Pau Torres was exceptional last night, strong when he needed to be, skilful with the ball and a great range of passing.

Absolutely - he could easily have been motm as well.

I didn’t say you wernt allowed to criticise people for their opinion it’s a forum after all. Your point was this is why we support and don’t criticise.

The point is that blind support isn’t always correct if a player isn’t up to it then they deserve criticism. Bailey wasn’t up to it and I’m sure Unai criticised him and did drop him. Are you supporting Dendocker, Traore, Chamber et al?

Bailey has turned the corner and come back stronger and I’m all for it, happy to give players like Zaniolo the benefit of time aswell but at the moment his performances don’t deserve blind support either.

I agree with you - it’s documented that I have been critical of Bailey - I think he has been poor way longer, than he has been good for us. His recent form for me, has been a very pleasant surprise and something I did not see coming. But I maintain that my reservations were valid based upon the length of time that he was underperforming. Zaniolo and Tielemans have both received a lot of criticism on here, yet have been here for a very short time in comparison, and in my view both deserve our support, although fortunately YT is now proving to be the player, we all hoped he would be.

Feels like he is getting worse. The difference between this guy and Bailey is that the latter was still scoring and assisting whilst not playing great.

Let’s have it right - Bailey is doing well at this moment, however you simply cannot just ignore, that he has also been pretty dreadful for a significant period.

I am willing to give NZ more time to prove himself, as I believe there is a player in there.

I guess all he would ask is for the same level of patience that was afforded to Bailey ? Surely this is not unreasonable is it.

Not brilliant last night BUT still provided yet another inch perfect speed perfect assist for Diaby.  Its a wonderful skill to have to be able to play a daisycutter like he does. And they are coming more and more often .We take advantage so clinically. Which is due to the quality of our players.

With him, performing nicely and JJ returning - there is serious competition to some very gifted footballers in our midfield

Anyone who's ever played competitive football at any level has seen, dished out or been on the receiving end of that tackle several times a season. Deserving of a yellow because he was nowhere near the ball, but this outcry is mental

Absolutely this - it’s not as though Cash is some silent assassin, who has made a name out of GBH on fellow pros.

It was a poorly timed tackle and a definite yellow. The tackle of a player not coping with his role or pace of the game. But bringing a player back for his first game that was played at such an intense pace didn't help. Nor, I suspect, did him not finishing getting full treatment and jumping up to walk on it and berating Cash. Surely that added more weight to the area and damage?!

I think you make some good points - and let’s be fair, Cash is not the sort of player to set out to deliberately hurt another player.

Mistimed, awkward, poorly judged - Call it what you will, intentional never.

Spuds fans will be upset at losing another player, and I don’t blame them but it’s football and we as much as anyone have a right to curse our luck.

I'm a fan but he was off it today and with another ref would've easily been sent off.

Good decision by the manager to take him off at half time as they'd have targeted him second half and his mentality wasn't quite there so would've been vulnerable.

Will start midweek but not sure about Bournemouth as think UE might use this to send a little message.

I’m not sure I agree tbh - Cash wouldn’t deserve to be left out, based upon yesterday imho.

Of course I might be totally wrong - but I don’t feel this is  UE’s method of doing things ??

becoming more and more impressed......when he can stay on the ball and resist a challenge.....he is an artist.

His ability to pass between the lines, is superb and he picks out Ollie, like he did Vardy.

He has attributes, that are really compelling.

I make you right TRO - I felt from the get go there were signs of his qualities, even though he wasn’t playing particularly well.

He is playing himself into being an integral part of what we are hoping to achieve.

Not done enough to warrant a new improved deal until recently and that is still arguable, he's entering the stags now where we either sell him or he has us over a barrel regards to pushing for a big wage rise vs leaving on a free transfer.

It's a tough one. I'd give him a deal that matches his current one for another two years take it or find him a new club in the summer.

Absolutely - look he has done much better this season - but frankly he has been very poor overall since he joined us.

From what I can see - he seems a guy with a lot of common sense - so I wouldn’t expect him to be looking to hold the club to ransom, but if so - frankly he can do one

Can't wait for the YouTube Clip

" Now look at Leon's numbers... And look at Jude Bellingham, Mbappe and Julian Alvarez numbers... Mark my words... Leon Bailey will be the best player in the world in 2024... Would you insult the best player in the world by only offering them 150,000 pounds per week?

This relationship has now been dismantled by the disrespect of Aston Villa, we will go where we are valued "

Sorry I’m late to this party - this is a joke isn’t it? - apologies if I have missed something ?

Can’t wait for his contract to be over. His first season was fun, and he showed some true quality, but he’s costing us £9m a year in FFP costs. He never seems to be available to play for us, and that’s probably one of the reasons we didn’t get a suitable offer for him in the summer. No room for sentiment.

Are you sure about this? He has been in a lot of our recent match day squads and is probably the most naturally gifted player in the club imo.

I think he is a fantastic footballer who I always enjoy watching and again in my humble opinion is the only slight disappointment in Unai’s tenure - although I fully accept this is not a view shared by many.

It's great that we were able to facilitate a proper recovery rather than having to have him come back early from a lack of choice.

I agree - Digne has played very well this season and will be unfortunate to lose his place in the team, but this guy is a little bit special and offers that us, that little bit of magic, that despite playing superbly Digne cannot.

  13. My only disappointment about Unai is his use of Bertie, although I acknowledge I am most likely in a minority here.

There is just something about Bertie that I really enjoy watching - one of the most naturally gifted footballers we have had at VP imo

  14. When I speak of Big Ron - I don’t necessarily think of what we won under him, more so the whole match day experience.

It was so entertaining for a period of his tenure.
It really was footballing theatre in every sense.

I just loved to watch us spray the ball around at pace and with purpose.

Unai - I believe will deliver us more in terms of trophies won - fingers crossed 🤞

We finished second under Ron so are you full-on calling Emery as going to win us the league? Fair play if so

Given time and appropriate resources - nothing would surprise me with him.

Just think where we would be sitting right now, if we had beat Forest. However it’s still very early into his tenure to be suggesting this season 👍🏻
