  1. Those who want him out before the end of this season are wasting their energy. They may be wasting their energy if they want him out before the end of his contract as well

I don't believe this! If the fans want him out it will show at the games and like McLiesh finally got forced out, so will Lambert. Remember if the fans turn, his position will become untenable and Lerner will have no choice than to give him the boot.
What do you mean "if the fans want him out", the majority now want him gone. The away fans turned on him Saturday, another poor performance against Crystal Palace will see the Holte shouting "We Want Lambert Out".
  2. In the time he has been here, we have NEVER won three on the trot, even times when we have won two on the bounce are very few and far between.

There should be no expectation that he is capable of going on a Newcastle type run, because he just does not have that capability.

That is not surprising since he has lost 46% of the games he has managed us for and won only 30%.

When you can't coach the so called "better" players we have this year to create chances, score goals, defend properly or even pass the ball as well as a League 2 team, then you have no chance of winning 3 in a row.

This man is clearly incapable at managing at this level and it still surprises me that people still think he can.

This year we will come closer to relegation than before and might actually go down unless Lerner grows a pair and replaces this clown and quickly.

    a] Stoke (W), Newcastle (D), Hull (W), Liverpool (W) - "no chance" of winning 3 in a row?

b] He clearly is capable of managing at this level. He's not been relegated.

By all means want Lambert out, but don't just make things up :D

Who's making stuff up, the stats don't lie. We have created the fewest chances (23 shots in 11 games), scored the fewest goals (5).

We just beat a poor stoke team, were lucky to get nil nil vs a 10 man Newcastle, put a strong side out against Leyton Orient (League 1) at home and lost, won against a tired Hull team coming back from a European away match and then beat a poor Liverpool side (by far Lamberts best results in some time).

I didn't want Lambert to start with but got behind him in his first season after the disaster that was Eck, was encouraged by our strong finish, was optimistic in his second season but sadly he disappointed big time and I wanted him out because of the poor results and awful football.

However, after a promising transfer window bringing in better players (and probably because I thought we would be sold by Lerner and a new manager bought in), I said I would give him 10 games to see how he got on with Keane as coach. Guess what, nothing has changed.

We have better players than at anytime under Lambert, the football is just as dire and the results are still the same.

Einstein's definition if insanity is "doing the same thing time and time again and expecting a different result". Enough is enough, the time for change is now before it is too late.

  4. Unless Randy takes the training, sets the tactics and does the ahem motivational team talks, then it can only be Lambert's fault that he cannot get the best out of what he has got. We have better players than most of the bottom 10.

Yes Randy is at fault for not providing more funds for players or wages, but he is more at fault for poor managerial appointments and not taking decisive action for what is the worst Premier League manager we have ever had.

  5. I can't believe people are still defending him, he is the worst Premier League manager we have every had.

His record speaks for itself, he has lost 46% of the games he has managed.

    PL loss ratios: Taylor(combined)34% Venglos37% Atkinson31% Little31% Gregory29% O'Leary37% O'Neill26% Houllier39% Eke38% Lambert46%!

Not to mention all the records he has broken, the next one being relegation from the Premier League for the first time.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

  6. As usual, the managers ego is getting in the way. Too stubborn to change they way he sets the team up or change it around during games. When players voice their concerns he banishes them from the squad. He wants only yes men to continue to feed his ego trip. This will only end one way...relegation, going to put a bet on it now.

  7. but at that time when mon was after a striker, harry would not sell us bent, heskey was 3m?

this thread is about RL.. my question is the sums do not add up? this club is turning over 60-80m a season but 10m is on playing staff, take wages 40m that leaves errrrrr alot not invested in better players,

AVFC has the 7th or 8th biggest seating stadium in the league, with regular gates 70-80% full.. that alone & tv money should get 20-30m every year for the manager, yet this year 10m..something wrong

It's called Lerner taking out money from the club covertly. Turnover is over £100m, wages around £55m, yet we just break even.....hhhmmmm.

  8. Isn't tomorrow the 30 day deadline after the announcement? News tomorrow then please (Yes I agree there probably is no such ruling but it's the only optismism I can muster).

Doubt we will have any further news until after World Cup. Sadly looks like any sale is dead for now.

  9. There may be other advantages too. Perhaps Sid would put Clark in for Baker and have Bowery nowhere near the bench. The players may have an issue with Lambert and a change might just give them a boost. Sid might have wanted to do things in training or implement match tactics that Lambert hasn't tried.

The fact is we're already losing miserably and not performing. If we sacked Lambert and the same happened under Sid then we haven't lost anything, but if got rid now the there's a glimmer of hope, a chance that things might change for the better. They sure as hell aren't going to get much worse.

The way I see it is: fire Lambert and create some hope that Sid might change it up, or keep Lambert and therefore ensure that we will keep playing the way we have been lately.

    No-brainer for me.

Sid may bring back Nzobia too, we could do with the creativity.
I know we all love Sid but he ain't no Mr Myiagi!
Nzogbia is better than Tonev and gives us a different option. He also has experience of a relegation fight.

Isn't he out for the season?

I think sacking him at this point will do more bad than good. Norwich tried the same with a key game and tough ones to follow and they've just got worse.

Thought he was back training, albeit with the bomb squad.
