  1. LA Knight has to be the long term plan for the US Belt and they couldn't have him take it from Mysterio (who imo had a really poor run), as he is Face.

There is no one more hated than LP by Wrestling fans for the exact reasons you've stated above. LA Knight as the biggest face, who has worked his way up the hard way v Paul who has been 'hand picked' is the perfect story.

I hate having two world titles, devalues being World Champion much.  It's not like they're brimming with World Title worthy superstars at the moment like the original brand split in 2002.

I'm guessing they may be doing this so Roman can go on a Sammartino style record reign without too much fan backlash.

We now have three belts as it stands, let alone two.

I think it's an awful booking decision, anyone that takes the title cant say the beat reigns and therefore its diminished. Only way i can see it working is someone who hasn't faced reigns in his run wins it, but i think he's been through everyone.

That ending had vinces grubby fingers all over it

What a absolute terrible ending to raw that made no sense from a storyline point of view

Give it a couple years and cody will go aew i predict. Codys been screwed over and shat on my vince.  That old fart needs to **** off. Its gone to shit again since he has been back.

Oh and he looks like a utter creep now with his "new look" too

    Spoiler

I think WWE had the opportunity on Sunday to 'Kill AEW.'

Cody wins and it shows there was a route for AEW guys to come and win things. With all the Punk stuff, you could have seen Bucks, Omega even Hangman jumping ship. Now if your're them you look over and see they won't put you as champ when you are red hot, then why go.

Agree the moustache is giving Evil Walt Disney Vibes

  4. Spoiler

With what happened on Raw, I think the burying of Rhodes begins.

Raw had Vince vibes with Brock potentially being back as a challenger to RR.

Based on fan reaction alone it just made sense for Rhodes at WM. even if they build for Rhodes at Summerslam it would be a lesser emotional win.

He matched Verstappen until he left in 2018, by which point Verstappen had done over 80 grands prix. But my point is not that he's as good as VER or even Norris, because he's clearly not. My point is that he was as quick as Verstappen in a car that suited him.

He's still capable of being quick, he's just not in the elite echelon of drivers that are quick in anything.

I agree his driving style being too limited is not a defence but I'm not defending him, I'm just trying to add more to the discussion than he is either quick or slow.

I agree he's not as good as he thinks he is, with the caveat that he might have the potential to be as quick as he thinks he is but he is not as versatile as he thinks he is.

Can't help but think he's lost some confidence as well. He was known as the "last of the late brakers" and went for overtakes where he had no right to, think Hungary 14 or 15 was one where he was in a class of his own. Now he doesn't go for those moves and seems too cautious.

Agree though he seems to "need" the right car, as opposed to others that can bring some performance to a bad car.

Oh this is going to be good

the wording of the tweet is the thing. Not even i haven't signed yet, a definitive "I Will Not be driving for Alpine."

Must have agreed with Mclaren, I think Ric might be out the door entirely, which will be such a shame for a man once talked about as being a dead cert Championship winner

Maybe, depends on what contract Piastri has signed with them. Gasly is in a very weird position. Long term he'd definitely be best getting out of the RB stable but currently it's hard to find another seat and he's good enough to beat anyone they could put in as his teammate.

I'd like to see Gasly be given a go back in the Red Bull, think he was promoted too early to them the first time. I personally think he'd be closer to verstappen than Perez is. I haven't seen too much in the Current F2 crop of Red Bull Junior Drivers to make me think they'll be challenging a Red Bull Seat in the next few years.

Leclerc has dropped a few points but he's clearly in the elite group with those two imo. I'm not even sure a lot of the points he's dropped are on him.

For example the spin last week was very similar to the spins the Mercs both had in quali in Austria and the spin Verstappen had this weekend. I think the current generation of cars are vulnerable to sudden snap oversteer when the ground effect gets compromised.

Meanwhile Ferrari have **** up race after race, even a race he won he had to do 10 laps with the accelerator sticking down.

Leclerc hammered Vettel and is hammering Sainz, he's probably the best qualifier on the grid and is very good at overtaking.

