  1. the flag should be much bigger than pictured on the mock ups

    something like this

    1plagu.JPG

I thought that was the initial plan. Will be disappointed if its so small. I can hear it now 'what the **** hell is that' repeat to fade!!! :(
  2. Went for number 3 myself. If I remember correctly it will be unveiled against the Blose at VP is that correct?

I had a idea for this match. People should make small banners and flags with silhoettes of the trophies or with imporat years in our history e.g 1874, 1888, 1932 etc. Or even player names from the past and present.

You're not even the biggest club in North London.

I'm just jelous though if you want the truth. I mean John Carew, Ashley Young and Gareth Barry, who wants to watch them when I could watch Lennon running down a blind alley and failing to cross the ball, or Berbatov turning up 1 game in 3 or the amazing Jenas, a player who can't tackle and can't pass. Yes you have me convinced,I will be applying for a Spurs ST tomorrow. If only I 'd seen the light earlier I'd have missed all those seasons where you couldn't match the mediocre teams in the division.

Someone needs to have a word with Martin O'Neill

We should be beating the smaller lower relegation fodder teams like the tiny tots more than 2-1 even though the scoreline flattered them.

How we cann't completly drub a team that has won the league less times than Huddersfield Town and has 2 top six finishes in 18 years is very disappointing.

    Brilliant!!!!

  4. Heard on the way to the JJB sung by a group of Villan walking behind us a funny rendition of 'Keep Right On' changed to 'Wipe that snot of the end of your nose' anyone know the words to this?

Also heard to the tune of 'don't take my sunshine away' -

    We've got Scott Carson,

    Mellberg and Laursen etc

anyone know thw complete version of this?

  5. I have voted never because I feel it should be free to season ticket holders or fans with a proven ticket record (you know bought so many during the season). Football is an expensive hobby, add up how much momey you spend in the ground and on merchandise on top of your season ticket (x2 in my case) and that's a hell of a lot of cash I spend on the club.

Maybe an idea would be to give season ticket holders a villa specific credit card that can only be used in club outlets (food at VP/merchandise from Villa shop/Away tickets/extra tickets etc). You then get rewards based on how much you have spent on the card, free AVTV being one of the rewards.

    Well just an idea..

EDIT - I know they do a normal villa credit card but the card is not villa specific nor are the rewards. Just like any other credit card really just with a villa badge on it.

try putting that idea to the general

    2. Marketing Initiatives. This is the remit of Richard Fitzgerald and he is absolutely brilliant at it. You will begin to see the "Villa Brand" become much more conspicuous in the days ahead. Richard has many plans and they will become obvious in the near future. Our Partnership with Nike brings us huge opportunities. The 100 million pound figure was Media-speak" but if anyone knows someone who is willing to put up that kind of money, please let me know.

Thanks for the reply General K. Will look forward to seeing them, I hope we smash our ticket records with the aid of these new initiatives

    1. New Kit: Press Launch and Launch to public on the 17th-19th of July. 9 Aug home kit on sale. 7 Sept away kit on sale. I have already explained why the timing is as it is...basically, our contract with Nike was signed "late in the game" and we had to fit in the queue with other teams around the world who have kits made by Nike. We knew this going in but determined that the quality of the kit and the Nike name was worth being a tad late during the first year. The Squad will play in the new Kit on the tour and the Inter game. For those going on tour, there will be a special "tour" shirt on sale soon...it will NOT be a replica of the new kit but something to wear other than our current shirt.

Hi General, was wondering if the press release is going to be like the Blues and our previous kit releases which I describe as amateurish, or will it be more classy e.g. similar to the teaser we have already seen? Also are we going to see the posters on bill boards around Brum? Have seen a few for season tickets already. Also what other ways are the club trying to advertised the club to the city and local areas?

on a visit to villa park today i drove round to have a look at the holte hotel an amazing sight to see it back in its glory but some low life bluenose who must be labouring there has daubed bcfc on the window inside can you pls get the site manager to remove this as i found it offensive

thx for putting the roar and pride back

It probably was the site manager as he is a bluenose (was in Evening Mail yesterday I think)

  9. The Scouse have movement at Anfield called 'Reclaim the Kop' where they are trying to inject European style support into English Football

Please God, no! European style support is repetetive, lacks the humor and spontanious banter we love about the English support culture. I see people keep mentioning the PAOK chant and JulieB keeps trying to promote the VIVA song. I guess this is going to sound a bit harsh, and I honestly do appreciate that you're trying hard to get something going, but I really hope the Holte End won't adopt these songs. For me, this is one step closer to someone banging a big drum and before you know it we're like the Pompey fans with their two "song" repertoir.

British fans are unique. They're funny, they're creative, they sing about tradition, have actual songs and they make a lot of noise. The key to bringing back the noise and atmosphere in British football is STANDING UP. Simple as that.

We're not arguing against the spontaneity and humourous banter, we're saying that we should also have a good decent chant. Holtenders in the sky and "villa villa villa villa" are so lame, they are embarrassing. Villa fans don't make a lot of noise....the one game we did was against SUFC and we stuffed them. That is why so many people on here are keen to get new (and actually decent) chants/songs, it actually makes a difference.

Holtenders in the sky is great, but anyway. I'm not saying we shouldn't get new chants and songs, but I don't think "eurostyle" e.g. PAOK and VIVA is the way to go. For me they represent a kind of atmosphere that I wouldn't want at Villa Park, because they are repetetive and simply quite dull. This is only my oppinion obviously, but I think we would rue the day we've ended up like Notlob and Pompey fans.

Songs and chants should go in more traditional English tunes and rhymes. Can't beat that imo.

Nothing morerepetitive that 'shit on the city' and 'Holte enders n the sky' (the crap short version that is).

Went to Lyon in May they had over 20 long songs very impressive and sounded coll as well with the whole ground joining in. Much more exciting and inspiring than anything I've ever seen at Villa Park (except Athletic Madrid, Blues, and Sheffield United).

Atmosphere in this country is dull unless you're an away fan and its not going to change unless standing is allowed but I can't see that happening

  10. I know you've worked hard for this and sorry for being negative but I think it's crap?

It sounds like a foriegn chas n dave track rather than a football anthem?

I don't think the FC Cologne Version with the clapping sounds crap sorry but I don't and if you look on You Tube at FC Cologne fans singing it sounds great but then that's my opinion... Dwight York sounded a bit naff TBH until it was adopted but was great when everyone at VP or wembley when we won the cup was singing it!!!

Agree. The german band makes it sound crap, but when the fans sing it it sounds really good

  11. Not sure if anyones noticed yet but the scousers have got hold of the PAOK tune and there words are pretty decent http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJs2MVDF-QA&NR=1
The Scouse have movement at Anfield called 'Reclaim the Kop' where they are trying to inject European style support into English Football to generate some atmosphere hence all those banners and new songs. Think Newcastle have started something similar called 'Bring Back The Noise'

Would love something like this to happen but people are just to happy with our crap songs and just sitting watching matches in silence

  12. Well I have tried! Even went round the upper Holte handing out the words!

I need some help and for someone to get involved from the Club. Phil Mepham was interested last year and thought it was a good idea. The German Band De Hoener have even given their OK to use it. FC Cologne sing it and if you look on You Tube

under VIVA COLONIA there is some footage

I've PM the general and posted on his thread asking if he will listen and get back to me

    HELP NEEDED WITH THIS!

Away matches and friendlies are best I think to get them started
