I'm not sure why he does it, he did it twice on Saturday and started one of their attacks. Also other memorable example was the Zaha chance he set up. Hope he'll be told to stop that.

Absolutely love them . I think you just have to trust him .His touch with his left foot is so so good . He can appear nonchalant but thats just him i think and his personality.  The bloke is a scarily good finisher when you watch back from 2015 onwards. And he was rated extremely high in terms of potential back in the day . Another player that we thought was overpriced maybe but lange and smith can see the hidden value and unlock it .

  2. 3. We will not be banning fans from our games. I absolutely understand the issue of security and we will go to GREAT lengths to ensure that our Fans and theirs our secure at each location. One of the ways to really ensure that there are no incidents after the game is to apply the "5-1 rule" which causes the opposing fans to vacate the stadium early thus avoiding confrontation!!!!!!!

General... I will seek you out at the last game of the season and buy you a pint...funniest comment seen on here in years!!!!

  3. lets put it another way General. When you were in charge of the marine corps would you have been satisfied to see your men being sent out to battle without the right weapons, training and armour? Would you have accepted your defence secretary saying that he is working hard to get in the correct weaponry and then sat around accepting it when this weaponry didn't come to fruition? I guess you would be furious and unhappy that you had been lied to.

Well AVFC is our army General and only a blind man would not be able to see the glaring problems . We were lied to constantly under Ellis and given spin on an almost constant basis. You have to take this into account when posting on this board. So far it seems that this situation is starting to occur again. Its always been easy to say ..yeah Randys loaded. He spent 4 mill on a pub so imagine how much he has for transfers......

However I'm questioning this now because despite us being in desparate need of additions there has been no action to remedy this. No excuses about targets not being avialable. I f a target isn't available then he wasn't a target in the first place.I hate to be crude but its now time to " SHOW ME THE MONEY" . Its time for Randy and MON to change their cautious approach and grow some balls or they are quickly going to feel a general backlash.I can already imagine a chant of " wheres the money gone " first game of the season.

  4. General - unfortunately I have to agree with the posters above and post a message regarding the current transfer situation. I cannot ever remember a time when we were so light on numbers. The continued messages from yourself that Martin knows the situation and is working on it is becoming a well worn path. Simply put , if we don't get significant quality additions then this team is going to stand still which in the premier league means going backwards.

    Thanks

    A truly puzzled Villa fan

  5. we desparately need a right midfielder. Someone of real quality and skill . 4 years ago Solano came to us in Jan and transformed our play as all of a sudden we had balance. If MON can pull something out of the bag then we could go on to have a storming end to the season.

  6. The most impressive thing about Gabbys goal return is he isn't patchy. He doesn't score a hatrick and then dissapear for a month.

He has scored 6 goals in 6 separate games which suggests real consistency to me . I think we can safely say that he isn't just promising any more. Now if we can turn these games where he scores once into games where he scores twice then we will have a serious talent on our hands. My feeling is he will do it as the improvement over last year is plain to see already. His ability in the air has improved, his ability to hold off defenders has improved, his technical ability has improved. I expected him to be a marked man this season as defenders know all about him now. The fact that they know all about him but still can't do anything about it is testament to his improvement.

    2. An assessment of the damage to the Holte Pub shows beer and coke splashed against the walls, broken glass, beer and coke on the floor, holes in ceiling. It is NOT minor damage and will require re-painting of some areas and, obviously, repairs to the ceiling. I cannot imagine what got into our own fans to treat that historic building in such a manner. Someone has used the term "over-exhuberance" on another thread....I don't buy that. Can you imagine a friend coming into your home and punching holes in your ceiling, pouring beer and coke on your floor and walls and breaking glass on your floors??? Unsat.

General. The holes in the ceiling are unacceptable . However to think that there wouldn't be broken bottles, glasses etc in a pub where EVERY person is there to watch the football, and everyone a Villa fan at that is just a pipe dream on derby day . The derby brings passion and stupidness in equal measure . People you see at games who normally wouldn't say boo to a goose go crazy .When you have a city rivalry that literally splits it and friends straight down the middle this is the result. I can't think that I would EVER throw beer or coke in a friends house but The Holte is a pub . A beautifully restored pub but still a pub at the end of the day. With the way our culture is and has been for hundreds of years a pub is a place to go to drink alcohol and let your let your hair down. Broken glass and damage is unfortunately a side effect of that letting off of steam.

As has been echoed before , maybe making the Holte guests only when the derby comes around is the best way to go.

  8. as I said. 6 and a half years since we won away in the premiership on tv. Last win was away to Charlton in 2001

shit your probably right. Was our win against SHA 2 years ago not televised?

it wasn't . Shitty statistic isn't it and one that is pretty unbelievable

  9. I hate to bring this up again but if we are to win at the sty we are going to have to break what is now a 6 1/2 year stretch without an away win on the tv in the premiership. Oh how I would like to break that particular duck.

They always raise their game but if we can get the right players on the ball and have less hoof, more craft then we definately have the tools to do the job. Everyone is going to have to be on their game as you can be sure they will.

Carew will be key and I just have sneaking suspicion that Petrov will come up with something on Sunday as well.

  10. thought I would revive this one as I saw them live last week at the Gamestation supplier conference of all places. Came back from Berlin to do the show and then straight back to Munich afterwards. No going through the motions for the cash. They **** rocked it. They have a fantastic vibe with the crowd.

Had a good chat and a beer afterwards with them. Chatted to Phil about the Villa , he's from a die hard claret and blue family. Also heard some great stories about driving round Brighton in Mike Skinners pimped up roller. Completely down to earth lads and realise they are living the dream. Just gonna have fun while it lasts. Me thinks they'll have a difficult second album though

  11. General. Just a small gripe about the phone system at the ticket office. I was trying for about an hour today to get through to an advisor. Thats understandable with the Liverpool tickets on sale. However after getting a dialing tone and going through to the options and pressing 1 to speak to a customer advisor the phone was engaged and I would have to ring again. After 5 successful attempts to get through the first part, followed by 5 engaged tones for the customer advisors I gave up. Surely we can be placed in a queue system to avoid this annoyance?

  12. I don't get why more people aren't upset we appear to be missing out on Scott Parker... Surely we can out attract West Ham? I think he's a quality player, and I would have him over Barton and NRC.

And thank God the Bellamey rumour is dying down... Bent would be a much better bid...

Parker- its obvious he wants to be back in London. Injured more and more these days . We have a younger, more energetic version at VP already. Goes by the name of Gardner.
