This match will be our 5-1 vs Sunderland from a few seasons ago.

    6-1 old chap!

I bloody hope so though! I'd take a scrappy 1-0 though.

Didn't we already have that v Sunderland this season?

Funny thing is, it actually got Poyet booted, so a 1-0 would have been better :(

    Anyone seen The Jinx?

    It's the Robert Durst documentary

    Talk about pay off

    Just finished.

Incredible series. One of the best things I've seen

    Amazing isn't it?

I'm inclined to disregard the 'confession' as I'm not sure it would hold up in court, it's effectively a senile old man muttering to himself.

The handwriting however, looks to be a slam dunk. Why didn't the police get a sample in the first place??

Ray Hudson on the US feed just said,

"Neymar's finishing has been as sharp as a bag of wet mice." Lol

I had that stream on and that bloke said some absolutely ridiculous things. Worst commentator i've ever heard. Described Neymars finishing as a fish in a tree or something, was just strange.

Also the way he was screaming down his microphone every time a foul took place or when Messi got the ball was just embarrassing.

Sounds like Ray Hudson, the Sid Waddell of football

  4. Today, a vulnerable young lady with mental health issues threw her new born baby out of a fifth story window and I caught him. Simple as that. Crying but safe in the palm of my hand. All sorts could have happened but it didn't, I caught him and now he's safe and hopefully she is too. Life is strange.

  5. It's **** awful. A bunch of pissed arseholes trashing the streets while wearing stupid **** hats and various items of green clothing because that somehow makes them 'Irish', despite the fact that the day has nothing to do with national identity, in fact it's a celebration of some old dead git that brought the very belief system that still clings on desperately to the country in the shape of ridiculous abortion laws etc.

And here was me thinking you'd be the type of guy to embrace it

  6.

QPR game will now be played on the 7th April. So United, QPR, Spurs and City.

    Really fantastic news that.

    Indeed

No-one likes to have a game in hand right up until the last week of the season. Especially if it's a 6 pointer, it would just add pressure

  7.

All that's left now is more backstory for characters who's fate we already know.

Odd thing to say. Did you see the first episode?

I've seen most episodes (albeit in a half arsed fashion) as my flatmate watches them

I was mainly referring to this being the Saul and Mike show, and that ultimately you can't escape the fact you know what happens to them.

    The Office (UK) for me.

When I watched Breaking Bad for the first time, I thought it had overtaken The Office in my favourites, but then I came to re-watch BB and the shock/cliff-hanger parts that made it great, has obviously lost all their effect on second viewing.

In my life, I've probably watched The Office series 1, 2 and specials about 10 times. It has genuine laugh-out-loud funny parts, cringe moments, drama and romance, all crammed into a really small series but written and performed brilliantly. It's still at the top of my list.

I tend to agree.  The sheer genius of it is it how it encapsulates British working life so perfectly, yet still remains extremely funny.  It deserves to be considered amongst the all time comedy classics, but probably won't because of Ricky Gervais who annoys a lot of people, and most things he's done since have just reprised the David Brent role.

I massively disagree with your last sentence.

Brent is unique. I don't think gervais' other characters are anything like Brent, apart from in appearance obviously.

Regarding the rest of your post, I agree. But the thing I find most fascinating about the way it perfectly captures working life is that, as far as I know, neither Gervais or Merchant ever worked in that sort of environment. So find it amazing that they replicated it so well.

I think Gervais worked in various offices in his thirties before he was famous

I'm watching the cup game again right now and on 54 minutes Lawrenson, upon the camera panning across the crowd in full voice states in a sarcastic manner - "oh, you're at the game all of a sudden?"

I'm no longer paying my licence fee. The product they produce simply isn't worth it to me.

Prepare to be chased to the end of the earth for your 12 pounds a month

No problem. I will see them in court.

So I've just watched Interstellar. Great film, really enjoyed it, but.....

The film leads you to believe that the wormhole near Saturn was created by future humans who exist within the 5th dimension, right? They create the wormhole so that Murphy can save the human race and their existence can carry on. Well, how did those humans get ot the point to exist within the 5th dimension in their first timeline? Ie, they couldn't create the wormhole for themselves so surely they would have become extinct?  Or have I missed something?

I thought it was a paradox.

It does make sense... but is pretty complicated so i can't explain it now 6 months after seeing the film.

If you type the question into google, there are a couple of sites which take you through the full iteration of getting to that point.

If i remember correctly, we aren't necessarily watching the first-time events but one of the iterations after the timeline is changed. or something like that

These happen all the time. The Terminator 'part' left behind by the Terminator leading to the creation of the...Terminators

  12. I don't think it is. Sunderland were doomed under Poyet. They are absolutely dreadful.

A bit like us under Lambert, they're squad is not as bad as their performances make it look.

I think we'll do enough regardless, but always better to have teams down there worse than you.

Hopefully they appoint a useless assistant a la QPR
