Our two best players in terms of ability and consistency are Martin Laursen and Gareth Barry. Then comes Ashely Young but he can drift out of games for 2 months.

If we lose Barry and Laursen I would conclude that we will not be able to sustain the same challenge as this season, no matter who replaces them.

I think MON will never be able to replace the two.

Couldn't agree more. When evaluating O'Neills tenure, Laursen and Barry are the players who have performed the most consistently and have formed the spine of the team

He's too slow (no he's not), he only scores penalties, he rarely shoots (not his primary function), he doesn't create goals (yes he does), he gives away too many free kicks because of his lack of pace (no he doesn't), he always gets knackered in the 2nd half and runs out of energy (no he doesn't), he can't tackle (yes he can), he can't header (so what?), no right foot (so what?)

I don't agree with most of what you say BCV, hes a quality player and has the respect from managers in our game including Capello, O'Nell and Benetiez. If he s starting for England on a regular basis, he can't be as bad as you make out?

But you are entitled to your opinion, BOF corrected your statement to a more accurate description of Gareth Barry, IMO of course.

He does have a right foot, he showed this against Hull.

100% yes for 2 reasons

1. he is a class act...when he is on song we are a terrific team...his passing, vision and reading of the play is brilliant...only petrov comes close to this

2. i dont trust martin one jot to actually replace him properly

if he goes im sure next season we are gonna be talking about how much it has affected us

Same for me. He is one of the best players in the team and there is nobody that we know of who will slot straight in.

Benetiz wants him, O'Neill has done everything to keep him and he has played in every game under Capello IIRC. He is a quality player

Bloody horrible to watch. I just don't understand how he could get everything so wrong, it looked like he had never seen Pac fight before.

I don't get why this has been a wasted season, hopefully it's one we will learn from. Mon will learn he needs to add more depth and quality, the players will also learn alot of things, that when in a bad run they have to make things happen and not just wait for things to happen, they would of learn not to be perhaps over-confident while in leads and will hopefully learn to close games out better.

It feels wasted because we were 8 points ahead of Arsenal, in the last 32 of the UEFA cup and in the 5th Round of the F.A. Cup and we threw it all away.

His defensive signings in Cuellar, Knight and Davies are dreadful. Lescott and Jagielka cost less than those three.

Everyone i speak to thinks the new simpsons are dreadful aswell. All the celebrity appearances really pisses me off. Ten years ago it was brilliant, now I loathe new episodes on Sky One and prefer to watch a repeat of a 1994 classic !
