  1. To be fair, once Benteke and Kozak are back and assuming me can add or two players like Lambert has suggested, hopefully a good defensive midfielder, we have a good team on paper. If those two can come back strong I think we could push for a top half/high mid table finish. Up the Villaaaaaaaaa

  2. Brilliant bit of business. Need a good LB but an OK one will do.

wellll I am not sure on that. I'd rather our business be for once not in the bargain basement bins and actually give Lambert a chance of signing quality. Not that ain't going to happen. Still another body and I wish him well.
Doesn't mean it's in the bargain barrel if it's cheap signing and a good player. It means it's good business in my eyes.

  3. I was thinking of talking little bit about Al-Shabab club from what I know (because my team which I support have relegated the season before the last). Anyway, Al-Shabab is one of the most successful team here in Saudi, yet it lacks fans. I'd say more than 80-90% of the fans are between (Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli). I think Al-Shabab fans won't be more than 1-2%. Yet they're the third successful team in the last couple of years, And they've began collecting trophies since the ninetees I think. Anyway, those days they were collecting trophies they've been something like Arsenal or Spurs, strong team but they're forced to sell their best players. When Khaled Al-Baltan came, They've started collecting more trophies (Like their old days) but without selling player, They started also buying from the top teams. Until maybe last year when he was thinking of leaving I think he hasn't signed some new deals with player, Yet he got couple of signings too. He likes challenging, and he's confident and like to success. I'm not sure if he's coming here for a challenge or business in the first place. But might be combined together.

Sometimes I fear because he doesn't have the experienced out there and I'm not sure about his money, The other time I feel he won't take a step to fail.

Anyway we have nothing but to wait and see how things will go exactly.

Any idea on how much he's/his partners are worth? When you say you're unsure about his money, do you mean his financial power to fully back us and push us on?

  4. Natalie Dormer --decent in ''Rush ''

Barry would be great , would protect our overexposed defence and keep hold of the ball in midfield.

Westwood would flourish learning and playing next to someone like Gareth Barry.

  5. If there's not money to spend I'd rather get someone in on loan and not have a player on a contract sticking around collecting his wages after one season. Get in people like Van Ginkel & Boyata for a season sure we may groom them for another club like Walker but if we haven't got any money and they keep us in the league no harm done, & most importantly we don't have another 30 something player past his prime collecting a wage for sitting on his arse.

At a time like this we need experienced heads, not two young unproven premier league players. Hoolahan would be a good signing. Spending money doesn't mean you'll strengthen, aka Norwich. I think Hoolahan and a DM on loan and we'll be ok once Kozak is back

  6. Fullbacks that can't defend. A midfield that can't defend or can't create, barely score and don't impose themselves on a game. An attacking trio that can't create, have a poor touch and don't score enough.

Yeah I'd say it's pretty poor.

Haven't Westwood, KEA and Delph scored like 10 between them this season? And Westwood has one of the highest key pass rates in the league?

  7. I must admit I am not very good at scouting.

What I normally do is hire German, French and English scouts in my first season at Villa to find bargains. Then when the club reputation gets better, hire better scouts that can judge players better. Look at their reports and you can normally find some decent players with affordable fee's. Plus check out teams in Brazil and Argentina, some players have a release clause that'll cost peanuts. Also very good young players in their reserve/u21 teams. Hope that helps.

  8. Whenever I see an update on this thread I'm hoping it's someone saying there's going to be an update and that the ME is fixed. As regards with Villa, maybe tinker with a few tactics and see what really clicks before the next season? Identify your areas of weakness and do some thorough scouting.

  9. I think the whole tactics in this version is fine. For me it's just the match engine that **** it up. Defenders missing easy headers too often, goalkeepers not saving shots hit straight at them, opposition players being left unmarked. All in all, for me the match engine has ruined this years game. It was fine, when first released, and fine after the transfer update, but the small patches they do have ruined it each time.
