It was basically injuries which ruined him, he was fast tracked into the Derby first team by the age of 16/17, but was picking up injuries at that age. He had major knee surgery when he was like 19-20 and really, that was it for him, it took a away crucial development and he wasn't the same player. He had a run at West Brom but just wasn't the same, but he's having a pretty good MLS career right now.

the thing that i'm hopeful is that dr tony seems to have learned from lerners mistakes.whether comoli is a footballing genius is open to debate but at least the good dr has the intelligence to get football people involved.the ex everton guy linked is also a positive.it looks like he's putting a sort of football board together to run the club.no doubt he will have the final say/input but at least he has football knowledge to give him advice.

i don't know if anybody has put forward paul clement.he seemed to be doing ok at derby(he might be in a job for all i know), but if not he does play good football and from the few times i saw derby they looked alright.would have knowledge of our competitors.
