That's a pretty amazing record. Watching last night's shoot out again, his shithousing isn't actually that significant.  But it's  got to the point where everyone is watching for it,  and his reputation is intimidating to the opposition. Also must take heat off our players

My MP. Previously caught up, a few years ago, in some kind of Brazilian rent boy and drugs story, who said he was gonna clear his name in court, but somehow never quite got round to it.  I mean, what they do in their lives is their business and if they like cocaine and prostitution, hypothetically, that’s y’know, not really any concern of mine. But it is a bit of a sign of some vulnerability and insecurity. It sounds like he’s not got his life in order.

He nearly found a spine about fracking, but…didn’t. He nearly found a spine about…a few things, but didn’t. Soon enough, or perhaps not soon enough, someone else will be the MP for here. See ya, Mark, another who put party before the people who he represents or his own prospects.

    Now **** off.

On the news last night they said that there was also some previous investigation about getting a dog drunk. Just your every day Tory MP stuff really

Poor performance but that penalty was ridiculous. The strategy of putting your best guy 5th looks genius in situations like that.

Yes, great penalty, and he was so poised and calm before it, incredible

  4. This guy is going to change the rules of football. He'll be what Graeme Obree was to cycling in the 90s. Where Obree's innovation in bikes led to amazing performances and later a UCI ban on his approaches,  EMI's innovation in shithousing will surely cause a review of the rules, otherwise it just simply isn't  fair to other teams.

Big Emi - amazing. Matty & Leon - superb. And shout out to Ollie nailing that pen with the pressure of waiting and his dodgy history. That was truly excellent.

Straightforward semi please. I can't take that again.

PS - proof I think that this is not a 3rd rate trophy. It really means something.

We've  all got a straightforward semi right now

England is a very interesting country. Tea with milk, flat beers, fans prefer to have a pie than support their teams.

But I wouldn't change it. (maybe some more fan engagement would be nice!)

Nuns cycling to communion through the morning mist, long shadows on the cricket pitch...

If Emery had seen some of these highlights then no wonder he went for him.  Its the balance of team and individual that is so impressive.  He doesnt hang on to the ball that much. Always looking for the pass.

He's much older than I thought though, very fresh faced for a 31 year old

I can see him starting on Wednesday, it will be a tough atmosphere, Lille will be up for it and can see them having a lot of the ball, having him as a "target winger" like on Saturday could be a valuable asset

I hope he doesn't  - will mean he is too tired for Thursday.  But in all seriousness, his deployment as a "target winger" (great new phrase) was really interesting and highlights his versatility.

I'm in two minds about whether we should keep him (and he may want to return to Italy), but his versatility and recent form certainly strengthens the case.

I have said all season I think we will finish 5th, but 5th will get CL.

I now think 5th will not get CL… but I think we have a good shot at 4th.

So don’t listen to me basically.

Hang on, wouldn't not listening to you now also be listening to you? You've put us all in a bit of a bind

IF we do move, I wonder if Villa Park would be renovated into apartments etc. like Highbury was.

Big difference in the locations and the market.I guess it could be, but very different type of development

I don't think that's it at all. Gerrard signed Kamara on big money and he doesn't get criticism as a result.

It's just a self feeding joke, along the lines of 'why didn't Barry take the penalty?' and 'can we loan Janjuzaj?'

The joke is separate to the player, who the vast majority of Villa fans are very happy with, I'm sure.

You make a very good point there. Can we loan Januzaj?
