  1. When Helenius was signed he said that Lambert told him he would be playing behind a target man or as a wide forward.

He was not brought in as a target man. He is not strong enough for it anyway.

Actually I think a  lot of people are thinking too little of his physics.

He is big.. and he knows how to use his arms.. in the danish league (which of course is a lesser league)

He still had to pass players like Jores Okore(who is a beast by the way) on a daily basis.. and Helenius played alone on top.

One of his abilities was getting past 2-3 defenders and creating chances out of nothing.

  2. I'm sorry I'm not that much into your squad.. but I noticed nobody is mentioning Darren Bent..
maybe its a silly question but isn't he your targetman? or is he one of the guys  playing out wide.

  3. I really don't think its a good idea putting the pressure on Helenius of making him main target in his first season.

He is a 2million prospect signing.. not a guy who should carry a Premier League side right away.

Its all so new and big to him, he is a from a small city in Jutland, Denmark
If you don't get another striker and Helenius doesn't score the first 3-4 matches.. it might completely destroy his confidence

  4. Hardly ever is an understatement.. I think he scored 1 header for Aab.. out of all his goals. and he was the one most surprised.

but Aab has a really good coaching staff in Kent Nielsen and Allan Kuhn,
Allan Kuhn was Manager for Aab when we played 2-2 vs. Manchester United at Old Trafford, he wanted to focus on family or something and after a few years Managing other clubs

he wanted to go back to Aab to be assistant

Anyways!!.. He wrote on twitter the day Helenius was sold:

Sådan @NicklasHelenius, super fortjent kontrakt med Villa, godt vi fik styr på venstrebenet og hovedspillet...

'Way to Go NicklasHelenius, Deserved contract with Villa, a good thing we got that Left kick and your heading under control'

  5. If the Helenius song 'We love to fight and do Cocain.. and Niiiiiiiiiicklas Helenius' which he had in Aalborg is a bit too crude

how about this one..  Aab some years back had an American.. and he was really a shy, quiet guy.. and whenever he scored the crowd would sing, this song (changed name to Nicklas)

    to the chorus of:

'Pet Shop Boys - Go West'

    NICKLAAAAAAAS!!!!!.... Is getting laid tonight

  6. When Nicklas writes 'bad at english' he is comparing himself to other danes.
I'm 29 and have been to most countries in Europe at some point.

And I feel comfortable saying we danes probably speak the best english (not counting countries where english is the native tongue)

in fact, most under 50 are fluent, and most under 30 would be able to adapt a british accent in a matter of months.

The worst english speaking dane is still better than any french, spanish, italian guy.

    @adz.villa ..

You can take the 'We love to fight and do cocain... and NICKLAS HELENIUS' away as his song

but you can never take away the way he stupidly snorts everytime he speaks, which I personally believe is the reason he got that song to begin with.

  7. well that might be true, but Helenius has had many Clubs after him.. sporting Lissabon, Ajax to mention two.
Lissabon made an offer Helenius turned Down.
even if he does fail in Villa, you can't take away his 2 seasons in Aalborg as a topscorer or the fact that he has been on the national team.
that alone would make him attractive to any Danish Club.
we see that a few times in the Danish League, some great player leaves for a big Club, doesn't get to play a lot and then returns to the highest bidder in the Danish League.

  8. A problem I also see, is the fact that with that pricetag, Cornelius is bought to be a starter.
a 20-year-old kid coming from a much inferior League.. thats a gamble having him as a starter.
Helenius will have some time to grow into his role..
He won't need to deliver from the first game, but can get the 10/15minutes now and then as he should the first 2 months.
How any player should be established.

and with Helenius' pricetag.. I Mean its practically impossible to lose Money on him.. even if he doesn't score a single goal in 2 years..
he will still only be 24 with Premier League experience.. getting 1.5mill for him won't be a problem.

  9. however silly Bendtner is.. I would gladly have my team pay 2mill to sign him ;)

As far as I remember his goals per. minute rate for arsenal is ridciously good..

And as a dane you never give up on Bendtner.. cause he did stuff like this on the national team

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyB9fDAKBbI

He was a big reason we ended no. 1 in the euro qualifications ahead of Portugal, and why we had some great games

in 'the Group of death' where we won 1-0 against fan favourites Holland

  10. Well we have a twisted sense of humour in Denmark aswell.. just like we danes know you have.
I dont think most Aalborg fans do fight and take cocain, and I dont think the opposing teams think we do :)

I personally love the silly twist on it, and it really does show just how much you love Helenius ;)

  11.

Says he officially signed a 3 years deal.. just now on a danish paper

You see that's where we differ from most clubs - our attention to detail, ensuring our players sign deals on specific paper from their own country.

no no.. he signed the deal, not you.. you would probably offer him the sun... I wonder if he has to pay to get them delivered each day.

  12. just for inspiration on Helenius(from a danish fan)
posted this in his thread, but here seems the proper place:

I know you are gonna want to make your own song for Helenius of course. But his current one is so absurd I wanted to tell it.
Dont ask me how he got this one, but its sung when he scores.

it goes to the 'y viva espana'
26 seconds into this clip: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=W7aPp-4z-uw

and the lyrics go 'We love to fight and do cocain... and Niiiiiiiicklas Helenius'

  13. 3 years deal is a good way to go at it.. he will have 2 years to prove himself an investment.

if he doesn't make it in those 2 years, he could be sold to another club in a lesser league probably without any loss

  14. 29-year-old Aab fan from Denmark here..

I'm here mostly because its interesting to see how a Danish talent from my team can develop in a bigger League

but also because I love to discuss football.
And honestly I don't cheer for a specific English team, in fact I only really cheer for Aab, in my own opinion you can only 'really' be fan of one team

I just like to go  where the action is, read opinions and give my own.
