  1. I didn't think there would be anyone who would be happy with bent being sold.

Woodytom you must have one giant sized randy lerner statue in your house.

Not about being happy. Its about being realistic. If a bigger club (and there are plenty of them) come in for him then hes going, end of.

And there are both positives and negatives of that. Il choose to look at the positives.

what if that ' bigger ' club was qpr

Then Bent would be talking shit like Barton was.

  2. I've been really impressed with Herd so far this season & I don't see why he can't make that central spot his own, as I doubt Petrov will be here next season or a regular starter.

IMO he's ahead of Delph and so he should be.

  3. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this. Darren features in the regular Sunday Times Magazine feature 'A life in the day' today. (11.12.11 p.82).

The article gves some insight into his daily life since he joined Villa. People talk about him moving on but clearly the proximity of his family (mother) in Huntingdon, which he describes as visiting '2 or 3 times a week' (an hour drive he says); is a key factor in his current life. He may not find other clubs as convenient.

He does say that he is playing for a great team - and loving it. Probably he would, wouldn't he? But somehow I don't see him moving on this side of the Euros anyway.

He reminds me of Andy Cole.

Doesn't do much & can take 5 chances to score.

I just can't warm to the bloke like I have with other players, but at the moment I'm struggling to do that with anyone in our squad.

    I don't think he'll go anywhere.

He's not 'superstar' enough for Man City.

    Can't see Wenger spending £20m+.

Liverpool? Possibly, but surely 'King Kenny' has spunked enough without much return.

QPR? More chance of them going for Zamora, Andrew Johnson or Defoe.

    Sunderland? That would be funny.

  4. I've really tried hard to give him a chance but I can't do it anymore.

I actually feel he was appointed on purpose to be the scapegoat by the board, deflecting all the crap from the stands onto the manager, keeping the board mostly abuse free whilst they **** things up their own way.

See I just don't buy this.

Why would any owner knowingly put his own investment at great risk simply to deflect some personal criticism - which he will get anyway since he's the owner?

    That's right. They wouldn't.

    That makes sense.

I just think Lerner is clueless.
