  1. Doug Ellis.. i can understand.. he loved the club and loved being the owner of the club he loved.. and he didnt have the finance to support the club.

Randy.. what is the point? You dont love the club. Its a business.. yet you have accepted to become mid table mediocrity... you wont make money? just sell up and go.. i cant see the point of him staying? for him ?

When did Randy say he didnt love the club?

    Talk is cheap.

    Actions speak louder.

  2. I had a really sad moment last night with my 8 year old boy. I told him he couldn't have a new Villa shirt as I am not putting a penny into our club after this.

    nice

I know but what's the alternative? Mindlessly handing over money when they have committed the biggest betrayal of Villa fans in my lifetime?

There are things Aston Villa Football Club should never do. Tapping up the manager of Birmingham City is one of them.

Yes, it´s probably best to take it out on your son... He is a kid FFS.

Exactly, it's your **** kid. He's a kid, if you usually buy him a shirt and were planning too this season, why should that be stopped?? you care more about Villa appointing a manager you don't like? :?

So what do you do then? Just keep doling out the money as if nothing has happened? For me, it becomes a matter of principle.

What do I do? well personally speaking, I keep going to Villa, I think this is a dire choice of management but I'm a fan of Aston Villa, I don't think any manager would stop me going from full stop or buying Villa shirts. Clearly you don't want to do that, so fair enough, your thoughts but why take it on your son?

You honestly would rather see your son upset because he can't get a shirt, just because you don't like a manager at Villa? I think that's quite sad, should be proud of being a Villa fan, not telling him he can't go to games or buy any stuff because you don't like the manager. Might as well just support another club to be honest.

Love how some of you lot think you've got an opinion on how he should treat his son. His money, his lad, he can do what the **** he wants if he feels that way. Jesus.

    Top post.

  3. How does chanting "**** off small health" and "ginger c***" on national television show any integrity whatsoever?

This is Birmingham, not the leafy lanes of Kent. Poor language isnt a barometer of integrity. There was no violence, no vandalism and I haven't heard of any arrests.

I am afraid that poor language chanted en masse is a barometer, unless you believe that there are no decent people in Birmingham and that our women, children and old people should be subjected to this kind of thing.

Poor language? You having a giraffe? What do hear at every match across the country?

    Right??

And that makes it right does it??

    No.

But as a barometer, it's a mute **** point. As all people attending football must be of a lower class.

    Kabish?

  5. Not being funny but I would be far more concerned if we brought in another Euro-sop with no Premiership experience than I would if we sign AM. Where are the European coaches who have genuinely proven themselves over here ?

    Wenger

    Mancini

    Ancelotti

    Mourinho

    Benitez

    Hiddink

I think he meant which we could employ right now.

How many of them 'had proven themselves in the prem' when appointed in the prem?

  6. Can you imagine how stupid the fans, myself included, will look if we don't give the job to AM? Graffiti (not me), protesting (again, not me) and moaning on the boards (ok a bit of this is me) and he was only ever a candidate. Particularly as some (not me) have already asked for Lerner OUT and given votes of no confidence based on a potential decision.

Here's hoping AM doesn't meet the criteria.

Might record talkSPORT tonight from 4pm just to hear Durham tear our club and fans to shreds with his horseshit.

Well maybe they will feel there voices were heard.

  7. I was wary about Randy's appointments at the Browns and now he's translating it here. He should be banned from making these decisions.

You're right.. What right does the owner of a business have to appoint senior executives that he feels are right fit for the strategy he has in mind for his business?

After spending £65 million buying the business and then investing upwards of £150m on the infrastructure of that business, all from his family's wealth, he should now step back from making any decisions on how he feels is the best way to protect and grow that investment.

    Loaned the business £150m.

In exactly the same way that Abramovich, Mansour etc loaned money to the business. He could have gone the Glazer route and mortgaged the business against itself. I know which investment option I prefer.

I think you'll find the terms of the loan to be the same, either way it to be funded.

    Debt is debt.

  9. Just chatting to an Evertonian and he seems convinced we're still in debt, is this true? (on topic because i'm talking to him about Moyes).

Can't say I know much about our economic situation, but I assumed we were in debt by quite a bit of money so I wouldn't find that very surprising at all to be honest.

Hasn't Lerner loaned the money he invests in players instead of gifting it.

  10. The whole club needs a lift after the rollercoaster of the last 12 months

Martinez is quite simply not the right fit

We have been knocked back, so he's about 4th choice and we have no choice.

How do you know Lerner hadn't turned'em down? Its like hiring Houllier, stupid.

    Turn it in knob jockey.

The caliber of people being linked were all not suitable in Lerner's opinion.

  11. if martinez rejects us, i'll be very worried about our boards ambitions. This time last week it was #carlo2villa.

I actually think if he rejects us it wont be the fact that were not big enough its the fact he's on a good thing at Wigan currently has a chairman he works well with used to play for the club and is emotionally attached thats my ten cents on the matter fair play to the bloke tbh not much loyalty in football anymore i think thats why Coyle wont join us either if we go for him next.

So why talk in the first place and why have we been knocked back a few times already.

    :o

Because both Roberto and Whelan are gentleman who have a good relationship with each other and perhaps they have an agreement between them where he will not deny him the chance if a big club comes calling.

Roberto would be stupid to knock us back immediately of course he's going to talk to us to begin with and mull it over.

Right so listen, mull it over and decide he doesn't like what he's hearing.

    Seems to be a pattern.

  13. Now would you all take back these comments if we hire Martinez and we finish 4th next year, win the FA Cup whilst playing Barcelona'esq type football with Richard Dunne being fundamental to our success? ;)

I tell ya what, if that happens i'll give you £100K. If it don't, you give me £1K.

    ? No, thought not.

  14. problem is that too many think we are bigger than we actually are. when i mentioned to others that we were going for ancelotti, they laughed in my face. that is what we are now...as holloway said "used to be famous". we were never going to attract a big name, and IMO if we had, they would considered themselves bigger than the club.

Martinez will use this club as his big break. Somewhere where he can actually have funds to spend and a squad with talent FAR superior to anything he's managed before. It will be a challenge, sure, but every manager has to start somewhere.

I honestly think some people on here expected RL to go for Guardiola and Jose...

Yep after all the names we have been linked, most likely they have been asked but said no thank you.

  15. I hope this gets resolved soon. As much as I love all the speculation it's starting to get into my dreams. Last night I dreamt I was just trying to convince Ancelotti to come to Villa over Arsenal and Man U.

How was you trying to convince him?

  16. When talking about "Bent meltdown" the only manager to cause such a scene would be Moyes.

Ancelotti? Not really, he has been mentioned in the media and I think all should see the possible downside in having him here. A very expensive mistake so to speak.

Imagine the crowd at Villa Park when he signed

It's surely only a case if Moyes would come, because if Lerner had the chance and never took it with both arms, then the Villa is fooked going forward.

  17. I wonder if Chelsea are as impatient as we are.

They've been managerless since the 22nd May!

In actual fact... GH still manages us according to Wikipedia....?!

They know someone with pedigree will be appointed, so they can chillax.

  18. What do you expect seriously its been 6 days since houlliers test confirmed he couldnt carry on, you may say its been a month but thats rubbish they intended to keep gh on if health was not an issue he'd still be our manager. Not even a week and weve got raging "fans" going mental because randy hasnt appointed the first man to hand in his cv. :bang:

It's because of who we are strongly being linked with, that is bringing the frustration to the surface in many fans.
