  1. Tony Butler on Radio WM is dreading it going through. Obviously he's read the Mail and is totally convinced that the first thing Randy's gonna do is sell the ground and build a casino on it.

Plus Randy doesn't talk to fans... the Browns have won bugger all... etc.. etc...

In the 70's Butler was an impressive and inventive broadcaster. he's now pasted his sell buy date and has been for many years. His whole programme is based around slagging people off and critisising someone.

Trouble is there's a lot of fans who probably think like him.

  2. Buy Ashcroft and play him up front with Baros.

    Agree................but it won't happen.

In fairness JPA has had know support for much of last season with DV being injured. After chasing his arse for much of Saturday the least he deserves is a chance to form a partnership with MB. That said, I voted for all 3 to play...........dream on!

  3. I put no. DV is a great asset for us but I think he lack the "footy brains" to successfully make the international arena on a consistent basis. He has most of the attributes but doesn't use them wisely.

Replacing Rooney against Portugal in Euro 2004 is an example, and not because he missed the crucial pen.Finishing is also poor, only 11 goals in last 56 for us.

  4. Also remember it was a very hot day and the Bayern fans were constantly chanting "Argentina" with ref to the Falklands which was ongoing at the time. We retorted with "Royal Britannia". As fans we had a bit of a reputation following on from Andelecht so security was very tight. My m8 not understanding dutch currency paid about £5 (lot of money then) for a can of coke much to everyone elses amusement.

Journey was by coach and ferry and we left the evening before and slept on train. Bit different to today when you'd fly and sleep in a hotel. Happy days

  5. I was there. Gr8 night. Can see me on the video with dodgy wedge haircut and popular (at the time !) burgundy cords and light blue jumper going mad with Pete W scored. Whilst we were delirious after I do remember a sense of anti climax since it was straight back on the coach and we had none of the beer mentioned elsewhere to consume. fantastic memories following on from being at Highbury the year before. We never got the credit we deserved since footy wasn't popular culture at the time
