Made it to 450 Premier League appearances yesterday, which is great achievement, level on all-time list with two of our ex-goalkeepers, Friedel & Given

Struggled against a heavy press.
Some circumstances made it difficult, losing Youri early forcing a change and Diaby didn't find a way in to the game. Losing Martinez unsettled defence as there just isn't the same understanding. Digne being run into the ground with Moreno injured.
Rogers disappeared 2nd half, Watkins had very little supply but didn't take the chance when it came.
Problem is there was noone on the bench to affect where we needed in the centre of park to win the 2nd balls.
If Arsenal do the business tomorrow, and then Chelsea do us a favour midweek, this'll look like a vv good point.

Good to see a player go on and become a legend elsewhere, definitely talented player Bannan. Hopefully scores the winner vs WBA at the weekend, could hurt both of our ugly neighbours in one fell swoop

They just said in the studio that the FA have said Onana isn't going to missing the final, even though he got booked twice, as the rules are different...
FA frantically scrambled around for a napkin to write that new rule on.

Such an undeserved win. Hate penalties again, after brief respite to liking them this week

oh ffs

fair play fantastic pen Torp. I had him to miss after having his goal disallowed.
-
haha screw you Casemiro

damn, hope that doesn't psychologically mess them up for penalties. such a tight call that.

absolutely beautiful

This could be the funniest cup upset in history if Cov go on to win it now.

Utd clinging on here. hilarious.

Not our best performance of season, but has to be up there as one of the most impressive due to circumstances of coming just 3 days after away game in Europe that ran to pens and with threadbare squad. Really thought this was a banana skin today and we'd drop points.
Great combination play going forward. Defensively, Konsa and Pau were pretty flawless. Tielemans and McGinn done a great job without Luiz in the two game he's missed. Just very good all round.

Absolutely sublime. Bailey deserved the tap in. Watkins deserves one of his own now to cap it perfectly

That's two beautiful goals today, Watkins sublime

It’s insane. Like what stuff was they sniffing to go, yeah this okish mid table championship player is the one! Outrageous and brilliant
Didn't our coach know him from WBA youth. Plus he was at Man city academy after that and played every level England youth teams. Seems great signing but not quite a come-from-nowhere miracle

Good end to the half, hopefully can carry that momentum over. Considering the Thursday game, think it's been good performance. McGinn, Bailey, Konsa all on it. Rogers excellent. Watkins hasn't had a clear chance yet but making good moves.

Beauty. Such great combo work there.

Cash stupid to dive in there. Clear foul on Diaby though. Shame been okay start up to then

On a sort of related note Ollies pen was probably the best of the night. I know he slipped but dunno why he doesn't just take then for us.
He did great under pressure, but on past experience he isn't as cool as Doug from spot.

Did that commentator not know that La Marseillaise is the French national anthem and thought it was a Marseille specific song

Bad night for Spurs.
Pretty sure most Spurs fans will be happier about arsenal losing than any coefficient stuff

good performances from him, I would still sell in the summer though.
Need a younger centre back for our mix of 4 and his wages are very high. All for bringing in a younger CB in addition, but would keep Carlos too. We'll most likely not keep Lenglet and sell/release Chambers/Hause, those will be the wage savings in this area. Mings will be coming back from injury and that might take some time. So even if we signed a younger CB as a longer term options, would def want to keep someone who has now a decent amount of games for us to know the systems and also has good amount of European experience. Esp as it might be that Emery wants to keep going with Konsa RB at least some of the time.

I think they might be a bit burnt out. Was marveling before the game how they seem to have zero injuries and all their keys players Saka, Odegaard, Rice, Gabriel, Saliba, White have all played 90%+ of their league + CL games but maybe this is the point of season that catches up on them, and that was part of their 2nd half drop off.
Arteta doesn't seem good at the squad management thing. Rotates the GK but plays his mercurial attacking players into the ground

What Emi would have added 2nd half is his ability to slow it down and relieve some pressure. He's willing to keep the ball that bit longer, under pressure, wait until the pass is on before releasing.
Not sure it would changed the result ultimately. They did a good job on staying tight on Luiz and McGinn and wingers pushing high on full backs to not really allow the short options, Pau was forced to go long quite often as well and he's not one for low % hoofs normally, that was kind of forced by them.
