  1. I think it's harsh to say this about Dougie because was certainly tired, cynical, and burnout out after playing so many games but it's worth noticing that the best we played in the business end of the season was the two games we played while DL was suspended.

  2. I'm honestly not overly stressed about bottling the league position next season. The stars have aligned so well for us in the sense that, aside from City and Arsenal, the hierarchy of the so called Big 6 (should really be the Big 8 now with us and Newcastle) is in disarray. United are a dumpster fire, Spurs seem to be imploding, Liverpool are facing a very uncertain future post-Klopp, Chelsea and Newcastle are solid young sides but certainly clubs we can go toe to toe with in a race for 4th. Plus, I think England not getting the extra CL spot was an aberration amd we should be able to rely on 5th being a CL spot more often than not.

The future is so so bright.

  3. I get the conflicting feelings but surely the fanbase sees the trees for the woods and understands just how much of a setback missing CL two years running is for a club like Spurs? Granted they have a pretty self sustained revenue model now with the shiny stadium but as far as recruitment goes they are NOT Manure or Chelsea whose stature alone ensures they'll always be top of the list for big signings. They could easily slip into midtable irrelevancy like WHU or Everton if they go few more years without cracking the CL places.

  4. Given that Spurs play SHU I don't think GD is much of a buffer. I get scoring 5-6 goals or more in one game is asking a lot but Sheffield are the worst defensive side in Prem history, it has to be expected they'll go at least 3 goals clear minimum. Frankly I think it's more likely than not that if we both finish at 67 points, Spurs will take 4th on GD. I still think we'll squeak a result from the final 2 despite the fact that we're cooked, to say nothing of 115 licking their chops about playing Spurs. But this is far from done and dusted.

Is there a chance that subconsciously this is what they have their eyes on a and heads in?

Not saying purposely so ( neglecting the Conference League ) somewhat.

I don't think there's any doubt, and if not for some calamitous errors and terrible luck it would've continued doing so. He won't admit it but I think Emery understands the journey has been more important than the destination here; learning how to pace yourself through the season is so important, how often do you see Real in CL games breezing through the game like it's a warmup? It's the right mindset, but mistakes cost us.

Let's not forget the tie is far from done and dusted.

  6. Gonna be honest, if Spurs turn it around tonight it's gonna be squeaky bum time for 4th... we're probably more knackered as they are, as bad as they look. It is what it is, the lack of a quality second string always shows at the business end of the season.

Leverkusen are incredible. They were facing their first loss of the season and just equalised in the last minute of injury time.

Second weekend in a row they've scored a stoppage time equalizer, they really want that invincible season don't they

  8. Let's be honest here, Cov would've been dicked by City and I think somehow, watching United celebrate like they just won the WC after barely clinching pens against a midtable Championship side they blew a 3-0 lead against is more embarrassing than if they had lost the damn thing.
