Wolves are going all blues on us. Apparently shit loads will be in the villa end when we play them. Granted, might be a few hundred, but that's about it. Always remember them failing to sell out at villa park two years on the bounce when they were in the prem. one of those games they were 1.000 short of selling out with the other being 4-500.

I remember this, one being a early kick off under McLeish, they cited price as a reason, they have also done the same at small heath with hundreds of tickets going unsold

Also I noticed in the upper trinity there are a few tickets along the very back rows that have been sold, which I always find suspicious in games like this

  2. Ticket sales have hit 30000 according to the official site, they have only sold 1000 in the lower, hopefully we can stick a few more on the gate- one of those expected to win comfortably but will no doubt make hard work of it like Bolton earlier in the season

5-1 was great but I think 2006 was the better result considering the team we had playing. No Mellberg, Delaney, Laursen, Hendrie, Bouma, Angel starting that day and a lot of youth players in the team

I will always remember the days before getting the team of twitter waiting to hear on WM if Mellberg had made it, and bricking it walking down thinking we had no chance with Cahill and RIdgewell.  If I remember right we were decent that first half and Sutton scored literally on half time.

The 2-2 always stands out for me, for an hour we destroyed them, we were superb then the last half hour we were hanging on, and then Vassell on the half way line giving it straight back to them right on the half way line in stoppage time and the rest is history.

  4. So I see now the small heath book of excuses has now resorted to locations of fans, and as we have a following from across the midlands the city will always be blue, they never cease to amaze me with their pitiful excuses.

From their forum, about talking to some Villa fans.

They've never sounded so nervous and insecure. Utterly broken on the inside.

I said that Jota scored 2 goals the other day and I've never seen the blood drain quicker from somebodies face. They're shitting themselves.

There's a strange feeling in the air in the build up to this one, unlike the previous few derbies. This upcoming one smells like 2003 and 2010.

I asked them to watch our highlights against Sheffield Wednesday where we ripped them apart for 45 minutes. They haven't spoken to me since.

They're worried. I told them it's only football and they burst into tears.

This time Blues won't be reverting back to 1st gear in the second half. It will be fire and fury for the whole 90 minutes.

    Kill them Blues

Amazing how their narrative changes after wins against high flying Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland (we won't mention the Huddersfield capitulation)

  6. I just cannot see anything other than a Villa win Sunday, quality aside I think we have too many seasoned pros in the squad who know what this game means that lack of fight and aggression will not be an issue.

I also think it is good now we have an option in Grabban on the bench if in the second half (assuming he doesn't start) that we can mix it up and properly change the approach

    2-0 Villa for me.

Surely the whole reason for having a 12pm kick off is to help prevent clearings in the woods getting their Dutch courage and causing trouble before, during and after the game. Opening local pubs at 8am defeats the purpose.

More likely the reason is that if the trouble makers are in the pubs the police can keep an eye and know where they are.

See i thought derby dominated up tp the mistake then we went at them with little to now quality and second half they did absolutely nothing until they scored that sucker punch.

They certainly defended a hell of a lot better than us. If vydra was injured like kodj has derby would struggle like we have.

Bruce made a fatal error by not playing a striker and he deserves to be critised for that. That was sheer embarassing. I never want to see a team without a recognised striker again from him

What I find most baffling though is it took him 70 minutes to put a striker on!!

I agree to an extent with your point though, we had a lot of possession but we are so slow to advance forward that Derby had ample time Saturday to get their shape back and we had no where to go, nor had any invention to break them down or find a killer pass, bar Grealish, who whenever he seemed to get close to the box, had no options on for him.  Even when we were having a go second half I cant really remember many clear chances we had, the weak Snodgrass effort and Hogans glancing header which was a tough one but bar those I am struggling.

I would like to put it down to a bad day at the office, but we seem to have to many of these bad days at the office against the teams in and around us, especially away from home.

Not at all. Derby were not better than us in the slightest, one was idiotic and stupid by whelan and undefendable in my eyes

I thought bar Grealish & Johnstone Saturday Derby were far superior than us, they should of been 2 up within the first couple of minutes.

The away end could see it was not working at half time, yet as per usual we have to wait 70 mins for a sub (and a striker) to come onto the pitch

Even more baffling was his BBC WM interview.

Can anyone that went confirm if our fans were as quiet as they sounded on TV?

It's weird how the fans haven't seemed to be up for this fixture the last 2 seasons.

I was there, I think there were periods when we were quiet but thought especially when Jedinak and Davis came on we really got behind them, that saying with a limited allocation about 700/800 fans down on a normal scum allocation guess it will always be tough for it to come across on the tv

That saying I thought they were rather quiet but just my opinion

They brought 15 coaches and had 2 special trains put on for them last year. They regularly bring coaches to Villa park. Coaches are only on this year for us because of the railway lines being down for "repairs"

Just remember these are the same fans saying we still haven’t sold out the away allocation. Scum

Because its 10 mins in a taxi, or an hours walk from Aston. Or 20 mins walk from town. Max

Not quite that quick after though is it, what was it over 2 hours last season back to Brum.

  13. To me this is one of those games which is all about game management, First 15-20 all blood and thunder with the Home fans really backing them, to me get past this goalless and I’m hoping the quality we have will tell

We should be steamrolling poor teams like this, but as it’s a derby. I’m just hoping the Likes of Terry Chester and Whelhan keep the heads calm and if we do go 1 down we don’t buckle

This is where we need the likes of Kodja and Adomah not to bottle it even though they are going to go in hard on them

Utter bullshit. It's the same clearings in the woods that are saying we never sold out last year  even though our allocation sold out on the first day of sales.

I thought it was odd......they are coming out the woodwork saying the usual BS rejected Tickets running scared etc, I thought it was all agreed with the police ie we both got 2100
