Not singling you out at all here TRO, but a few people have wondered this. However, I don't see what Moyes would have discovered when meeting with Dr. T that Hollis would not have found in weeks of investigations?

I've said it many times but, whilst I don't necessarily trust Hollis to run a football club, I do trust him to do his homework in the sale process. This is Hollis' forte, plus he'll know the Chinese market from working in this region. People that tend to rise to the top in the professional auditing world tend to be sticklers for detail.

He knows the region and is a very qualified man. However, unfortunately Chinese businesses operate in a completely different way to those within Europe and the West. It is not nearly beyond the realms of possibility that if they wanted to hide something, or make it as though something is there which isn't they could do exactly that.

I was only talking to somebody this evening who has been dealing with KPMG themselves in the last few years, and they have been wrong several times. Millions of £ wrong.

  2. Also, can anyone think of any big name managers that have actually joined championship teams in say the last 10 years???

The biggest (and I say biggest in relation to the division) is probably Alladyce going to West Ham as far as I can think? It's not like good/successful managers regularly drop to the championship.

Can't believe really with a vastly wealthy new owner who has nearly £1/2 m loose change sitting in a bank account, is friends with the President of China, and aims to make us one of the top 3 clubs in the world, that we are apparently looking at Di Matteo or Pearson as our manager.

Seems a bit of a modest beginning.

Yes but we are in the CHAMPIONSHIP, who do you expect, Mourinho??!

I mean if he could get us promoted, then sure, but my god the football is terrible.

I'm really not sure I could get in a positive mindset about him. Although he probably would grind the results out.

  5. We can bury our heads if we wish, but the whole thing is just a little strange. Nobody knows what's actually going on though so literally everything is just speculation.

But don't worry, it'll all come out in the next few weeks (or years).

He also brought in Kante, Fuchs, Okazaki, Mahrez etc...

Kante was signed after he left, pretty sure Okazaki was too. Mahrez, fantastic signing but players like this are a one off. My point is, if he's suddenly given a big check book will he go after the right players.

He also kept Danny Drinkwater out of the team and used him as a backup for Matty James...... Also although he deserves credit for signing them Mahrez.... Him, Morgan, Drinkwater, Huth, Shcmeichal, Simpson and Vardy moved to a completely different level after he left.

Ulloa played a pretty important part in a title winning squad, hardly deserves to be labelled as a bad singing

Never said he was a bad signing.

Only so much you can do at rangers. Villa is a long term project with quite possibly good financial support to build on. One season back to go forward a few more down the track.

Is this the case though. In Moyes' situation, if we're going to guarantee significant funds moving forwards and also provide him with a budget to get us out of the league. Why would he say no.

If we painted the picture of a long term plan with ambitious motives, I can't see that he would have turned it down? Surely?

    Warburton for me

Don't mind Pearson myself. Think he's got a great character and is unfairly judged by a few moments of madness. He had a part in creating the spirit and squad that won Leicester the title.

Can't see him coming after getting Rangers promoted, if he's going to leave now the work he did previously in the lower leagues will have been a waste of time.

Dyche would be brilliant, yes I know Burnely are promoted, but at the end of the day it's still Burley and there's a major glass ceiling.

    Can anything unite VT?

I'd actually take Warnock over Pearson, better track record in the championship and we wouldn't look so bad firing him once/if promoted. (He has got a really impressive record in the championship to be fair to him, just look at what he did at Rotherham)

Free Chicken Curry at home games would unite us. 100%.

  10. Honestly think Moyes would have been perfect for us and vice-versa.

If it's Pearson, would you trust him with £30m? He signed some good players for Leicester (obviously), but from memory his biggest ever was £8m on Ulloah?

  11. I'll be delighted and gutted if Moyes gets the job.

Obviously delighted as i think he's by far the best candidate.

Gutted because 2 weeks ago I tried to put £30 on him becoming the manager at 25/1 and my browser crashed as I pressed place bet and I never went back and put it on again  (cry face)

I don't understand how it can be so close to completion yet no one knows who the group/person even is who's buying us?

That's probably a good sign if anything, rather than bad.

I have always found Howard Hodgson

    • Knowledgeable
    • Articulate
    • forthright in his views
    • dedicated(fan)
    • successful business man
    • logical

Like all opinions some are more valuable than others and that is the choice of the recipient.....I find Howard worth listening to.....despite the fact that no one can be always right.

I never said he wasn't any of those things. I didn't say anything negative about Howard, all I was saying is that he didn't say the words that the guy on TBAR said he did.
