  1. The man is a buffoon. He has put Gareth Southgate in charge of the U21's and more widely those below aswell.

He has been cack everywhere as a Manager, is a shocking pundit which also speaks volumes and will bring the grand total of sweet fa to the fa party.

We don't have National pride like other nations and that is the reason we are gash when it comes to international football.

    Simple. Done.

No, you asked for an example of someone who didn't jump ship for money and i gave you one, People band wages around and say that you can 'never earn too much'. Well, I am lucky enough to earn way over the average wage (nothing like a prem footballer) and i turned down a job offer because I liked the one I was in.

Money should actually be more important the less you earn, not the more you earn. Just saying.

    No.

I asked somone who wouldn't jump ship for an extra £100k per week

Now if you turned down an extra £5,000,000 p/a I salute you. I don't believe for one minute you did! Just saying.

Actually it was an extra £18k a year but it's all irrelevant as it's about putting it all into perspective. An older friend once put it all in perspective once when I asked him why he turned down a promotion - he said there comes a point where more money doesn't significantly alter your life for the good. It was just one of those epiphanous moments for me.

Football is so fixated in la la land that we cannot even imagine the sums involved. Assuming that teks signed a new deal at 50k a week that means he earns in a fortnight what I earn in a year and I consider myself well off! And that's without the sponsorship deals. It's the last I'll say on the subject 'cos you either side with it or you don't. There's such thing as enough money IMO, the rest is often superfluous.

Oh, well bed time....work in the morning. Going to enjoy the time Tekkers is here with us.

This isn't a promotion! It's the same job.

If you wouldn't move to a different company doing the same job that pays in 1 year more than you will earn in fifty........

Anyway HUUGE home match against the Bin dippers coming up. What a reception the team will get. Gutted I am missing the match!

    Go Tekkers!

  3. The real test will be seeing how we get on against the likes of Fulham/ Tesco bags/ Stoke/ three promoted teams. If we can play against them and get the results I don't think top 6 is out of question as we will pick up some points against the Sky 6 (Manure/ Citeh/ Chel$ki/ Arse/ Plop and Spuds).

Hate to say it but would be happy scrapping Everton and Spammers (bloody Fat Sam) for top 10 upwards.

If we drop a level against the rest we will struggle and I just hope for above 18th........

  4.

Find me anyone who wouldn't jump ship for an extra £100k a week?!

Champions League for me is a bit take or leave it, but as a player to play for Real Madrid/ PSG/ Bayern/ Manure should they come calling? Look at Bale. He is supposed to be a family man, well settled and in a love in with his manager.

Benteke on the other hand has gone on strike and put in transfer requests and he's younger.

I hope he stays. Let's not kid ourselves if the moolah is offered to him he won't be off(ski).

So what? Do we have to spend the next five months discussing "how much" and "who will buy him"?

No doubt he will go some day but personally I prefer to discuss his exploits as a Villa player rather than constantly harping on about what he is worth and who will buy him

I agree. That's why we should get past August and party 'til 2014! (and posted this above.....)

  6. Thought he was given a hard time over the last 18 months on here. Maybe settling down rather than trying too hard after the injuries? Haven't seen him play this year so hard to say.

Bought his 16 shirt when he first came and thought he could be one hell of a player. Hope this isn't a flash in the pan and he keeps it up.

Who played centre mid with Westwood last year when Chel$ki whooped us 8-0. One was Herd.

Were we looking any better with Delph and KEA? Just wondering..............

Using that game as an example of how bad Bannan is is just as unfair as using win % to determine how good he is. Everyone was terrible v Chelsea last season, and our improved performance tonight has more to do with how we have improved as a team not because certain players weren't playing, you can toss in the fact we played 3-5-2 in that game too as a reason why we've improved.

I accept that. He was in there again for Wigan at home in that run of 0 for and 15 against. Numerous issues across the team, but I don't accept he was effective at all last year even when on the pitch when we won.

My memories of Bannan will always be of the headless chicken treading water. And when he was put on the wing........ Bloody hell. What did McGash and Lambert (for too much of last year) see in him?!

We are stuck with him and Ireland to the end of their contracts.

I agree, he was extremely ineffectual last season and should be shipped out asap, but seems as if Bannan is becoming a bit of a scapegoat for things that he can't have helped anything. Not having a go or anything, it's just a general theme that appears to be developing. :)

Just looking at the ridiculous arguments put forward in favour of BB. Thought I'd find a couple of cheap shots to join in the fun!

Bloody awful for us last year though!. If I ever see him collect the ball from a centre back again, I will put my mortgage on him turning clockwise (keeping the ball on his left foot with all touches) and more than likely being tackled immediately.
