Done a bit of research on Comolli, he has actually had some considerable success, I didn't even know he was at arsenal but he is credited with finding Clichy and Kolo Toure.

Because so far all of our ex arsenal staff have been AMAZING.

Cant argue with his record though. Just a bit dubious about another arsenal connection

Just been doing a bit of searching:

This happened http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2068932-sochaux-relegated-after-final-day-defeat-against-evian 'Sochaux Relegated After Final-Day Defeat Against Evian'

Then This happened https://www.soccerex.com/news/2015/07/fc-sochaux-confirm-chinese-takeover 'FC Sochaux confirm Chinese takeover '

And then this happened http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-35019718 'French media observers say it is unlikely that Ledus will be able to build a fan base in China around the club, rather that the new owners are using Sochaux as a vehicle to develop the Ledus brand in France and Europe'

........And the club currently sit towards the bottom of Ligue 2.

Surely though a cheap purchase of a team with a long tradition of being a top flight club, who with a bit of investment could get back into the most popular league in the world it'd be worth it.

Bit of a difference in terms of worldwide audiences if they got us promoted.

  3. Actually more depressing that we've been relegated before the other three battles are close to finishing.

Leicester still haven't won the league,

Newcastle Sunderland and Norwich have every point to play for at the bottom

brighton, burnley and Middlesbrough are all tied at the top of the championship.

We're just sitting there with half the points of those in 19th... Depressing

Anyone following the Norwegian "Tippeligan" ?

The scoring leader is a 20 y.o Nigerian kid named Fred Friday :D 6 goals + 1 assist in 7 games.

Anyone seen him play? Would not be the first Nigerian who took the route via Norway to English football...

Edit: Obligatory youtube video (from last season)

At least we already have a song for him!

An XI I wouldn't mind seeing next season (with Amavi, Veretout and Gestede thrown into the mix), or at least I'd like to see that front 4 playing together just once before half of them leave and turn into decent players for someone else.  I hate the way we're wasting this opportunity under Black by sticking with the experienced rocket polishers.

much better. Looks a much stronger team already. A few key signings and squad players added and we'd have a good shout....

oh wait, we aren't preparing for next season yet. Forgot we still want to lose every game and set unwanted records

  6. Leave the players who have shown no desire on the bench for the last games.

Ask the youth players who fancies a crack. Select the best from those and sprinkle into the starting 11.

ffs you have nothing to lose. It's already the worst villa team IN HISTORY, relegated and in turmoil.

Show some balls and give the ones who want to actually play with some desire, play.

Like I said in another thread, we are getting more and more like a soap opera every day.

As soon as someone foots The Bill, Lerner should sell in a Heartbeat

  8. Leopards and spots and all that.

Id suggest he hasn't been at Burnley for very long to cause any trouble. But I haven't seen him play or heard anything of him recently so I can't comment.

I'll just say his reputation makes me uneasy about signing him. He'll need to prove its all behind him.

Plus he's 33? Not many years left in him

Bad news guys, if you can take anymore...........

    Richardson a doubt for tomorrow.

That's the last straw for me.  I think he was just about poised to                                                          er,                                                  ...............

No Clarke, gabby, okore or Richardson?

We might actually play football today!

Barry or Barton if gettable I would be delighted with. Barton seems to talk a lot about us, I think he is exactly what we need and sort out some if these wimps.

You've got to be joking. Joey Barton who's spent time in prison, assaulted countless players on and off the pitch, admitted to being an alcoholic, the list goes on. He's been forced out of his last few clubs because he's too much of a liability

Yes we need a shake up, but we don't need further drama thanks. We could also do with paying actual players instead of thugs, crocks and wasters for once

  11. Last ever statement from Lerner?

Timing would be perfect if the sale is imminent.

Hes accepted the responsibility, tried to sound remorseful and somewhere near a fan of the club.

He would want his last message to the fans to be what we remember him by. A passionate, caring and faithful fan of Aston villa football club.

For me it's his attempt to do this and say goodbye.

    Goodbye randy. You plonker

  12. Sounds like it's big money investors then.

The Chinese would be my personal preference. Much more potential for puns :D

Bit dubious about the European/British consortium. Might fall apart after the European referendum...

  13. Does this club owe any money to randy on top of the sale price? When he bought off the debt did he lend us money to cover it? Or was he generously splashing cash?

Take it a loan would have to be paid back on top of any fee?

I think Wang and Prince William should take over the club. In the future the stadium would be called Wang King Stadium. Should attract some non-football fans to generate some more income.

We already have a big wang who owns the club. Some would say he's king of the wangs already

Don't forget the rumours of Everton and Watford getting rid of their respective managers. Both will be in the premiership next season and he has the obvious connections with Everton too, less work than us and given the finances next season will without question have the same or more likely more money to spend. If we were set on Moyes, more options are coming by the day for him and he will be able to pick what he likes.

Now he's available and looking for work a whole host of clubs will be hunting him.

Choice is his obviously but as he's already come out and said he's interested and waiting til summer (possibly to see what randy does) then he's ours to lose.

.... But then of course we're a well run functional club with a generous and passionate owner so we should have no problem!

    tick tock randy!
