  1. If he can chip in with 5 goals, 5 assists and players like Grealish can learn from him I would say its a good move.

He was one of the most naturally gifted players so passing on anything to the youngsters will be a great experience to them.

5 goals and 5 assists? Talk about raising the expectations. He's more likely to chip in with 5 sub appearances and 5 hamstring injuries. It's like when people were saying Holt would be good if he could manage 4 or 5 goals lol

5 goals and 5 assist isn't outside the realms of possibility. The main point was the young players learning from him as well.

So basically if he can manage better than most of team did last season he will be a good signing.

    Obviously.

  4. Why is Bale in the new Adidas world cup advert. I know he wears Adidas but he won't be in Brazil this summer.

I would say same reason Ibrahimovic is in the Nike one...one of the most marketable footballers and signed to that brand.

  5. I think the papers are as keen as us to get a lead on this.

It would not surprise me in the slightest if that story was lifted from this website.

All that aside though I would welcome Villa Park being filled with prostitutes on match days. I think after the last few years we deserve a bit of excitement

The amount I've paid to see us been f****d at home, I would suggest they've been there for the last few years.

  6. From TBAR

marcxc1983 wrote:well, to try and sound as convincing as possible I wrote it out before hand what I was going to say. I rang late, us east coast time, as the place was closing so that whoever I spoke to would just want to answer and get off home icon_smile.gif

I said "good evening (had to make believe I was in the same time zone at least), I am Anthony Russell and I am Personal Assistant to Mr Paul Faulkner of a Aston Villa Football Club" to which the young lady replied "yes sir, how can I help you" no, "who" or anything like that so promising straight away. Anyway, I said "I am currently arranging transport to your establishment on Friday afternoon/evening for Mr Faulkner who is due for a dinner meeting with Mr Lerner and his representatives, I was wondering if you could please confirm your zip code as I do not have it in the paperwork I have." Now, if the place is 'closed' Friday then she should've said "We are not open" or something to that effect.

She replied "hang on one moment please", a touch of background music followed and I was SURE I'd been rumbled! She came back after about 3 minutes and said "do you have a pen Mr Russell? it is NY 11930, do you have the code for the parking lot?, I said "I do not but we have a driver bringing us so I'm sure he will be able to help."

That was that then, by this time my heart was doing ten to the dozen! Super sleuth indeed :)I didn't want to push my luck with any more info but then after I thought I should have because she had already given me the info I needed so I couldn't lose, but guys it's 100% them going "

worrylingly this shows what an Amatuer Lerner is - He wants to keep things quiet - yet a phone call confirms all !

All that's been confirmed is the zip code. I dont think this indicates anything.

  7. For the third year in a row...

...if only it wasn't for that stupid **** man on the shoulders.

Don't see why your surprised, it's thier brand logo.

I think all the macron kits have them on.

  8. Januzaj in 30 man provisional World Cup Squad.

    Squad is:

    Goalkeepers: Courtois, Mignolet, Casteels/Proto.

Defenders: Alderweireld, Vanden Borre, Ciman, Kompany, Van Buyten, Vermaelen, Lombaerts, Vertonghen

Midfielders: Witsel, Defour, Fellaini, Dembélé, Chadli, De Bruyne.

Forwards: Lukaku, Origi, Hazard, Mertens, Mirallas, Januzaj.

  9. Sorry if this seems incredibly naive but what financial benefits are there to owning a football club?

All they seem to do is haemorrhage money. Im sure there must be a reason rather than a hobby?

  10. As Promised:

    2d8erux.png

Now would someone bloody tell me who's buying us...

I dont suppose there's any indication what colour dafabet (assuming they will be our sponsers) will be written in?

  11. Pete Colly been on sky sports news, saying no buyers for the club at this point.

The media know as much as we do. We had reports from bbc and talksport saying his not selling just an hour ago.

Just sit back and watch it play out, unless is coming from a statement from Villa, Lerner or the Buyer its fair to assume its merely a rumour.

  12. Group of lads aged 20-27 drinking on a coach. Hardly a shocking image.

Finished a long season, may not have a been an adequate season but I dont think we can begrudge them having a drink.

  13. Hes travelling with the squad. Interesting lineup aswell but its not my place to say

Hes part of the 21 but only 18 get picked. So hes either just travelling, or hes on the bench. He should be told later on whether hes made the bench or not. COYVB.

Good to know Kev, wouldn't be surprised if you soon had to stop posting being so close to someone in and around the first team!
OHH so this is why you all want him in the first team...
Ha not at all mate! :D it's great having the insight!
Great news. I bet he (and all your family kev) are grinning from ear to ear. Even to be in the 21 will be great experience for him.

I hope he at the very least gets a 15 minute cameo though.

  14. I agree. I wouldn't want to see Villa Park redeveloped into 'a bowl' though. There are not enough old school stadium with four seperate stands.

I appreciate you can add another 5-10 thousand, if they were filled in but I just don't like them.

  15. Certainly wouldn't want Man City rejects like Micah Richards, we've had too many of those in the past.

Don't they want to keep him though? He wants to leave to play more football.

My only concern with Richards is that he always seems to get a lengthy injury. We've had them to Vlaar and Okore in recent seasons and I wouldn't want to buy a player who potentially will be out.

I think he is a great player when fit though.

  16. I'm more excited about the Holtby interest but imagine Benteke alongside Chicharito? A poacher and a target man. Reminds me of the partnership of Carew and Gabby as his best! But having Holtby in our club would be amazing! He should be our number one target IMO..

If it were true, I imagine it would be a diamond which would be great. Those 3 up top with delph behind is much better than current.

Having said that I just dont see either happening.

  17. Hernandez would certainly boost our profile in South America. Although I think it's fairly unlikely to happen...

Fat bloke in the pub last night reckons its a done deal...

Well that's all I need. Done deal.
