I thought it was said he was a Villa fan? If so, it is a funny way to show it.
Yeah, I saw a video of him on TV as a young lad in messing around in his bedroom wearing a Villa shirt!

He left for a reason.
Oh, I thought he left for personal reasons? Is there something you know to the contrary?

I was very worried to hear the commentator on the stream I may have been watching say that Lyon have no manager at the moment. They have a temporary coach in charge until the end of the season. Could be just the ticket for Garde, I really hope not. Even at this point I would rather go down and keep Garde than stay up and for him to walk! Bold statement I know (and I await the negative nanny's slating this post with baited breath) , but I really believe that he is the real deal. The chances of Fox, or whoever clown Lerner tasks with the job of finding his replacement, finding us a good a manager are very slim indeed.
Please stay Remi!

Rémi Garde spoke of frustration at the lack of transfer activity in this window - but stressed that his "inner strength" would help him rally the troops for what he hopes will be a grandstand finish to the season.
Garde admitted that the club had been hard at work all month to bring in the several new players he wanted to spark the squad into a revival.
But he revealed he had missed out on his targets for a number of reasons.
Despite these setbacks, boss Garde has vowed to do everything in his power to help the claret and blues achieve top-flight safety.
He said: "I am disappointed. I know the team needs strengthening and improving with new players.
"Probably the main reasons we haven't been able to are that we are bottom of the league and not very attractive for players - and also because financially-speaking the club is not in the situation, probably, where they wanted to spend too much money.
"I can understand that because in the last four or five years a lot of money has been spent without big results.
"But I cannot say that the club decided not to sign players. The truth is we identified a goalkeeper - the deal was good with the club and the player. We were denied a work permit. It was a big blow that we were not expecting.
"I had a long conversation with a striker but he chose finally to sign for another team.
"It's not fair to say that we try not to sign players.
"I will do my best. I am sure the players will do the same.
"One or two new players would have been helpful for the target. But we still need to believe.
"I started my career with disappointment - not playing for two years because of a cruciate ligament injury.
"I was 18 at the time and then 18 months later I was playing for the French national team.
"I have a strength inside of me. I will cope with every situation I have to.
"I am disappointed. I am not down. I am still fighting and proud to be in this position as manager of this club.
"I don't feel like I have problems. I have a squad. I have players and I am sure they will show, despite this window, that we will still be alive."

What a bizarre degree of anger to direct at a player who made absolutely clear all along that we were his final choice. He hasn't misled anyone, maybe you misled yourself perhaps.
Nah just pissed off at the whole situation we find ourselves in. This and I had a bet on him joining us.

It probably won't happen but I've often thought that potential buyers have just been waiting for us to go down so they can buy us then. I mean, we've been heading in that direction for years now and Lerner will inevitably have to lower his asking price when we do go down.
Let's hope that this is our silver lining.

Apparent now that he's just another mercenary. Good riddens, hope you break into the French squad the day before you break your leg.

Yeah, today won't be as interesting as past transfer windows.
Maybe we'll get rid of older, high-earning players in preparation for a rebuild over the summer. We're basically accepting relegation, aren't we?
The board are yes, I hadn't up until now which is why I am starting to get pretty angry about the whole situation. I am being forced to give up hope because the club already have. Argggghhhhhh!

Wouldn't be too surprised if we ended up with Debuchy and Gnabry on loan and that's ur lot.

He has denied claims of Turkish transfer via social media.

So Pato deal to Chelsea looking all but done. Remy has been told he can go on loan should Chelsea sign a striker. Adebeyor to Palace looks on. 33/1 on Sky bet for Remy to join Villa. Just had a tenner on it!
SpoilerWas a free bet, I'm not that mad!

Aston Villa back in for Lovre Kalinic after work permit issues scuppered original move.
Daily Mail are reporting we are still pursuing him too.
-
Sky Sports reporting that the deal is not over and we are still in for him??

Sunderland are trying to hijack the deal!

Yep completely agree, I know they picked him up at 11 but I'm surprised more isn't made out of berahino slipping through the net
Aston manor must be the closest school to the ground
Did he go to Aston Manor? I went there many years before him though. Tony Dorigo went there too (showing my age now)

I think he wasn't much use going forward but he worked his nuts off for the team and his overall contribution to the team effort was good.

Aston Villa
worker hits out at
bosses in viral
resignation letter
The resignation letter of a Villa employee from Rugeley has gone viral after she hit out at the hierarchy of the Premier League's bottom club.
Elaine Rose, who has been a Villa fan for 40 years, worked in the Trinity Road Stand reception for the last six years, but has quit after becoming disillusioned with life at Villa Park.
Elaine's letter of resignationIn an interview this morning, she said: "Nobody seems to care about the position we're in at the moment. Staff morale is at rock-bottom at the moment - we all had to reapply for our own jobs at the beginning of the season. They got rid of members of staff who had been there over 40 years saying they weren't capable of doing their own jobs.
"It's just dreadful there and nobody seems to care about the position of the club and what's going on. Players are coming out of the changing room after the game laughing and joking with each other even though we've just had a big defeat.
"It's just soul destroying, I can't bare to watch it anymore."
Elaine had posted the letter to her colleagues on Facebook, but a picture of it found its way on to Twitter, and was quickly being shared by thousands of supporters.
