I get the feeling he'll stay but not sign a new deal.

His agent will sign an extra year regardless, this guarantees money for a year, Jack could do a cruciate tomorrow and be done for 18 months and never be the same player.  There's no way your scenario ever plays out, it's a pay rise and guaranteed money.

Question. Do we erect a statue of @Fairy In Boots if Jack goes?

No I'm not special I just know someone who knows stuff about it,  currently it's looking like it will out that we've reached a deal tomorrow evening early Thursday. Medical Thursday / Friday

What I've said about this has been agreed before Christmas from a personal terms point of view is accurate, we've tried but ultimately we're trying to convince a bloke who's out the door.  One thing I will say is we will all be hurting, don't buy the crocodile tears and fluff pieces that come out, it's a professional PR team not him on Insta or twitter. I'll go into more detail once the furore dies down, too many eyes on this forum / villa social media at the moment.

Long story short the Villains (not Villans as they've not acted like it) of this piece is the Grealish Family and Stella agency. I would recommend staying off social media when it goes through as it will be full of City plastics gloating that they've ripped our heart out.

I think this will be a kick in the bollocks for us, i'll be gutted this will hurt and i won't be able to stomach him in that kit or the media after with their condescending nature over it either.

JWP though will be in off the back of it, Cantwell rumour has legs also.

Jack will be a huge marketing tool for them . He transcends football as has been seen by all the articles in vogue, mens health ,ok magazine etc etc

And he had wembley stadium chanting his name wanting him to come on along with his .missus getting death threats from 14 year old girls who see him as their pin up.

Shame really as if he stays our exposure and commercial revenue will increase massively.

Spot on it’s what I’m most upset about, the commercial opportunities for us with Jack are huge he’s worth more than £100m to us for that reason. Football wise £100m for a 26 year old is a lot of money and we will likely be stronger overall if we reinvest it smartly. I’m far more confident about that with NSWE we will spend that money well

All of that is very interesting (I cannot speak to its accuracy) but it would of course be irrelevant to a "done deal" at the point at which you called it a "done deal".

Mate you can never say never but it’s high 90% percentage he’s gone

Are City really offering £300k a week? It seems from sportrac that the only players on that kind of money are KDB & Sterling. It would be double the 3rd highest player at City. Granted in losing Aguero & Silva in recent times that have shed some of their bill but neither of those were on north of £250k.

That’s what I’m told, he’s a superstar get ready for lots of condescending comments from media and press about them making him etc over the next few years.

What happened to it's a done deal, 100% off, team Grealish has screwed us over?

You are anther who for day's has been saying with zero doubt that he'd already gone.

I’ve not said anything different really, I think Kane has delayed it by several days but will still go ahead.

Villa have been clever yesterday letting fans see them talking to Jack etc a visible display of them trying to talk him round coupled with the offer of a bumper deal being widely reported. Make it look like we tried and Jack is the enemy which he is it’s his camp that have orchestrated this. We’re offering about £100k lower than City it’s never going to be a U turn from Jack now. The only hang up is City offering £100m at the mo it’s £85 plus add on’s, once they hit £100m it will be quickly done which goes to show personal terms have been done ages ago

Jack training is a good sign and a fact!  After all the mindless speculation over the weekend even though not massive it’s nice to have a Fact!

@Fairy In Bootssaid he was going for photos at City at the end of weekend and signing by now so for another summer running his sources are making him look not accurate again.  We had other sources saying Jack wasn’t going to turn up for training so just that Jack is at training is positive and factual after a weekend of speculation.

Will go long mate, Kane is effecting it. We better hope Kane goes to City if we want to keep Jack I really do think that could be the key as City want and need a striker. I personally feel that talk of deadline is Grealish’s team (Stella) are pushing for the move because City’s board will not want to spend £260m in one summer without offloading £100m first such as Sterling and Fernandez. I’m still 95% sure he’s off told Friday.

pictures mean nothing Jack is a pro and will conduct himself as such.

  6. JWP won’t be until after Grealish, both Stella and Stella leveraging one to do the other. Still certain Jack’s off will travel up to Manchester Monday, has spoke with NSWE via zoom last week and told them he wants to go. Wes isn’t in the UK. You don’t have to believe me but seriously don’t bet your hard earns money on rumours he’s staying, he may well change his mind but I doubt it he’s not behaved in a way that would suggest that for several months.

