Fiddling around with the colour way and It's basically 5 options, that could have their own minor tweaks, such as E/F
A. What we got
B. The logical fix
C. The other logical fix
D. Another Logical fix
E. People liked the Gold mono colour in the vid, so just wanted to see it on claret
F. Blue mono colour to make it 6
For me,C is in the bin for the wiff of wet Spam it has.
F is in the bin for being invisible
D is less invisible, but it might as well be.. in the bin
E does look great and it really pops off the claret, but it really is a massive detour on our tradition colours, so in the bin... sorry
Now it's A or B
Hummmm has to be B, it doesn't pop as much a A, but it ties up nicely with our colour scheme and contrasts well
Great effort, shows the difficulties the designers were working with.
Of those, I think A is still the better option, the hated drop shadow doing it's job to make the lion pop and provide definition at readable distance. I think the B 2 main colour badge also looks a bit bland, especially on a claret shirt. Burnley have gone for white on claret and that definitely doesn't scale well
To avoid a drop shadow the lion could be outlined in claret or even black, but I don't know how practical that would be from a production standpoint, or we could use the detailed heritage lion.

You realise he's kneeling down in this photo, right?

This is the obvious solution to lot of complaints!!
however… the badge will no longer contrast well on the shirt. it’s tricky a juggle to get right
Also no star and no 1874 which fans voted for in the 2023 consultation.
If you're having a claret badge on a claret shirt, may as well have a standalone lion and text.
Some would say not enough blue.

Our worst ever badge.
Am I allowed say that?
There have been plenty worse.
The 90s stripy one for a start.

Playing Devils Advocate was there anything in the Adidas ads that tied them to us or was it just implied
The Adidas badge inside the "new" shape crest shield painted adjacent to the club motto, on a building the club owns, next to our ground not enough of a clue? Adidas deal was "leaked" to the press months ago.

Something a bit slower, more anthemic, a classic of some kind - Crazy Train just isn't well known enough, I doubt many of the the under thirties at Villa Park have a clue what it is other than that it's played before Villa games and I can honestly say I can't remember the last time I heard it anywhere else.
Maybe something timeless with a bit of emotion and inspiration - this would be great with the right images on the big screens.
I don't think Andy Williams is on many under 30s playlists either.

He needs a Duran Duran chant that’s for sure but the question is which song?
To the chorus of Rio
"His name is Duran and he dances through defence/Just like Juan Pablo he is f***ing immense/And when he shoots, he really shows what he's about/Oh Duran, Duran, will score without a doubt"
Crap I know but I needed to get it out of my head

We may as well just accept that the drop shadow abomination is going to be our new badge
Welp...I never envisaged our new crest to replace the Lion with Adidas branding
Also, there's no drop shadow in that mural.

Late to the party as usual, but did anyone ever get to the bottom of why the lion on Emi's badge was upside down. And why no-one, even Emi, actually noticed it?
Somebody said they wanted the lion to face the right way and Heck decided this was the cheapest way to do it...

I am not sure, Ollie feels loved/accepted in the England set up....I think Southgate has pandered to the Media, and Ollies Stats.
I kinda get a feeling of "token gesture" with Ollie and Ezri's Inclusion.
Villa being in 4th place, has spooked Southgate, in so much as not including any of our players as possibly biased, which he doesn't want to admit to.
I think it is fair to say, that Toney, shows more aggression and devilment than Ollie.....but not sure he's an overall ( technically)better player, than our boy.
Would Occam's Razor not suggest that he's just picked two players on form?
He's picked Ollie before, and Ezri was in the squad previously.
Southgate's a nob, but he's not blind.

Trendy new street drug. Base ingredient is legal (Mr. Sheen) so not yet a criminal offence. All the kids are doing it. Also known as 'triple sod' 'yellow bentines' or 'clarky cat'
I don't know what clarky can means.

One thing I will say having been at West Ham yesterday in the home hospitality is that you can see where we miss out on revenue eg 15k less seats and various lounge/hospitality offerings
One I was in was seat, 1 free drink, lounge use and is 2.5k per season so you can see how that soon adds up
Free brand new stadium helps too...

Couldn't tell you whether they are named after Wimpy but they do still exist in the UK!

Their thing is/was that the food is served on proper plates with cutlery and old fashioned no-nonsense food.
Not sure if they still do a bender in a bun or a brown derby though.
Sorry for OT. I'm hungry.
