Something i heard flying around today and i dunno who plucked this rumour out of their arrse, but anyhow apparently Benteke IS infact a Spuds player he signed a contract with them at a lower price than we quoted but part of the deal is we keep him for next season as a Villa player..

The religious aspect that seems to creeping into the game more and is almost quietly changing certain traditions to the game.  Needs to be nipped in the bud sooner rather than later.

Well the MOTM champaigne is now apparently alcohol free so not to offend 'certain religions' and also now sponsors can be conflicting with 'certain religions'.

People lets not panic just yet its pre season games we're probably playing at 60% tops he's told the players to treat it as a training match, whats the point in going hell leather in a friendly running thr risk of players getting injured for start of the season.  Look at Italy they always look awful in friendlies during the run up to World Cups/Euro's and then end up finishing semi's or finals most of time.

With them being on a break for the last few weeks then going straight into intensive training its probably normaly for a few niggles etc

i would imagine so but their not serious injuries.. just niggles as they get used to the intensity. I think it will be beneficiary in the long run. I hope!

They'll probably all leave on deadline day when clubs are desperate because their first, second, third, and fourth options have all fallen through. Will make it difficult to bring in someone new if that's the case.

whats frustrating as i've stated on other threads is the sale of Bent etc is holding up funds that can/could be used to invest in other players that Lambert wants

Given is already gone on loan. Really we are just looking to offload Hutton, Bent, Bannan, Ireland.

I think some of the Given wages went to Benteke, so lets assume the other four are on 200k a week between them (Bent 80, Bannan 20, Hutton 40, Ireland 60) then that is room for two big signings under our wage budget.

Its just frustrating we've got to wait for these wasters to do one (Bent excused to an extent) before we have strengthen further

Things are so positive atm.  The squad that Lambert has now is HIS squad he had segregated the players he doesn't want so we are not having to make do with players we dont want or like  just like we have been used to over the last 2-3 seasons, exciting times for us ahead
