be honest, the famous white isle was amazing.

Sitting on Bora Bora Beach, about 35 degrees C, sipping an ice cold Miller, listening to minimal tunes from the bar being pumped out in the middle of the day...that to me is heaven
