He’s one of those annoying players that just has a knack of scoring shed loads of goals (if fit) so all for it personally.

I’d go

Rayan Cherki AM/LW(25-35M), Amine Gouiri ST/LW(20-30M). Added to this Buendia AM/RW and Bailey RW/LW/ST I think we’d be covered across the front four, supported by El Ghazi (I’d listen to offers for him) and Bert.

For midfield I think we need a world class box to box CM, someone like Locatelli (would he come to us?), perhaps 45-50M

I’d also pick one of Tchouameni, Anguissa or Kamara as an out and out DM so we can mix it up formation wise (433, 4231 or even a 4141), perhaps 25-30M tops

Total spend 120-145M

For the CB role I’d look for a loan, possibly with an option to buy or try and unearth another gem like Konsa. I’d keep Steer as a No2.

I don’t get the clamour for Ward-Prowse, especially if Grealish is off. Granted he is brilliant at set pieces but his stats aren’t massively different to Sanson’s

I thought that young lad who went to Wolfsburg from Man City looked a good option for us, Onocha was it?

Have no idea on his market value but I’d  like us to look at Luis Muriel at Atalanta. Think his stats are similar to Watkins but at 30 he might be too much and not fit in with our recruitment policy, although Young is 36.

Mentioning Skoda though you reminded me of a mate of mine who had one for his first car when he turned 17. 

Back then Skodas were rubbish, his old man actually bought another one at they time….for £50, for parts…..for when his broke. 

I remember jumping one of the old local humpback bridges in the thing, a couple of slabs in the front boot (to balance it out we thought). Landed it the other side rally style too, proper dukes of Hazzard stuff. My mate said the steering felt weird on route home. When his old man checked it in the morning we’d broken the steering column. How we didn’t die that night I have no idea.

Intelligent, passionate, articulate, not scared to voice his opinion on some pretty big subjects.

The guy has been through his fair share of troubles and come out the other side, he’s a role model to everyone and I’m so grateful that Bournemouth ‘rinsed us for him’ and he’s at our club, awesome footballer, leader and human being

If Grealish goes and I personally think he’s off (prove me wrong Jack) I’d seriously go all in for Cherki at Lyon. 

He’s only 17 but his stats mirror those of Grealish already. Granted his figures are slightly lower in places but it was strange how similar the highs and lows were. 

His progressive carries was very high, something which our Jack is top at. 

Would take a sizeable bid but it would send a statement out to the footballing world if we got him before a so called ‘big’ team. 

Looked a level above El Ghazi. I know it’s only preseason but El Ghazi got double figures last year and JPB has made a load more intelligent runs in the games I’ve seen so far and had some decent scoring opportunities. 

Still a bit raw I’d say but the sign are positive.

I think it’ll be Young to start with as he seems fitter at present. I agree Young gives us some scope to change our systems at the back dependant on who we’re playing. Has Smith ever used a back 3 though with wing backs in his time at Walsall, Brentford?

Is Buendia’s switch inside and the Bailey purchase due to us missing out on ESR?

Personally I think Buendia is a better No10 than ESR anyway so can understand us moving him inside if Bailey came available and ESR was a no go.

I had Buendia RW, Grealish LW, especially with us chasing a No10. The Bailey signing, chuffed as I am we’re getting him, makes me scratch my head a bit.

I’m not sure where we’re going to set up this season. The ESR chase would imply we want a new No10, but that would imply Buendia our wide right. I thought Bailey played predominantly on the right so confused if he’s the Grealish replacement.

If the plan was ESR at No10, Grealish left and Buendia right the links to Bailey and more recently Sarr are a bit weird.
