Extremely frustrating, but I'm not going to be jumping on the "our CL hopes are over now".
There's still a very long way to go, and this was just an example of the twists and turns that will take place during the run in. Not just for us, it'll happen for Spurs, Liverpool and City too.
Best not to dwell on the game. Onwards and upwards for Sunderland on Wednesday.

From where I was sitting it just looked like Kirkland had saved it and held onto it. There were a crowd of defenders blocking our view too, but when they all moved we could see the ball in the net, much to our delight!
-
I think Habib Beye should start this game, he's good enough.
-
**** sake, gotta stop conceding shit goals like that. Goal difference is important now.
-
One more goal and we go above the bin dippers!
Edit - Sorry my stream is about a minute behind!
-
Why is Cuellar even playing? He's such a defensive option at right back.
-
Anyone listening to Neil Warnock? **** one eyed prick. Saying the linesman should be banned because of the corner decision that lead to our second. Did he not see the 2 incorrect decisions he gave against us when we were clean through?
Prick.

I don't care what anyone may say, I'd have taken a draw over a loss all day. I never want to see Villa lose, no matter what the occasion or circumstances.
We can easily put a second string out in the 2nd leg that is capable of beating them, especially with home advantage.

GET THE **** IN!
-
That lino has been awful this half.
-
shit from young. didn't even look.
Exactly. He could have took 2 seconds, held it up. Horseshit.
-
Why are we so shit?
-
Some of our short passing has been absolutely awful.
-
55 seconds!
Who had him in the sweepstake?!
-
I actually know a guy from Birmingham who used to be a massive Liverpool fan, then switched allegiances to Villa. Not complaining, but it was a little odd.
-
Anyone heard anything on a Richard Dunne hamstring injury? Just making my Fantasy Team changes and it says he is doubtful.
-
Ok lets forget about Sunday and start looking forward to the second leg. One game now away from Wembley.
I think he will stay with Carlos at left back, feels he gives us more stability at the back than Luke who is far better going forward. Probably be the same team as Sunday with the exception of Carew for heskey.
I'd be extremely surprised if the team was any different from the one that played the 1st leg.

Are away goals counted these days? Remember they weren't the last time we played a semi final in this cup.
Away goals only count after extra time, as they did when we beat Arsenal 2-2 in the 1996 semi at Villa Park.

Text from my mate who works at Villa - confirmed for next Thursday.
Edit: Now confirmed by Rovers:
Rovers' Carling Cup semi-final 1st leg against Aston Villa at Ewood Park has now been confirmed to take place on Thursday 14th January, kick-off 8.00pm.Consequently, our Barclays Premier League game at home against Fulham has moved back 24 hours to Sunday 17th January, with a 3.00pm kick-off.
Existing match tickets will be valid for the rearranged fixtures but fans who have purchased tickets and are now unable to attend on the new dates, can obtain a refund by applying to the ticket office in advance of the fixture.
The Carling Cup semi-final 2nd leg will remain on the 20th January with a 7.45pm kick-off at Villa Park

Really gutted, but glad it's been announced now rather than later. Fingers crossed getting sent home from work soon too!
I'll just have to play Blackburn vs Villa on FIFA instead!
-
Just had a text from my mate who works at the Villa - it's off.
-
Absolutely gutted. I've got no hope with this game being on. Gutted for the players too, they're already there!
-
You'd hope they would announce something by at least midday at the latest. Having booked a half day, I don't want to have to leave work and find out at 3pm that it's called off.
-
There isn't a prayer of this one being on is there?

I think I might just scream, maybe even cry a little, with anger if Luke Young doesn't start at right back. If there was ever any evidence needed to suggest that Cuellar doesn't quite cut it at RB, Saturday was there for all to see. I agree with 'Avfctheobsession' that I'm almost hoping Dunne is injured in order for L. Young to get a game.
Other than that, swap Heskey for Gabby and keep the rest.
