I think if we don't get complacent like we did today we will be fine. Fulham, Norwich and Cardiff are going to drop. Norwich's next game is so huge if they lose we 'should' be safe

Had enough of supporting Lambert today! Played about 4 players out of position and wonders why we cannot win at home. Even with the injuries we had we still had enough players to play in their correct positions. Also, what does he say to the lads at HT? We always have a 15 minute spell after the break where we are all over the place. If you have a home record like this nobody can be blamed but the manager imo.

Best player by a mile today. Held up play exceptionally, and he might be unfit but he was extremely clever with the ball today and glad he got his goal. Benteke would have been no better than Holt today. Nice to have a player who likes to wind up defences too (a la Kevin Davies). Keep it up Holty

I don't honestly see the hype with him tbh. Any striker in our team will be top goalscorer regardless of quality because we play one up top. I don't think it would be a bad idea dropping him for a game and giving him a kick up the arse.

Another clean sheet with him in the team. He needs to stay fit for us to stay up. With Okore coming back next month our defence will have a huge boost.

Gabby has an outside chance of being fit and Vlaar is very doubtful according to kendrick. If they are both out we will lose, any news on the carrol red card whether it has been overturned or not?

As a supporter of Aston Villa iv'e learned if we play for a draw we lose. It was so predictable at 1-0 what was going to happen. I hope you lot at least made a few quid of it. If Vlaar is out for the west ham game, we will get battered physically and we better pray carrol's red is not overturned because we will lose. 

Merson was right about him today on SSN, saying that its a great credit to him that he came to us as many players would have been happy sitting comfortable at chelsea. Looks a quality player and looks to have a cracking attitude, really hope a permanent deal will be done in the summer.

In my opinion he is the best counter attacking player in the league on his day. Not often his delivery is as good as it was today though, keep it up Gabbs

I always liked Dann at Blues. Him and Johnson were class in that one season as much as it pains me to say it. Would very much take him here. 

I think he and Benteke could cause teams problems. Holt is very good at hold up play and drawing fouls from defenders. If Lambert did not insist on floated corners all the time we could be very dangerous from set pieces. I don't know what all the abuse is for. As long as he puts effort in for the club i can't see a loan being a problem. 

I really fear for a drubbing this weekend. I think we may revert back to the 4-3-3 with sylla, delph and westy as the midfield three. I also imagine Luna will have a really torrid time against either of their 3 front men which they chose to play rw

Hi everyone New to the forum, i just want to give my opinion on our current squad and where i think we need improving. First of all i for one think strength in the spine of the team is the most important part to any team that operates successfully in this league. After watching Villa home and away this season it strikes me how small our team is in comparison to other teams and is the reason we lack so much possession. Its so important we sign a big central midfield destroyer type player this window just to add some presence to the midfield. The current lack of presence is why teams like Sheffield, Millwall and Bradford find us so easy to play against never mind the prem teams. I'm not sure of any players of this mould available but a player like N'zonzi would fit straight into our team. I don't think a creative midfielder is priority at the moment as i cannot see a lack of goals being the reason we find ourselves in the rut towards the lower end of the league come the end of the season.
