Then we need to get one of them, then....what World class manager, would you suggest.
I think, Conte is up there, with the best.....as is Jose......hiw did they get on with Deli Alli or Harry Winks.
I seem to recall, Antonio was making noises to leave, until he found Levy's Wallet.
Managers do many things, its not all coaching, its recruitment too......its all the elements coming together.
We knew, we had a relatively inexperienced manager, maybe we didn't realise, how experienced you have to be in this league......I think he needs time, I don't think he will get.
We might not get a world class one, but we should be able to find one who is better than Gerrard because he's hopeless

Not as a balance......who can defend?......who can score?.....who can hold a midfield together?.....who can head the ball, with any competence?.....who has pace?.....who can stay on the ball with the ability of Jack?
Maybe you need to think again.
Its probably the most expensive squad, we have had for years, thats a difference.....They flatter to deceive.
Because of the manager.
Look at Spurs. Emerson Royal, Sessegnon, Dier, Hojbjerg etc haven't suddenly got better as individuals by themselves
They have a world class manager who makes everyone better
When players underperform as a collective, it sits with the manager, always has done, always will

The world isn't black and white, it's not hypocrisy to change ones opinion based on the circumstances.
Fans don't seem to understand games beyond individual moments.
Mings influence goes beyond the times he's individually involved. He's one of our only leaders, does all the talking and organising, he's the only with any presence. One of those players who makes those around him better.

He's obviously hinting at that - Dortmund press deny it and now he's recycling TalkSport. He doesn't know anything about our transfer dealings.
Guy who famously knows lots about transfers knows nothing about transfers, you're right...

Romano is talking rubbish - in May he said Carney was off to Dortmund. The £20m figure is rubbish from Talksport. Tap-in merchant.
He didn't say that at all.
And it not happening doesn't mean Dortmund didn't want him in May.

Isn’t “Richly” more of a wide attacker, rather than a CF?
He got moved up front and was excellent there tbf

I'm excited about the future under Gerrard but I'm the same when it comes to hearing about that stupid table.
It's the only fair way to judge him

Put me in the camp that thinks it’s good leadership and encouraging that Stevie empowers his assistants to the point where the players respect their impact to the level Emi is describing. That’s a pro, not a con, to me.
No offence, but that's bollocks.
This is an inexperienced manager who is over reliant on someone, to the point where Beale sounds like the manager and Gerrard merely sounds like a figurehead

I'm very unconvinced on this Diego Carlos becomes the ball playing CB.
He plays more passes than Mings but not many progressive passes at all. Koundé was near the top of progressive passes for CBs last season. I get the impression that Carlos played a lot of passes to Koundé who then played the ball out.
Carlos has been said to have been the better defender of the two last year. I buy that. I don't buy that Carlos was the ball playing one.
Flawed logic.
Kounde being the ball playing CB doesn't mean Carlos hasn't been bought to be our ball playing CB

I’d lay off the class A stuff if I was you
We wouldn't have got promoted without him.
Without promotion we would have been **** financially.

We would have had 1/3 more points if we'd have avoided defeat and stopped them winning the title. Obviously was still a mostly meaningless game for us, but I'd like us to get every point we can.
Is he a Villa legend though?
Yes.
We'd be in the championship without him, possibly league 1 and possibly in financial ruin

Thing is his success directly at came at the expense of ours today. If we hadn't thrown that lead away he wouldn't have a PL medal.
Not really. If we'd drawn, we'd have finished 14th. We lost therefore we finished 14th.

Why?
Because he's a Villa legend, from Solihull, and he deserves it

Most definitely if you're an average player. But as a world class player, surely you'd want to contribute more to a title win? All the talent in the world and he's pretty much just a cheerleader that's sometimes used for spare parts in the biggest machine in football.
World class players don't want to finish 14th either

Jack vindicated.
Winning the title as a squad player>>>finishing 14th
Really happy for him.

What a **** signing!

We were 13th when he was fit and playing everyweek under the clown Bruce
If Bruce stayed the season would it have been as successful with his one crippled centre back
That's got **** all to do with what we're discussing

Thought you were joking earlier. **** sake
I remember Jack saves in the West Brom shootout and his defensive performance in the Playoff final when Mings got injured and all them goals he scored dressed as Tammy Abraham
Roy of the Rovers for the Tiktok era
Grealish missed 15 games through injury that season
We won 3, drew 7 and lost 5. That's 16 points from 15 games.
Across a season, that would have seen us finish 20th.
With Grealish, we got 17 wins, 9 draws in 31 games. That would have put us 2nd across a season. We also won our play off games with him.
You can pretend it wasn't down to him, but the stats don't lie.

Who cares?
Doesn't change the fact that we'd be championship at best without him, and possibly in financial ruins/further down the leagues as worst case. His contribution to getting us in the PL and keeping us there far outweighs anything he said.
