it's dreary weather here today. Maybe that's why i see Bevington leaving as a REALLY bad sign.  If a takeover were waiting for the ink to dry or even just a week or so away, it seems a silly thing to do and silly timing.  If the takeover were days away, it would seem much better to just wait until it's announced and then follow up with "right then, that's me done.  It's been fun.  All the best."

it's time for RL to start preparing villa to go into next season.  A transfer policy first, then the best manager you can find willing to work under that policy.

I think quite the opposite, leaving today makes it appear as though he is leaving of his own will. Rather than trying to hang on but the new owners not involving him in their plans.

He was always going to leave after the board fell apart.

  2. I honestly can't even imagine what it'll feel like to see a post on the official site saying a takeover has gone through.

It's almost as if we all know that nothing is going to happen and have just decided to play a really cruel game amongst ourselves by pretending it's going to!

Does anybody ever check twitter or look on here and actually expect something to have happened?!?!

I'm not saying I don't think it's happening btw  just can't actually imagine seeing it in black and white!

    hahahahahahaha!

I'm not going to get drawn into anything silly but Howard didn't 'confirm' anything, he didn't claim to be in the know and was just talking about rumours.

Absolute bull. I listened to him on WM on the way back from work and Howard didn't say anything even remotely like that!

He was just talking as a fan and said he didn't know who it was and that he reckons more than 1 consortium is in the running. That guy's totally made that up!

It isn't a 'told you so' situation, I just decided to do a bit of research on the two clubs that article mentioned as being owned by Chinese groups. I don't know much about French football, but I saw that Sochaux won the cup in 2007 and have spent a lot of time in the top-flight recently, so to be in danger of going down to the third level, the owners have to take some flack.

I would agree that the chances of it happening to us are slimmer, as at 10x the price we will attract more serious players, I just remain cautious when I think of other takeovers from that part of the world (Vincent Tan, Venkys, and a certain team very close to home!)

Sochaux recently got relegated to Ligue 2, before that they'd spend 66 consecutive years in ligue 1. More than PSG.

  6. As I have no work in the morning and have been reading for the past hour ...I've discovered that Rui Kang are actually owned by a company called China Wah Yan Healthcare Limited link to website - http://www.chinawahyan.com/index.php?CompanyOverview

They appear to own 2 businesses, Rui Kang (Who they took full control of very recently) and another company caller IR Resources who essentially cut down the Cambodian rain forest and sell wood and agricultural products.

Damn it i also found out some other interesting stuff but i've deleted the tabs by mistake. But that group is run by an 'award winning entrepreneur' who's studied at Uni in UK and USA.

Superb left back, he'll have no shortage of takers, just goes to show how good you have to be to make it here, he is an excellent player, all the best to him

Yeah only the real superstars like Gabby get into the team and stay there. Forever..... and ever..... and....

Was a nightmare trying to renew last week & move to the Holte, even though I was told by phone last week that moving wouldn't be a problem. Relocation day is 23rd of next month. Woman in ticket office then said I could move to the Upper North & then try & move then. It didn't sink in that I am disabled & no way could I go there. No one can relocate to Lower Holte in the value seats until all the people that are being moved from the Trinity & Lower North have made their choices.  Stayed in seat behind goal down Lower North . Woman in ticket office didn't have a clue what she was doing TBH .

If you're disabled, just to let you know I believe the back rows of the North Stand are being redeveloped to be a disabled area?

I am thinking of renewing but want to move from DE to the Holte. But I'm amazed how many unavailable seats there are - the ground looks 3/4 full and L3 and L4 only have a few single seats dotted around. Are they holding some seats back or something?   Do people think there will be more seats available after the deadline for renewing has passed?  As I write this i am thinking I could just renew now and then change the seats later (if better ones come up).

100%. It'll be because they're holding them for existing season ticket holders. I'd imagine around 40% of season ticket holders won't renew so that will free up a lot of seats after the deadline to renew.

Nottingham were also a bit crap for a couple months

Yes I know. But in his first loan with them he was one of the best players they had, this time round that's not been the case. Lansbury is noticeably streets above him.
