  1. To the tune of I love you baby:

Ohhh Emile Heskey, he used to play for the Scum,

Oh Emile Heskey, O'Neill brought him up,

Oh Emile Heskey, you're a donkey no mooo-oooo-oooree,

    Repeat.

Like this one, needs a bit of work though

And don't think you can call him a donkey, it won't take off

Look at the Petrov one that says he used to be shite, no one joins in cos of that.

  2. Evening General Sir

I don't normally moan, and to be fair this is more fine tuning, but whilst we are on the subject of on-line ticket purchases, there are two things which puzzle me:

    1. I am not able to purchase away game tickets on-line, why would this be? As it leads to the next problem:

    2. When I check my booking history, it only shows the games I have booked on-line, as opposed to all the tickets which I have booked. This means I must phone up to check my away booking history regularly, to make sure I have enough "credits".

    Thanks in advance.

  3. General Sir

I'd like to thank you for giving up your time to read the many requests and queries, however minor, which come your way via this thread, but not only that also to act on them so promptly as above speaks volumes.

The boys have been doing great, but looked seriously out on their feet the last few minutes of the last few games. Now I know you can't talk about transfers, but could you just mention to Randy and Martin that my own policy in these tough financial times is to SPEND SPEND SPEND! Thus bringing confidence to a depressed market :D

And by the way, if he's looking for a new head of policy or a similar highly paid role tell him to pm me!

  4. General Sir

Hope you are keeping well after your recent troubles.

A few of us have been over on a Browns fans chat site, playing a little havoc with them, in a nice way! But it was interesting to see their perceptions of Randy et al are somewhat different to ours.

We obviously aren't comparing eggs with eggs here, for a start off NFL is a short season with player wage restrictions etc, but boy could they do with a Martin O'Neill right now by the sound of it.

Do you yourself get involved with the Browns franchise? Or are we the chosen few? If yes, do you chat with them as well?

  5. MARTIN LAURSEN, MARTIN LAURSEN

YOUR THE GREATEST, THE HOLTE END SAY/SING

TO THE TUNE OF WE ARE SAILING.

Dunno whether say or sing sounds better, either way it would be good but what do you lot think sounds better?

    Posted the page before:

    Oh Ashley

    Oh Ashley

    You're the Greatest

    The Holte End say

    Oh Ashley

    Oh Ashley

    We'll be with you

    All the way

Its an old song, and its Say to rhyme with Way. And its a great song when it gets going.

  6. General Sir

Keep the faith, on all the fronts you are currently fighting!

Every game is a must win is this league and in these cup runs, but no team is guaranteed such luxury and rightly so. It is nice to be in a position where at least we have a chance of winning every game, something we have been unable to say for some time which is a mark of how the club are moving forward under the current management team.

And something to bring a smile to your face....I already booked my flight to Istanbul!

    In Martin We Trust.

  7. General Krulak here:

    1. Nope, not tongue in cheek. I meant it. We need to be able to beat the likes of the ManU's of the world...consistently...to get to where we want to be. I can promise you, that is MON's goal and the goal of the Board. That should come as no surprise...I would imagine that would be the goal of many teams within the Premiership.

    2. I will check with John Greenfield and see how we can work a 10% discount on line.

    Evening General Sir,

I would hope it wasn't tongue in cheek. This is exactly the winning attitude we need, not just from the management, but the players and the fans as well because VP has been like home from home for those dirty, cheating northern types.

Well it looks like Aston Martin is ingraining this attitude into the squad and I for one am pleased with the progress being made, but of course, never satisfied... :winkold:

  8. BOF this is brilliant stuff. I usually read it, but have never bothered to comment.

I only really look at the results comparison with the same opponents, cos as someone more intelligent the I is bound to have said...Its results that matter... and more specifically what better way to judge our improvement?

So basically we have improved by 33% from last year on a like for like results basis, 20 points now, 15 this time last year.

Not bad when you consider we have a new defence really, Friedel, Shorey, Young, Cuellar and Davies returning from injury. Despite what some of those boys have shown so far they are all good players and will settle in fairly quickly, given a chance!

Looking good, I feel a bit better now after the recent depression!

  9. On this subject, I used to be a season ticket holder in the 80's/90's, and gladly returned last year after Ellis went.

But I can't help noticing how we don't sing a song for all of our players anymore, in fact I bet its not even half that have a chant.

Think how you would feel if your mate gets a song, or two, and you don't even get a mention. Then think what you do if another club comes along, it really could make a difference.

A few lads I really think we need to look after:

Ashley Young - I see a few threads on it, but none make it out there. We used to sing about Andy Townsend, and it might have been used even earlier about Andy Gray, and can be changed to Ashley -

    Oh Andy, Oh Andy

    You're the Greatest

    The Holte End say

    Oh Andy, Oh Andy

    We'll be with you

    All the Way

We have one for Martin Laursen, but we need to use it, and don't take the easy way out and change it for anyone else. D D D D Martin Laursen, D D D D Martin Laursen.

For Bouma we give it the Freddie, Freddie occasionally, but I quite like:

    Boom Boom Boom

Let me hear you say Freddie

    Freddie!

    Boom Boom Boom

Let me hear you say Freddie

    Freddie!

A few more signings would be nice, and we could keep this going...

  10. To the tune you all know from

    With the words:

    Founding Fathers of Football,

    Aston Villa FC,

    Standing Tall with Honour,

    The Great Club of History

    Stronger still and Stronger

    Our Sun will never Set

    Aston Villa the Mighty

    Will be Mightier Yet

    Aston Villa the Mighty

    Will be Mightier Yet

    Guys, this is the ONE!

I'm a big believer in chants, sadly over recent years we haven't had enough original ones, although last year with Gabby, Salifou and John Carew, Carew we've shown the world our class again!

We still lack an anthem, the likes of Liverpool, West Ham, Coventry and dare I say the Scum. This one, to the tune of Land of Hope and Glory works on so many levels, it has to be the ONE.

    1. Mr O'Neill gets turned down by the bungling FA, and turns to AVFC to build a Little England in the middle of this green and pleasant land.

    2. It seems old fashioned, but it points to the future and glory, fitting perfectly with Proud History, Bright Future.

    3. Its a statement of intent - we take the English anthem before anyone else even thinks of it because we are leaders, class.

Come on Villa, this is OUR song waiting to happen.

Sing your hearts out for the LADS!