When he had multiple public digs at us for having shit set piece takers, were you upset?

I'm now even starting to believe the people who claim that he indeed DID want to go to Tottenham, Man U, and now the obvious.

Tottenham move was ultimately blocked, and they offered Peanuts.

Man U didn't want to pay the money.

Man City are now serious and a different level of attraction.

I genuinely think his " Love " and " Loyalty " is overrated.

If we offered him 500 k per week he might suddenly feel alot more loyal though, and we could roll out the 6 year old diving in the bushes like the Holte End story again. lol

As I've said, I won't be abusing him, but i've felt he is more interested in shiny lights and celebrity status than  loyalty " to us for quite a while.

The incessant blowing smoke up his arse and " can do no wrong " attitude from a section of our fans towards him, will have aided in the ego and billy big bollox notion of him being bigger than the club as well.

I would love to have this rammed down my throat and look an absolute tool.

No need to believe I’m telling you it’s true. He was geared up to go had a verbal agreement in place just they wouldn’t meet our valuation. City have trumped them this year, I clarified when they met it was pre November the “my club my city” bs wasn’t even cold.

It’s done guys he’s told the club he wants to go, that’s where this “transfer request” is coming from.

Stella are a scum outfit sadly they also have Konsa on the books expect that to be pushed next year.

If/when jack leaves I’m afraid it leaves the owners in a really poor light.

Failure to convince Jack to stay and a failure to have the strength to basically say no to a sale.

I could accept the above due to the reality of football but what I can’t accept is the complete and abject failure to prepare for this scenario by getting our business done first to avoid the grealish premium that’s basically going to turn the 100m into 80m - which is basically 1.5 Ben white’s in this market.

Mate it’s not the owners stop that narrative, this is camp Grealish has been every time for the last three times

I’ve believed you, you sounded credible with what you say and I’ve always thought he was still here because nobody came in for him previously at the right money. The minute someone has, he’s off like a shot, I never quite got how he has always been labelled loyal, I suppose he could have forced a move previously  but I wouldn’t say that not forcing a move is the epitome of loyal.

I probably differ from most in that I think it’s gone too far now for us not to sell him. Purely based on the fact that it is clear that he and his camp have driven this and are willing to leave right before the start of our season. If it all fell through, how could he pull on the captains armband again? How could we have any self respect if we wanted him to? Unless, he literally did change his mind and signed the new contract with the bid from Man City still on the table, now that would be loyal.
As tiresome as it is, if dragging it out an extra couple of days gets us an extra 10 mil or whatever, then it’s worth it.

Where I can’t agree with you is the vitriol you have. I’m gutted with how this has played out and disappointed in him yes, and I won’t be able to watch him in a City shirt which will be hard because he’s going to be all over every media outlet. But I can’t be doing with hate, life’s too short and I’d rather remember the good times. Becoming a toxic fan base is not the way to go.

We have to move on, try and get some replacements in, try and not to get ripped off which will be difficult because everyone will know exactly how much we’ve got.

There’s an opportunity here to turn this into a positive and become a proper balanced team but the recruitment will have to be spot on.

I’m angry because lots are losing faith or blaming the club, they shouldn’t it’s camp Grealish we’ve been lied to for a long time by him.

  10. Don’t blame NSWE there is a clause it was supposed to be secret but Stella have told City and Grealish wants the move, nevermind this Dortmund Bs it was done earlier than that. The Grealish’s want money they care far more about that than they do the Villa.

Our owners ultimately want to make profit on their investment the best way to do that is to keep building the club up increasing its value. Investment will continue its a marathon not a sprint

Which he could’ve got from Arsenal but brought into our project which included Jack.  Villa without Jack, I think Buendia would’ve favoured Arsenal because our project looks less attractive.

No mate we will still push on under NSWE this isn’t on them they’ve been done here by Stella and camp Grealish.

  12. 1 minute ago, Tom13 said:

Yeah if you believe it. And why would you believe that? Maybe they've been open about our plans, not guaranteeing Grealish would definitely stay, but still stating that we have serious ambitions, which we do.

Claiming our owners have lied to Buendia while at the same time having no facts to prove it whatsoever? Don't get that.

