How can anyone defend Olsen anymore? Jesus wept how bad was that

I admire the effort you all put in to make such great looking badges. But I can’t help feel it’s wasted time, given we won’t be getting anything near the quality you have all put on display so far. Why titillate us like this? Don’t you guys have a day job or something?

I was guilty of some over reactions last night given how poor we played and what a shocker Doug had. Perspective is needed though, on both sides. We need to stick by him, he was superb earlier this season. But he also needs to realise that we are at crucial time in our season and we really need him at his best, given how threadbare we are. But something is clearly off with him. I hope both sides can support each other as both ultimately benefit.

He’s let the team down today. Don’t know where his heads gone.

The over reactions in this thread, honestly. Where's the support?

We've been pretty poor going forward. They look better. We've carved a few chances out but have failed to test Neto so far. Frustrating.

I actually think McGinn has been worse
Agreed. But I just wonder how the great balance we had in the Arsenal game was lost somehow.

Dare I say it, bringing Luiz back in was a bad decision. Even though it was the obvious choice.

Such a dissapointing performance. We've been out outplayed but not because they're amazing or anything. We've just been dreadful.
-
McGinn is anonymous. As are most tonight. What is the plan?

We are playing at a snail pace. Is it a plan to conserve energy for the second half? They had a week rest and clearly look much fresher.

They better than us so far....

One of our most consistent performers this season. Mr Dependable. Would love for him to stick around as we continue building our squad.

I thought he was phenomenal yesterday. It was hard to pick but he was my MOTM. The passing under pressure was exquisite.

I think we had more bite and energy in his absence and the freshness in the middle made a big difference. I'm a big fan of Luiz but yesterday gave me some reassurance that we can play well without him too. It's a squad game!

Best we’ve played in a long time. We deserve something from this game. More of the same second half please. UTV!!

How the hell is that not a pen??

Luiz is overrated on here. Good player but we treat him like he’s a world beater when I don’t think he is tbh. He’s been average a lot this season in matches.
Luiz has been an excellent player for us for several seasons now, but he's been overworked this year and his form has suffered for it.
He's integral to our style of play. The type of player that keeps the ball ticking over. Not to mention his steeliness at penalties and the fair few goals he's chalked up this season.
We'll see how we got on without him in the next few games. But to call him overrated is absurd. He was hot property earlier this season and everyone was raving about him.
Let's be careful what we wish for, he could be gone next season anyways.

I wish I knew. Maybe need to address the psychology of it, maybe bring in a specialist to deal with concentration issues.
I do think we lack a natural leader though. Love McGinn as a player but he may just not be mentally strong enough for the captaincy.
Truth is it may just be down to being shocking in defence. We've put so much work into the high line and playing out from the back that we've neglected basic defensive skills.
If only I knew the answer
The chopping and changing of that back line could well be a factor. We haven’t had a stable back 4 for some time now.

Please play him at centre back again. Without Mings we have no else to rely on to marshall and organise the defence. He's just not the right back you want in the modern game.

He seems exhausted and has been out of form for weeks. Maybe the rest does him good in the end.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we avoided the loss in the end, but that is a very poor result, especially from 2-0 up.
One of our players admitted that we tend to relax too much when we're 2 up and it's something we need to work on (I think it was Ollie post-Forest, I might be wrong). It seems that nothing has changed. Completely switched off for their first goal and then we lost all control and our heads totally dropped. It's so bloody infuriating as we had a great chance to solidify our position. We absolutely need to be beating teams like this at home when we have a healthy lead.
But what is causing this? Is it the lack of leadership in the team? Fatigue? Their heads just went but we all knew exactly what as coming. So predictable and utterly disappointing.

We’re broken. Injuries have decimated us but there’s some serious players who have let us down big time right when it mattered. Another complete non-performance today.
