Other than a long ball, we are basically reliant on a Dougie shuffle, Kamara smashing someone or McGinn's arse turn to get behind the midfield and at the back four to give Diaby some space.

Lucky us, it wasnt long ago we relied on a long range Westwood shot or a Trezeguet headless chicken sprint to the corner flag!!

Atmosphere was ok today but a few things that still really wind me up.  We are going to play from the back. We are going to play a high line. Linesman have been instructed not to put the flag up until the play ends.

Stop bloody moaning about it throughout the game !

It is ridiculous though. Against AZ their off side player was through 1 on 1 with Martinez and there was a 50/50 ball that Emi dived for and he won but he could have been injured easily but the play didnt count because the flag went up. I just cant see the benefit.

Haha fair. I've just done it on Transfermarkt, league only (at Villa) stats:

Bertie averages one goal contribution every 173 minutes.

Bailey one goal contribution every 219 minutes.

I'd also guess that Traore's had more scraps of minutes lately.

To say Bailey is more clinical isn't true IMO, it's the other way round.

If for some reason i had to pick between the 2 it would be Traore. He also makes me sit up and pay attention a bit more when he gets the ball in space.

Need to do contributions per minute for a fairer assessment.

i gave up trying to figure it out to be honest sorry hehe. But yeah its just that they are of similar enough level . They even have both had frequent injuries and lost their place a few times too so id even imagine they have roughly even sub appearences

Whilst I like JD’s response - I really hate this trend of kids begging for players shirts after each game.

Get a job and save up for one 😬

I agree, it looks ridiculous. It would put the players off approaching fans and nearly all of them would be more then willing anyway to give items out anyway without the scramble and begging.

  6. We have a small French contingent forming now too; Diaby, Kamara, Digne and Sanson.

Hopefully they give us better performances then the last batch of Vertout, Nzogbia, Cissokho, Amavi and Remi Garde lol

That’s precisely the point of the warehouse to serve the same purposes …

Oh really i must not have paid enough attention, i thought it didnt have the same amount of attractions/facilities to draw the crowd. Thats ok so : )

  8. That clip has me excited to see him play with Buendia who seems to have an eye for a tru ball and good lay offs. If they can click then with his pace it could be good.

  9. The Warehouse does seem to fit in with the vibe a bit more then Villa Live but i think a big plus with the Villa Live was attracting people to the area earlier pre kick off and keeping people back after the game to slowly filter out the crowd.

No im not lucky enough to get to games often and dont know the area well but with the larger crowd i assume that would have been a major plus point regarding transport congestion.

my last experience on there was ordering the boca 22/23 home shirt off their and being sent the 21/22 shirt instead, quality was absolutely perfect though

Ive bought 3 football jerseys and 2 rugby jerseys from there and they were all perfect. Il probably get sent last seasons one lol

  11. If he stays and remains fit then he should get a few games with the fixture schedule. I was so excited when he came but it hasnt happened. Not bad back up to have though.

Would love if Emery could get him going again.

With our new improved midfield behind him and being more defensively sound too it could ease his responsabilities and help if him "not having the legs" is an issue.

Both these were posted by @nick76 earlier in the thread. Sponsorship aside these are like, "look what you could've won" designs.

If only the real designers put some real thought into what they actually do. It shouldn't be that difficult to come up with favourable designs for the fanbase tbh. Every end of season put designs up for fans to vote for and pick out the winners.

    The best ive seen

  13. We havnt been very adventurous with kits for a long time so i think thats why people are getting West Ham and Burnley vibes. Not saying this ones drastically different but mabye its due to the design around the shoulders.

We dont need to allow other teams the monopoly on blue shoulders etc. Without that thin claret line it would look so much better.

As with most home villa jerseys its an average looking one imo.

I had been 50/50 on the crest but now seeing it on a villa jersey it looks well tbf.

  14. I know its come up before but are there any more renders of what the inside will look like?

Theres lots of images around of the outside that are fairly detailed but i still cant picture how the lower tiers will join the corners of the other stands as both of their lower tiers are of a different size.

  15. Alot of the home kits with a touch of yellow/gold on the edge of the collar or sleeves works really well in my opinion. Or even as the sponser writing. Gold works well on the lettering in the crest with claret and blue.

  16. If we had to pick either one of him and Archer to keep rather then sell or loan i can see Duran being kept. Not sure what Emery thinks of Archer but might not be his style of striker.