Buendia came because we upped his wages by 50k p/w

  13. Remember I said this wasn’t on Vila this was all camp Grealish. What I’ve said was laughed at but it’s all looking likely now as the story bleeds out.

don’t lose faith in the project we’re not a selling club overnight our hands have been tied on this by Stella and Grealish.

he’s not the hero we all thought he was move on, the club is bigger than any player support the club not the players utv

Just because there's a release clause (or gentleman's agreement) doesn't mean there's no room for negotiations. Transfer fees are normally amortized over the lifetime of a player's contract. Similarly the fee is generally paid in multiple installments. Occasionally clubs who have a player with a release clause make it difficult for the buying club by demanding the entire fee up front, making it tricky to navigate FFP. Jack can go for £100m. It's a matter of whether City are willing to pay it (and potentially how it's structured)

They won’t want to pay upfront it’s our last hope, I hope we play hardball

    24 minutes ago, Keyblade said:

There's a release clause, but there's no way NWSE would have accepted a fee. Make it make sense.

NSWE (typo originally) don’t want to sell, our hands are tied because there is a clause.

    18 minutes ago, PieFacE said:

How do release clauses work in terms of the structure of the payment? Could we say that the release clause is only triggered IF the the structure of the deal is what we want? (ie, 80% of the fee upfront and the rest in instalments or whatever). Or is it a case if the fee is hit regardless of the structure it has to be accepted?

We will demand it upfront as we look to reinvest I’d hope

Theres never been a player quite as universally loved as Jack. Truly unique. Players do come and go but none like this. He has defined an era of hope, restoration and we were hoping it would go beyond that to perhaps some form of glory. City have ruined is before, if it happens again after all that heartache getting back to this point it will be pure despair. Thats the truth. Jack gives us a reason to be optimistic and we know we can hold our own again in this league because of him. Without him, we look a different side and im sick of City dropping £60m on every player 20 times over so that they can have a bench worth half a billion every week. Then they can just take our favourite son for £100m on top of that, all whilst under a ridiculous ffp investigation when the whole world knows they’ve cooked all their books. Laughable really but it does make you think whats the bloody point

Well said that’s what I’m sad about really it’s the gut punch we’ll all feel over it. But don’t let this tarnish NSWE they’ve been robbed here by . Stella

Man City wouldn't be wasting there time bidding if Jack wanted to stay......

I will be disappointed in him if he goes this summer when he could have given fans a season to see him at Villa Park in the flesh so to speak.

Why do Man City think a decision will be made quickly?

Pre agreed I’ve said this personal terms are done has been for months. Camp Grealish say they’re a Villa family but they sold us about long ago

Yeah, but Fairy's mate knows everything. He knows about the illegal tapping up that happened back in December (it didn't), he knows about the £300k/week that Shitty are offering him (they aren't), he knows that Villa dont know about this (this is not unreasonable since it never happened), he knows that Jack is desperate to join them (just like he was desperate to join Yooonited last year) (he wasn't), he knows that Jack sulked massively about not being able to go to Spurs (he didn't) and he knows that the deal will be done on Monday or Tuesday (we assume next week but this was not actually specified).

So yes, plenty there to convince me that Jack is leaving 🤣

But there's more... then when we find out that training staff at Villa are telling people on a City forum that it is done and dusted, and add in that the Villa shop has been kept in the loop about the (non-existant) negotiations and told to stop selling Grealish shirts, and then add in that Greg **** Evan has said that he feels that something will happen, despite saying a month ago that a deal was signed and sealed....

Then, the fail says that City are preparing a bid of £75m, despite saying they had met the release clause of £100m a month ago.

I mean, come on against that overwhelming weight of evidence.... how can we possibly believe he will stay (he will)

What I actually said was "Spurs he has said he sulked over its collapse" you can go back and check.

here's Jack himself on the subject:

    https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-jack-grealish-tottenham-16707528

    Quote

Grealish added: "Of course there's going to be disappointment there. They've beaten Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford, they're playing Barcelona in the Champions League next week. I felt that if I'd gone there I could have maybe been in the England squad by the end of the year.

"At the start of the season my head was swivelled, it was all over the place. Even after the transfer window closed, until the end of August, I wasn't right. I thought I was leaving. Before the new owners, Villa needed the money so I kind of accepted that me going would save the club.

"It's not like I was devastated it didn't happen, though, because I've still got to realise how lucky I am to be playing for my boyhood club. I've played over 100 games for Villa and I've only just turned 23."
