I don't get what the fuss is about, I thought Kappa were Italys biggest sports brand? Certainly bigger than Macron Ellesse or Diadora no?

They've been making kits for big teams for as long as I can remember

I mean they aren't as big as Adidas or Nike, but they've certainly been around a long time and worked with some big clubs.

A lot of people really love this years strip, they are going to have their work cut out following on from that. I look forward to seeing what they come up with, I wont be judging them until I can see what they are going to offer!

    Hmm.

In isolation, whatever. Probably still on a high from the Semi.

However, he has previous of this, I'd have hoped he'd have learned.

I don't think it's too bad, but it is something the press could jump on if they wanted to or they will save  it for the worst possible time for him. I don't mind him having a good time when the time is right, and well over a week before a game is fine by me, he just needs to be a bit more careful when he's out.

Yep. Pretty decent compared to the boring generic types umbro roll out for every team they are with.

Collars a bit out of date with the fashion of today, but I like it, nice and simple.

Sky were showing that football gold thing earlier between derby and forest from 2014. That was easily the best and most lively derby kit ever. They were with kappa. And when you consider there isn't a whole lot you can do with a white shirt, black shorts - very good effort.

    Do you mean this one?

Dont know whats more ridiculous.  Mings worth 3.15m or Richards worth 450k.

I do love that website, but the valuations of the players are all over place and bear no resemblance to reality 😆

    Absolutely absurd.

Baku the choice with 10000 tickets for each team is bad enough, but one of the team's best players not able to travel due to his own safety?

    Should be rearranged right now.

That's mental, imagine if it was one of their better players...

Would love us to go after Kalvin Phillips if we get promoted. I've been really impressed with him everytime I've seen him this season.

Must say I'm not a fan, I think he's a good player and would probably improve us in that area, but I don't like his attitude. I've only seen him a few times but on each occasion there were very reckless challenges and generally being a nasty so and so. I'm all for having a snotter, but they need to play hard and fair, not sure this guy understands the fair part and could be a liability should we go up and have to deal with VAR.

  8. I'll be very interested to see what Kappa come up up with for us, I've always had a mixed reaction to their kits for other teams. I do like the recent stuff they've done for Torino and Betis, but I really don't like what they've done with Napoli this year...

I hope they try to keep it simple, not try to do too much.

Thing is, £25m is nothing for a striker now. Bournemouth paid £19m for Solanke who has scored 1 in 36 games in English football!

Absolutely, £25m for a young hungry English striker, who has a good goal record and is already integrated into your squad and system is a bargain. A dodgy season in the Premier League for a poor team, where he still scored 5 in 15 starts wouldn't be enough to put me off.

In fact I think we'd probably have to pay more than that, there will be competition, if we were lucky we might get him on loan again, but the current Chelsea situation is not going to help us any.

Wednesday threw a spanner in the works as we tried a diamond and it bloody worked! Now when Waghorn is fit and now Marriott looks to be in form.. god knows who to go for!

    Possibly;

    Roos

    Bogle Keogh Tomori Cole

                   Johnson

        Mount.              Wilson

                   Lawrence

          Bennett.       Marriott

Which would mean dropping Holmes who is brilliant! Possibly Waghorn in for Bennett but Bennett has been outstanding recently.

So not much of a help to you there!

Interesting, a diamond formation would allow you to press higher with an extra man but also leave your fullbacks exposed, as one of those is Cole it would be brave!

I have a feeling we'll set up the same as the second leg against the Baggies, has all the makings of a good game. So, probably 0-0 then!

    For those who don't read the introductions;

    Afternoon all.

Congrats on making the playoff final. You have every reason to be confident here as you are massive favourites. The feel amongst us Rams is that we almost have no right to be here but we're enjoying the ride!

Word of warning though. At the moment we are nothing like the Derby you have played previously. On our day we can beat anybody, although our defence is a bit of a calamity at times (especially from set-pieces).

Our best forum if you want to pop by is dcfcfans.co.uk

    May the best team win!

Welcome, and congratulations yourselves! Hoping for a good game of football between us after the madness of the semis, wouldn't mind a decent ref too!

I'd love to know how you think you'll set up/lineups etc.

    Best of luck!

Hughton rumoured to be their number one management target. Think that be agood signing.

He seems a good fit for them, so much so I had to double check he hadn't managed them before!

Bottled taking a pen? This forum can be utterly hilarious. This team practices penalties and obviously based on that Smith will have his idealised top 5 takers mapped out well in advance, hence Jedinak came on the football pitch with the sole purpose of taking one. Kodjia is obviously not deemed a top 5 penalty taker based on the managements assessment, simple as that.

I think it can be a bit of both, yes they practice and the manager has an idea of who he wants from that but he'll be led by players on the night, who feels confident, who's cramping up etc. I don't think Kodjia bottled it, others may have been more forceful in wanting to take one, and he may of felt less confident as he'd not been on the pitch for long and not had a whole lot of the ball.

Either way, we want our best and most confident takers taking the first 5, he wasn't one of them that's fair enough for me.

  14. Looking at Dean Smiths history, he's not afraid to make wholesale changes. Let 14 go in his first season at Walsall and brought 12 in, 18 came in during his first window for Brentford.

If we don't go up I think we can expect a lot of ins and outs, lots of young players coming in and the likes of O'Hare and Green getting more of a chance.

If we go up however, I think it would be wiser to keep some continuity, obviously try and get the loan players in permanently and add maybe 4 or 5 in key positions that require it. We may still have a number in the squad that aren't 'premier league quality', but players knowing the system and keeping the group together would be important for surviving a first season back.

  15. As a last resort to keep the club running maybe, but otherwise I wouldn't like to see it.

All I've read coming from the club is that they are confident we will be FFP compliant if we don't go up.

Smacks of lazy journalism to me, dropping our name to push an article.

To be fair, most of those shots came after the red card. I think we'd had one attempt up until then. Certainly in the first half a weak El Ghazi effort was our only attempt on target, and it was a pea roller.

We weren't woeful, but we certainly weren't much good.

Just to kind of back up what you are saying, here's the stats at 79 minutes (when Brunt was red carded)...

We had plenty of possession but weren't really doing a lot with it.

    Steer

    Elmo
    Mings
    Tuanzebe
    Taylor

    Whelan
    Grealish
    McGinn

    El Ghazi
    Abraham
    Kodjia

Kalinic, Hause, Jedinak, Green, Adomah, Davis, Hourihane

I'd go along with this, although I'd maybe save Kodjia for later in the game. I'm thinking get 38 year old Ashley Cole chasing Green up and down our right wing for about an hour then bring on Kodjia to take advantage.

If we play to the best of our ability and Derby play there best, we should be promoted.

I agree, it is a big 'if' though. One of the good things about our recent run, and the Baggies games in fairness, is that we've found a way even when not at our best, which in turn means we don't seem to panic too much if we go behind early on. That kind of belief could prove vital if we are not quite at it.
