  1. I still think a sale is closer than many think.  (of course that's not hard to be true because some here seem to think there will be no sale until next summer AT THE EARLIEST.)  Anyway, I think it's sooner rather than later, but I also think Lambert is guaranteed to stay for a season.

Nobody in their right mind would sign up to be part of his coaching staff it that weren't the case.  Nobody is going to hitch their wagon to a dying star.  He will need the guarantee to garner any interest at all.  Of course, I suspect that several of us on here would be willing to do the coaching for him.  :)   So Paul, if you want to give me a shot, just call me.    (Cue the caustic - "we couldn't do any worse" comments)

I hope you're right however I think no deal is even close I wouldn't be surprised if no firm offers have even been made.

  2. Reading the takeover thread, every now and then somebody says something along the lines of 'i dont want a rich sheik, I want Villa to keep its soul'.

Does Ason Villa have 'a soul' for us to lose in case we spend more money then now? Did we lose our soul when Lerner first came in and started spending big? If we spend 30 million do we still remain with our soul, but is 35 just too much?

We have our souls ripped out of us most weekend.

I'm firmly in show me the big bucks camp

  3. That thing in the office "The bitch" .I've never met some with inner beauty so unattractive shes makes Jimmy Saville look attractive and pure.

She shouldn't get me mad but she is one nasty cow that looks like she's been chewing a wasps nest for the last 3 months

Just to clarify she really pisses me off

  4. At what stage did Learner take over? Was it out of season? This does have disaster written all over it if nothing has happened well before the season has started. How are Paul and Co (the ones that aren't sacked) supposed to make plans? This is all a bit up in the air.

This leads me to think that the buyers may actually be in place and the finer details are just being sorted. The bomb squad are back in play to give the club added value. Lambert is simply on a remit to make a competitive team out of what he's got until a new owner comes in and gets rid.

Prettysure it's was out of season just after MON started............me must of knew before hand that Lerner was in

  5. Yeah he's worth around 50 billion ain't 95% of the tied up into charity's? If so that leaves him a few billion, how much of that few bill do you think would come our way? . Lets face it the money Villa need to return to former glory and catch up with the top 4 or 5 teams would be massive amounts, then you have the age factor 70 years of age how long would Villa play a part in his life?.

Realistically it makes no sense for a man like Ellison to buy Villa.

    NO!

When he dies he is leaving 95% of his wealth to bill gates charity that's it nothing to do with his wealth while he is alive.

If that's the case then I'll take back what I said.

What I was getting at is once you start paying for a club then start rebuilding a team to try and challenge for the title or champions league ( if that's what the new owners goal was ) that would take a nice big chunk out of that " few billion " . Which then makes that "few billion" not look so massive.

  6. Ellison is better than nothing but I'm hoping it ain't him, he's 70 and people forget most of his money is tied up in charity's and lets face it a few billion in the world of football ain't a great deal if you want to play with the big boys

Lol let's see what happens :)

  9. I think if we ain't sold and big bucks spent before the season starts we will be in a heap of shit and playing in the championship 15/16 season :( .

Onto the Lambert side of things I'm not a fan of Lamberts skills as a manager however who else would be crazy enough to fill his shoes the moment with all this shit going on.
