  1. I think MON or Keane would do good at Forest. I did see a rumour on twitter though that O'Leary was a front runner for the job. That could be funny.

I think Pat Murphy on 5Live was also giving Lerner shit for not interviewing McClaren and saying how perfect he would be for Villa. Thank god we didn't get that clown. I'll take McLeish anyday over Schteve.

  2. Whelan is trying to create a bidding war just like he basically made it impossible for Martinez not to stay at Wigan when he went public with our approach. He is just working the situation for his benefit and is behaving like a prick.

He's a bit like Ian Holloway, the media love him but I think he's a complete clearing in the woods.

  3. Whelan is nothing but a gob shite.

He is trying to save face as usual.

Trying to imply that I tried to keep Zog. I tried to get the best price.

I won't let Villa interview Martinez.

Even though Villa were discrete and quiet about business I am going to turn it into a bloody circus if I can.

I would be very surprised if Zog is not in the bag already.

To be revealed on Tuesday with Given in our new home shirt.

    Trying to boost sales.

I hope Parker is holding a shirt too.

    wow. Is that a poem?

  4. Gareth Barry was a much better player than Stewart Downing and worth fighting for.

Downing is a money grabbing selfish prick who I was not a fan of before we signed him, but he did win me over last season. Guess I'm back to thinking he is a piece of shit.

His agent must also be a complete cock. Hope none of our other players are involved with that guy.

  5. Excited about Given. Not sure why people are too concerned with the shoulder. Downing had a broken ankle when he joined and he was our player of the year last season. Players get injured and then they recover.

Given was awesome at Newcastle for many years and I'm sure will do well for us for a couple seasons more to come. He is the best option that was available to us without doubt.

  6. We can probably expect something like this from Whelan:

"We've accepted an offer from Aston Villa who have behaved impeccably and professionally throughout our dealings. Charles has been given permission to go and talk with Villa, who are a massive club, much bigger than us to be fair but I have a feeling Charles will stay with us. I think he feels he owes us another year to see if we can maybe get to 16th in the league and perhaps the 4th round of the FA Cup with a bit of luck."

Next day N'Zogbia will sign a new contract with Wigan and smug face Whelan will be taking the piss out of us again.

  7. don't understand the negative response to Given. Before he went to City he was probably the best keeper in the league and is 5 years younger than Friedel who was excellent but not as good as Given a couple of years back. The wages I'm sure won't be as high as suggested but I'd love Given at Villa. Better than Green, Foster, Al-habsi, Guzan etc etc.

  8. I won't be going until AM gets the bullet.

Even if we get back in the top 6? Speculative I know but we don't know how it's going to turn out. Our displeasure with the appointment of McLeish should be aimed at Lerner, Faulkner and Krulak, not Alex.

Fair enough not renewing but you are saying you will go back when McLeish is gone. You are okay with the people that appointed him then?

  9. I'm not a supporter of the decision to employ McLeish but I have been doing some research. Earlier I posted the link to that story about his time with Houllier at Lyon. Here is another story where Dick Advocaat speaks of McLeish's qualities when he got the Rangers job. It is interesting stuff.

    http://bbc.in/mphWWw

Those will be the same qualities that saw McLeish lead Ranger to 3rd place in a 2 team league I presume?

He also won it a few times. People said they would prefer Benitez who took Liverpool to 7th and 5th in a 4 team league.

McLeish will be our manager. I was just trying to look beyond the obvious and attempt to find something positive and try and understand why our board have decided he is the man to lead our club.

  10. He is not to blame for this and by all accounts he's not a bad bloke.

Could care less if he is the new Mother Theresa he is a shit manager!!!

How many people have you heard say 'SAF is a really nice bloke' or 'that Mourinho fella's a real saint' ????? I would rather hear 'he's a bit of a cock but a great manager'

I can never understand why people put so much kudos on a manager being 'a really nice bloke' it's irrelevant!!

What you have to remember is Randy is the Yankie version of a public schoolboy born with a silver spoon in his gob!! He is all about jobs for the boys and he puts too much emphasis on getting on with the people who work for him!! Remember Randy doesn't know hardship, he never HAD to work a day in his life, he has never known what it's like to worry about bills and day to day living and he doesn't understand the passion that this beautiful game instills in people! Never will!!

totally agree Delboy, I was just trying to say that McLeish should not be made a figure of hate. It's his new bosses that should feel our anger, not the manager until he has demonstrated what kind of football his team are going to play.

  11. It looks like its going to happen and there is nothing we can do about it so I preparing myself to support our players and give McLeish a chance. He is not to blame for this and by all accounts he's not a bad bloke.

However I have lost most of my respect for Lerner and Faulker and that is where my anger and displeasure will be directed. They are the ones that have **** us, not McLeish.

Could you bring yourself to sing his name?

Ive thought hard and long about this, and i really dont think i could.

Not yet. It will certainly take time but I'm not going to abuse him from day one. He gets a clean slate with me and how we play and what he does with our team will determine what happens.

But as I said Lerner can **** off for this.