IMO Leclerc is just in the band below Lewis and Max, but above Russel, Norris currently. Be interesting to see what people driving lists would be mine currently would be

    Max
    Lewis
    --------------
    Leclerc
    --------------
    Norris
    Alonso
    Russell
    --------------
    Gasly
    Ocon
    Perez
    Vettel
    Riccardo
    Bottas
    ------------
    KMag
    Yuki
    Zhou
    -----------
    Mick
    ----------
    Albon
    ------------
    Latifi
    ------------
Stroll (would be further down if possible)

I think cody will win the rumble and be the one who beats reigns.

The biggest issue is thats 9 months away and reigns has beaten just about everyone. Also why bother tuning in to the ppvs if you know reigns is going to win?

You just know whoever beats reigns is just going to lose it same night to theory.  Ergh worst

Hopefully Theory goes nowhere now Vince has gone. Have him cash in and lose at CATC. Or cash in to win one then lose it

To be fair if you don't like it you should realise you just shouldn't be on VillaTalk

Unbelievable that Stenson is even considering giving up the Ryder Cup captaincy for the sake of Saudi $$$.

According to the web, Stenson is worth $60M and would no doubt earn another few million at least over the next couple of years, why he’d give up the Ryder Cup now just to chase down more money in events no one gives a toss about is just beyond me. So indicative of modern times, everyone just ‘does them’, ‘living their best life’ or whatever other retarded slogan gets bandied about these days when all it boils down to, is that they don’t give a flying shit about anyone or anything else so long as they’re okay and content.

I think if you were Stenson, seeing your mates (Poulter and Westwood etc) who haven't won a major, getting huge pay days in the twilight of their careers it would make you think.

Just give Rory a player/captain role. Seems to be the only one who isn't interested.

  12. What are peoples thoughts on AEW at the moment. For me it has losts its shine in the last few months. Hangman has put on great fights but i don't feel is pushing the Heavyweight picture forward. I wouldn't be surprised if he lost to Cole, and with a returning Omega coming sets up an Undisputed Era v Elite Storyline.

On the undercard, apart from MJF/Wardlow story it all seems a bit weak IMO. Punk slowly climbing up the ladder is fine but isn't wowing and the TNT belt scene is not interesting at the moment.

On the plus FTR are putting on 4.5/5 Star matches at the moment so the tag division is in good hand. ReDragon to take the titles and a FTR belt collector story will keep my interest there.

Would be interested to see if anyone else is thinking the product has dropped slightly recently?

Hopefully they unify them and that’ll be the end of the Universal Title

This is the only outcome that can make this storyline make sense. Could it be that with AEW's emergence there will be an end to the Brand Split? think it could be wishful thinking

The tv show rhodes to the top is what has made people turn againy cody. As he has a massive input on the booking. It does get annoying seeing him go over people like sami and malaki black. I think thats whats turned fans on him.

That would be a great "rhode" to go through.

I suspect it will be either MJF or Adam cole who beats page setting up a feud with punk later on.

Personally i would have moxley beat page.  He will make a great heel in aew.

A mox vs punk feud for the title would be epic

With the american audience I cant see Mox being Heel anytime soon. American's love a redemption story, and the battling your demons promo was so Face. I hope that there may be a few more "battle your demons" comments then maybe a 'Demon' arrives to AEW - Wyatt or Balor would be perfect.

AEW roster is looking so strong now - I wonder at what point some talent starts to get frustrated...soon you'll be having to fit in Page, Moxley, Danielson, Cole, Omega, Punk, MJF, Andrade(?) Miro into top spots, That's before you get to Darby Allen, Jungle boy, Rhodes, Malakai Black Jericho, Orange Cassidy. How they handle that will massive for AEW in the next couple of years.

I think punk will put MJF over.

I think MJF will  be the guy that dethrones adam page.

I feel its perfectly set up for Wardlow turning, costs MJF the victory, and starts their programme.

PUNK can move onto someone (upper mid card) then be in a position to challenge Page and beat him in 3-4 months time.

MJF beats wardlow (Extended programme) and then challenges Punk on the basis he Still hasn't been beaten clean.

MJF v Punk 2 for the title near the end of the year
