Don't know about Villa bound but I seem to remember when we signed Heskey that they made sure they had Rodallega in first. I wouldn't be dissapointed if this were the case. I think a strikeforce of Gabby, Carew, Delfouneso (who for what its worth I would send on loan for a season to someone like Leeds) Keane (if the talk in the Keane thread is true) and Rodallega would be pretty dangerous. Unfortunately I think its more of a case of one or the other and I think it will be Keane.

Boateng has impressed me aswell. Portsmouth need any money they can get, his value won't increase despite his contribution to Ghana's qualifiction. For 6-8 million we could probably get the player Sidwell should have been.

I posted this a couple of pages back but nobody replied either because you think he's shit or woulden't mind him. Joe Ledley of Cardiff. Looks a nice bit of Welsh talent for a couple of million would be nicely suited at us!

Out of contract this summer I think - would fit in nicely but not sure he is better than what we have.

And if Cardiff get promoted I can't see him leaving. Not a bad player though.

It's never gonna happen but i'd love to see Fonz play up front with Gabby, think they'd be frightening. All the hold up play that Carew is used for Gabby is just as capable but far more mobile.

This is why I do my nut about O'Neill. Predictable team selection, predictable performance. Just very, very average.

Carew 9/10 will take those chances and Cuellar from 6 yards has to be scoring.

I want to see Delph in an advanced role of the three centres, I think he and the Fonz could get something going.

Still I think we'll see 4-4-2 with all the usuals.

Not even close, Tranmere all the way. For as long as I live I will never forget Dalian Atkinsons mazy run into the box, in the last couple of minutes of injury time, willing him to score so we didn't have to face the potential agony of the penalty shootout. No matter- Bosnich the hero.

I would love us to play 4-5-1, with the 3 behind Gabby it's nowhere near a negative formation. It would enable us to dictate the game which we do nowhere near enough, especially at home. Then if needeed we can swap a DM for another striker. But we all know what the formation will be.
