  1. Well it sums it up doesn't it.

A crap Bolton, without their goalkeeper and best defender - and who is man of the match...........Brad Friedal.

A truly shocking performance. Friedal , L Young, Ireland and Collins were the only ones I can give credit to.

I am just glad that muppet of a supposed management is now gone.

Houllier MUST see a few things.

    1. Ashley Young is one of the best left wingers in Europe.

    2. Luke Moore is more use up front than Ashley Young

    3. Petrov and Ireland cannot play in a 4 man midfield, it is one or the other

    4. Petrov cannot last more than 55 minutes, which makes point 3 an obvious choice !.

    5. I agree, Gabby could play that hold up player superbly. However, if he does, you need a goalscorer alongside him, as at the moment, te system is ruining Gabby !.

I honestly dont think there is a lot wrong. Put Ash on the wing, get Downing or Albrighton on the bench, get Reo Coker in midfield, put Carew up front until Jan. then try and get a goalscorer in - and I honestly think with a bit of imagination and tactical nouse from the guys on the bench - we can go far.

Wierd, I came out Villa Park , not disappointed, not fuming, just bloody happy it is over !.

Long live Sid and co. !

yes vive la revolution! think good houllier has seen us perform poorly in some respects and that NRC was missing should help him choose his XI and give him more inkling on who he needs in and who should be shipped out.

  2. I think this is a shrewd appointment by the board, one which I'm warming to.

Does he have premiership experience? check

Did he win trophies during said premiership experience? check

Does he have continental experience of winning? check

Is he widely respected within the game? check

I also think he's probably learnt from his mistakes in the transfer market, but as many have said for every Salif Diao you have a Dietmar Hamman, also it's easy to forget that the whole Liverpool team when he took the reigns needed rebuilding, we're different we're two or three players short of ruffling a few feathers in the top four, and hopefully Gerard can unearth these. I'm looking forward to what the future holds.

completely agree. we are close and he does have some talewnted players there that MON did not use. if he can get them all competing, get ash and ireland in the right positions and gabby firing we may be a threat. can see carew going in jan though.

Agreed, the more I think about it the better it becomes!

  3. we need to go back to littles 3-5-2 but we just dont have the wingbacks for it yet. bring back charles and wright! we def have the cbs though.

    would like to see

    friedel

    carlos dunne collins

    young downing petrov nrc albrighton

    ireland

    aggy

with young downing and albrighton swapping in and out

  4. im going for a beatuful trio of managers tony adams, john barnes and stan staunton. we'd walk the league with those three in charge....

seriously not sure we're in a bit of a pickle really. sven's about but his mind had wondered since england, brian little would give his left arm for another go im sure! would love macdonald to do well though. may not be popular choice but nigel pearson would do well (altho just gone to hull), what about steve mclaren (oh no wait he's just gone wolfsberg!),

big ron and GT MkI return!

or will deano roll in to town....

  5. i dont think ellis was even in charge back them - im pretty sure it was bendall - ellis had left the club. villa were run on a tight ship and it was the cumulation of our 8 year surge under saunder that unfortunately he wasnt there to finish off. villa also hardly thrw the money about in the 80s shaw and cowans were both home grown whilst morley and withe may have cost money and spinks the heor had only played about 2 matches before that day! i think what is being said is that it will be the owners and money that bring glory not team spirit, determination, passion and tactics which is sad.

  6. we will start signing people when august starts. milner will go next week. young will stay - he is still our most important midfielder. tis will have to be the year the youngsters come good and i mean albrighton, delfounseo and bannan (delph may be 2011 if injury doesnt clear up easily). also hope nrc finally comes into his own.
