  1. I voted go the last time and i am voting go this time. Just don't think we play the type of football that should grace Villa Park. I don't think we will gain the success we all crave playing the Martin O'Neill way and he has wasted millions on transfers. He has taken 4 years to build a solid defence and we still lack creativity in midfield and that 20 goals a season striker. Even when such a striker becomes available, he refuses to buy him. Bent's success at Sunderland should be giving O'Neill nightmares and that very player might jump up and bite O'Neill in the arse!

I want to see the type of football that 'Big Ron's' 90s team played and gained success with it. 'Big Ron' had an eye for the player who could do that something extra and win matches. Martin O'Neill views that type of player with suspicion and although we have gained some very creditable results and league finishes, i do believe with a more forward thinking manager at the helm, we would as far as quality of squad and Cup success is concerned, be much further forward.

I hope i have to eat a huge lump of humble pie at some stage inside the next year which will end the 'five year plan.' However, i sincerely doubt it and i believe O'Neill has taken us as far as he can!

    just nearly choked

  2. none of the above?

Suppose i'd be classed as an armchair supporter - but I live in Ireland!

I get over once or twice a year and I'd love to be in a position to hold a season ticket.

    Up the Villa

This, although from Sweden, but still the same situation. Find it hard to be labelled armchair fan, though. :P

Same, although I'm from Copenhagen. Have supported Villa since 1980. Also find it hard to be classed as an armchairfan

me too, used to try get over every season when i lived in ireland but now in sydney nearly 3 years.. the worst part of livin here is missin the ball at normal times.... up at half 4 to watch the poo game yest, well worth it thou....

keep tellin my bird i wanna go to brum but she's havin none of it... she's a cockney

  3. i just feel so disappointed and let down by the game today, it was clear wigan had the better of us after 15 mins, **** disaster. Delph dosnt look ready, we need big john but we defo underestimated wigan who were quite impressive, they'll hav no relegation worries this yr

  4. good article mate, share the same feelings really....

lived just outside dublin all my life til i moved to sydney over 2 years ago....

best villa game i was at 3-1 v blues wen cahill scored the overhead.. i was in the holte that day and its still the best moment of my life....

its a lot more awkward to follow the prem/villa now although more villa games are televised which is handy- how i miss those sat and sunday afternoons watchin the footie in the boozer.... its a bit harder now, wen sometimes im watchin matches at 4 o'clock or even 7 o'clock in the mornin..... i've lost 2 jobs thus far for takin days off for villa games.... but i guess i just know wats important....

however- if we get to istanbul i'll be there and if we win the league i can assure u you'll see me in the holte pub!!!!

    up the villa.....

  5. General, happy new year, and i would also like to offer my condolences on the death of 'The Brute'...

I moved to Sydney over 2 years ago from Ireland. My question is regarding are marketing in Oz??

As the Australian leauge (tHe A-League) gets stronger and stronger each year (although would still be equivalent to league 1 in England)and 'soccer' is still growing each year, in fact, soccer was the most popular sport selected by kids in school this year ahead of the usual cricket and rugby league....

anyway im kinda rambling here so i'll get to the point... i think we shoud increase our marketing in oz as the pemier league is huge over here and with us attempting to break the big 4we are makin a lot of fans/well wishes... so i think we should increase our marketing in oz...

also if u know of any good australian villa fans clubs, i'd love to get in touch with them!!

  6. if he proves his loyalty on the pitch, he can stay. if he goes, it must for 18 miliion, not a penny less. THAT IS VITAL....

but i ask you all ( and mods if u can put a poll up it wud be nice) this question...

IF GARETH BARRY DOES STAY, WAT HAPPENS 3RD GAME OF THE SEASON AGAINST THE POOL??

    Surely he cannot be played????

    Barry for liverpool game???

    Yes or NO?
